  • Did you know that 90% of all diseases are caused by stress?
By regulating your breath you can lower your blood pressure, reduce your stress level and improve your concentration.
Just close your eyes and take a deep inhale through the nose. Hold your breath for some seconds, then exhale as slow as possible through the mouth. 
On the exhale relax your shoulders and your face. Repeat this a couple of times.
You will immediately feel calmer and more relaxed.

  • Why I love the practice? Aside from the more obvious benefits to breathing more intentionally and the physical well-being, it really can be a mirror for how I show up for my life “off the mat.” How do I respond when I feel like I’m losing balance?
Do I hold on tighter or give up?
Do I keep trying to do the same thing over and over again, or quit trying to fit a square peg into a round hole and try something else?
How can I get back to using this practice to build emotional intelligence, integrity, into the rest of life?

How can I LIVE my yoga?

The interesting part is I’ve been practicing less often (temporarily) and really focusing on seeing the “how to” around taking these questions 👆 off my mat...placing myself into scenarios that test balance, test that calm. I’m a big believer in “the quotes are only as good as the actions you take on them.” And I try as much as I can to go out and test that out in less than ideal situations: because it’s always easy when it’s easy but that isn’t growth.

So get out there! Try something new, test your balance, start that side hustle, go get outside of your comfort...and #livemore .

  • “No matter what but I will catch my toes/put my leg/bend my back/ get this pose”. Do you have these thoughts while practicing?

I was watching my students today working hard on ashtanga half primary series. And for the first time I literally saw how many amazing things some of them are loosing in rush for the perfect asana.

We are programmed to reach the result. If we are told take your toe we will be thinking only about how to take this toe. We will make a detailed plan and follow it strictly. We will surf internet and read and compare ourselves to others and ask advices. 
Good part is that most probably the posture would be achieved sooner or later. The sad part of it is that so many lessons about You would be missed.

You are a unique combination or bones, muscles, emotions, experiences, feelings and believes. Your asana is a reflection of them all. Anatomical approach to yoga postures is just a top of the iceberg. Don’t miss the whole thing though yogis.

Try to rush less achieving the “ideal” alignment. What’s great for one doesn’t work for another. And if the pose is not happening yet, try to relax and tune and move slowly slowly listening to the story which Your body is telling You . And Yoga will happen 💯 🤗

  • 🙏🙏🙏 This was it 🙏🙏🙏 Picturing my last yoga-pose in what I could call my "office" for almost 2 years. #yogashala

I almost can't believe it's the last class I'm going to teach, the last working day, and the last moments spent with my work-family over here today.

Such an honour to teach in the most beautiful spot, surrounded by the most beautiful people, and teaching all beautiful yogis who joined my classes. Nothing but gratitude for every second I have spent here, for every person that crossed paths 💖💖💖 Taking a lot of teachings, lessons, and experiences into my new adventures. Leaving with thankfulness 🙏 and feeling absolutely blessed 😇 for the opportunity this business has given to me. Hugging and squeezing, and taking along these beautiful friendships, that I'm sure are not a "goodbye" but "see you soon" 😍

Creo que uno de los mayores retos de esta existencia humana es aprender a aceptar que todo tiene su ciclo, que todo tiene un inicio y un final, y que sólo así podemos fluir con el ritmo natural de la vida. Y es que en nuestra hay altos y bajos, momentos de abundancia y momentos de pérdida, momentos para recibir y momentos para aprender a dejar ir ☝️.
.
La naturaleza evidencia esto, y es por ello que - año a año- se expande y florece, y luego se contrae y se prepara para morir. Y lo vemos en las plantas, lo vemos en el clima, lo vemos en la cantidad de luz que recibimos en cada estación, en el comportamiento de los animales que hibernan cuando hay frío y salen a cazar cuando llega el calor.
.
Ahora que inicia el otoño, es un momento ideal para volver a nosotr@s mism@s después de la expansión y la energía del verano. Los días se hacen más cortos y con menos luz, y eso nos invita también a trabajar con nuestras sombras y mirar aquello que a veces evitamos: nuestros miedos, nuestras inseguridades, y aquellos patrones que nos cuesta soltar 🍂.
.
Trabajar con la energía del planeta es recordar que nosotros también formamos parte de la 
naturaleza. Y que sus ciclos y estaciones también son nuestros ciclos y estaciones, y tienen una influencia en nosotros ✨.
.
Utilicemos el inicio de esta estación tan linda para sembrar intenciones poderosas para los próximos 3 meses. Reflexionemos en aquello que queremos dejar morir, y permitamos que viejos patrones se vayan para poder dar vida a algo nuevo y mejor. Rindámonos al flujo natural de la vida, y recordemos que los finales y las pérdidas no son del todo negativas, pues son esas pequeñas muertes y esa limpieza interna y externa las que nos permiten transformarnos en una nueva versión de nosotr@s.

Every action in the yoga practice is executed very carefully and precisely, as if making a wonderful piece of art. It allows you to enjoy ‘slowing down’ and ‘stopping’ more. It gives you time to experience asana slowly and fully at that moment. It connects you with parts of your body you may never have been aware of.  This is the yoga experience that Yu will guide you through.

Yu completed her 350 hour yoga teacher training with YIMI and is continuing to deepen her understanding of yoga through training in Iyengar Yoga.
