I had a great weekend dancing and listening to banging techno. 🕺🏼 Celebrated my friend’s b-day and my dear friend Ellie came to visit Helsinki for the weekend. ❤️ So much laughing, good conversations and silliness!

Currently at work trying to survive this Monday coma/post party feels. 🆘 I wish I had heaps of good food and I was in bed cuddling my love. Other than this zombie Monday this week is going to be really productive, inspiring and super busy. Can’t wait! 😎

  • I’ve had a lot of people asking me when I started yoga so I thought I would share it here. I started about 6 years ago, first just going to my community center for classes then I started going to a hot yoga studio. I used to do dance and gymnastics when I was younger so I’ve always worked on my flexibility. If you are patient and persistent with your practice you can improve your flexibility no matter what age😊🙏🏻
  • I’ve had a lot of people asking me when I started yoga so I thought I would share it here. I started about 6 years ago, first just going to my community center for classes then I started going to a hot yoga studio. I used to do dance and gymnastics when I was younger so I’ve always worked on my flexibility.   • Spring is finally here and I am so ready for it! 🌷 
I am also starting a new diet, I finally  went to the nutritionist so that I am sure I am giving my body the nutrients it needs. 🙏🏼
I am very excited about this because I feel it will make me feel so much better! ❤️
One of the thing I have in my new diet , is to eat every day some kind of nuts, and I am very happy that @maama.it has the perfect package that I can always bring around with me in my bag ❤️

Non è una dieta dimagrante o cose del genere, ma semplicemente una dieta che mi aiuterà a essere certa di dare al mio corpo tutto ciò di cui a bisogno. Sono molto felice perché sento che mi aiuterà molto a sentirmi più energica! 😊
Una delle cose che adoro di questa dieta è che devo mangiare tutti i giorni frutta secca ( noci mandorle ecc) e questi pacchettini di @maama.it sono perfetti così me la posso portare in giro facilmente!

This wheel variation has been my fave to practice lately - it engages the quads in a whole new waaaay! Start with the bent knee variation first, and then try extending the leg out. If you want a challenge later, try lifting the leg while it’s already extended 😉 Check out both in the slideshow above :) Which do you like the look of more?

  • OUT OF THE BOX // La semaine dernière, j’étais en formation de 15h en Katonah Yoga. Un seul week-end mais une formation intense qui m’a fait dire que je voulais en faire d’autre. 
Je pourrai vous raconter plein de choses sur cette pratique mais je continue encore un peu de digérer les choses pour moi. 
Mais j’ai aimé que le Katonah soit là avec comme vocation de s’adapter à chaque pratique, chaque enseignement. Comme ils sont déjà. 
Comme une boîte à outils que l’on vous présente et dans laquelle vous êtes autorisé à piocher les choses qui vous parlent. Sans forcément chercher à tout prendre et en restant vous-même. 
Et dans une époque où l’on cherche souvent à formater, à mettre les gens, les pratiques, les professeurs dans des boites, cela fait beaucoup de bien. 
Car au final, c’est cela qui fait un bon prof ou une belle pratique de yoga : le mélange. 
On a le droit de combiner les choses, d’essayer, de rajouter. De ne pas forcément vous revendiquer d’une branche mais de plusieurs (voir tout un arbre) 
On a le droit de changer de goût aussi au fur et à mesure qu’on grandit 🌳🌱

  • 25 days into the @yyoga team member 30 day challenge, I have attended 24 classes. I take one TRX and one Pilates a week, and the rest is various types of yoga. I had set out to take 40 classes this month, and it is clear that will not be happening. What taking on this challenge (the first time I've done a 30-day challenge since starting to teach 5 years ago) has really helped me clarify is what my priorities are, as a yoga teacher who is also an actor. Yes, yoga is a huge and amazing part of my life, but it cannot take over my life! It is crucial for me to invest my energies into every single audition, self-tape request, and voice recording request, so that I end every day with pride, dignity, and self-respect. And the nature of my fluctuating schedule means there is usually a day or two a week when I am not able to make it to my mat in the seat of the student, and I have learned to be okay with that, knowing that things will balance out. It is also important to me to hone my craft, which I do in a weekly acting class, as well as in additional work on my own. I also pour a lot into my teaching and am committed to fully showing up, inspired, for all the classes I lead. So far this month, I have taught 50 classes, double the amount I have taken. While I will not be able to hit my initial goal, I am proud of having moved my body more than ever before ... and to have been able to give myself permission to step off the mat to enjoy the beautiful blooms that make up springtime in Vancouver 💜; and spend time with my partner Randy and my tabby loves 😻 .

It’s Spring and starting to get that excitement of all things blooming and coming to life! .

My yoga changes now from winter energy to spring. Its good to add more movement as sun stays longer in our days.

Spring is a time of creating, cleansing, activity and movement, growth, and renewal. In Chinese 5-Element Theory (which encompasses wood, water, metal, earth, and fire) Spring is associated with the Wood element, and the Liver and Gall Bladder.

Anger is the emotion associated with the wood element. Emotions like aggravation and frustration are associated with the Liver and its partner, the Gall Bladder. So take care of Liver and gall bladder right now
.

Opening the side body and lengthening the side is good for Liver Meridians. Standing poses bring strength and balance to the body after Winter’s deep Yin rest.

The liver is associated with wood and wind, and houses the movement of blood. Add twists and forward folds to your practice and awaken the energy of Spring. 🌱

Do these 5 things for Liver Chi and practice side lengthening poses like Parsvakonasana .

We’ve finally pinned down the weather we’ve been hoping for, so it should be a warm, comfy class that’s 100% suitable for beginners and experienced yogis alike. Even if you’ve never practiced before, come learn the basics of vinyasa yoga as well as some delicious seated poses and have a beautiful meditation to start out your week the right way.   • I’ve been trying to find the beauty in today. It’s been a hard 24 hrs for me, lots of things seem to have appeared, and the amount of subconscious programming that has been revealed to me, to work on, and through, has been very overwhelming. Healing is tough, especially complex trauma.. but with therapy, self love & care I will move on, and through, these challenging times and embody a more expansive, more whole self.  To all those struggling, you are not alone despite how isolating the struggle can feel.

It was amazing to help people to develop their goals & dreams, eliminate limiting beliefs and heal the wounds of painful past situations. The NLP training that I took part of was an intense but very interesting, fun and eye-opening ride. It showed me once again, that my mission is to help people – no matter if it’s through NLP, Yoga or any other way. I’m excited to finally practice what I have been learning over the past 1.5 years.⁣⠀

  • I'm not always this happy. In fact, the other day Reuben asked me why I was so angry (and why I always seem to be so angry - I think my resting face isn't as happy as it could be 😂)⠀

The truth is, I'm probably smiling and laughing only about 10% of my day. The rest of the day I'm in-between emotions. Frustration, calm, apathetic, joy, self-doubt, grateful. I dread a lot and then pull myself out of it to feel thankful and energetic. ⠀
⠀
But it's a constant struggle. Once upon a time I always felt some form of happy, but now it's a little harder to hold onto. I still feel happiness, and in truth the happiness I feel now is stronger and more frequent but it doesn't last quite as long. I'll smile at a funny line in a book, or at Nimbus doing something silly.⠀
⠀
It isn't always easy to be happy, but since 'losing it' I've been able to regain it with more intention, which feels 100% better.⠀

The secret? I've written about it for you in the blog this week. ⠀
