День 1❤ Headstand

If you went to a yoga class and didn’t love it - that is so okay. But promise me you’ll try another? Think of it kind of like this: some people like running and some people like cycling. They’re both different types of cardio, they both move you forward (kind of - obvs not if you are on a stationary machine, but you get my drift), they both get your heart rate up. Personally I hate spinning - but I love running
Well yoga classes vary hugely from teacher to teacher too, and that’s so awesome because VARIETY. But just because you didn’t gel with one teacher doesn’t mean you won’t love another. One teacher might be serious and another might be more playful, one might work on flexibility and the other might prefer strength… It’s okay to have a preference
Yoga is so life changing and awesome I so wholeheartedly want you to find yours too. And if you haven’t yet try again. I’m not staying I’ll be your teacher but I have youtube videos if you wanted to give them a try
And p.s. don’t let instagram scare you. You DO NOT have to be flexible to do yoga.
Do you remember all the things you thought you were going to be when you grew up? I was going to be a music teacher, then a country singer, then a bakery owner, just to name a few. And those were through my teenage years so I was pretty serious about them.😂😂 If you’re anything like me, you still don’t really know, BUT tell me anyway.. Did you become what you thought you’d be? Or go in a completely different direction?👩🏻🍳👩🏽🔬👩🏼⚕️👩🏽🎨 .
Welcome day 2 of #EarthHourYogis2019 March 24-30 ✨
In 2015, when a large-scale forest fire occurred in Indonesia and affected the world, I stopped using paper as much as possible...Because it was caused by deforestation to make papers...
I make notes at my phone and don't print photos or documents. That's very easy and simple. It's a small act, but I have achieved don't bought much paper and my family's paper waste has been reduced considerably😊 I love nature. I love plants. I breathe with nature today as well.
Today we practice pose of plants. I choose #updog with lotus legs🌸
What brings you joy?
Hopefully your list has many things on it!
One of the top joy-producing things on my list is sequencing and planning for my yoga classes! I always devote at least one day a week to spend on my mat in service to others. I carve out special time to create safe, empowering and fun yoga sequences for the @thefunkyom community.
It brings me such joy to watch out students connect, find their strength, smile, laugh and cultivate peace + calm.
I love this work!

My friend @k_m_j_w prefers her yoga sessions in the park. We are practicing gentle/beginner yoga with focus on areas she decides. Class today was relaxing
Do you agree the photo on the right is the perfect handstand? We think so! If your handstand looks like the one on the left, we would recommend building strength and balance using a wall and building your way up. This isn't necessarily bad for you, but doing it repetitively might cause injury or pain. Why do we recommend using a wall? We are all about foundations and control- using a wall will give you a better idea of what you need to work on to get yourself into the perfect handstand! Do you feel the same? We would love to know your thoughts in the comments!

Some final handstand tips to so you can spring forward in your practice.
Want to learn handstands in 2019? Do these things:
1. Learn to fall. Fall over and over until you aren’t afraid of falling anymore.
2. Don’t use the wall to learn the balance
3. Do use the wall to build the strength to hold it (but face the wall, don’t have your back to it)
4. Practice every day.
✨ strain builds strength, stamina, endurance, perspective. Strain + proper rest and recovery time = strength and progress and rehabilitation. #lightinsideyoga

Who you surround yourself with is so important. These are the people that will either lift you up or kick you to the ground. They will either guide you to be the best person you can be or shove you into a path you were ever meant to experience. You were meant for amazing things, my love. And even when people forget to remind you or try and tear you down, I want you to remember that you were born to be you! You were born to shine and stand out! Now go out and fill your day with sunshine!
The yogis claims that of all the energies that are in the human body the highest is what they call “OJAS”. Now this Ojas is stored up in the brain, and the more Ojas is in the mans head, the more powerful he is, the more intellectual he is, and more spiritually strong.
One man may speak beautiful language and beautiful thoughts, but they do not impress people; another man speaks neither beautiful language nor beautiful thoughts, yet his words charm. Every moment of his is powerful. That is the power of Ojas.

Believe in yourself
Reposted from @yogi.jodie - It feels so wild when you come into new awareness of your own power.
You are literally capable of manifesting a whole new reality for yourself
and you know it deep down in your bones
that you are meant for bigger things.
It’s a soul quivering sense of power.
That this is just the very edge
of what you’re creating.
And it’s true- the higher you climb
the father down the fall could be... but man the view from up there is to die for

#Fashion is about self-expression, so the question is, who are you as a person?💁🏻♀️⠀
Choose your #style easily with YURIYASA’s pants, which can go from casual to chic to smart to dressy in an instant, simply by pairing it with different separates.⠀
✨For a casual look, pair the pants with a graphic crop top or even a plain camisole.⠀
✨For something a little smarter and chicer, your style #mantra should be “elevated basics”. Look for well-fitted pieces with a little more flair in terms of trims, buttons or details.⠀
✨For a dressy look, throwing on a fitted #blazer and a pair of pumps can make all the difference.⠀
Psychology shows that we should #dress , not based on how we feel, but how we want to feel, and who we want to be. ⠀
So go on and live large and live free. Because now you can.🙌🏼⠀

Practice Not Perfect!
Yoga is just this.... also life is. For real it’s something I’ve struggled with since I was a little girl- homework, dance class, drill team, college- I’ve strived for perfection but guess what? Perfection is not attainable. It’s a hard lesson to learn.... life is a journey of ups and downs.... sometimes you have success and failure at the same time, or I do at least. For me, I start my day with a list of things I’m grateful for- somedays they are the same thing. Somedays I’m reminded of memories that fill me with such joy, other days I struggle to find joy in a day. I have a good support system with friends, family, fur babies, coworkers, and new additions to the family come May! .
Practice not Perfection! In yoga, in life! Be Present in the journey because that is where learning and growth happens. Let yourself grow! .
🌈You are enough🌈 repeat after me: you are enough. Repeat it to yourself: I am enough. Repeat like a mantra: I am enough 🖤 there’s no one else like you, with your life experiences and your history and your dreams. You are perfect as you are, there is no other way you could be any other way. You don’t need me to tell you that you’re enough, but I do want you to know it. Love, Barry

"All things are difficult before they are easy" -Thomas Fuller-
I was reflecting on what happenned yesterday and I felt regret towards what I did. Today, I watched a video of @jennamarbles and she was saying that she doesn't like when people say they regret something because it sounds bad. She said to change the word "regret" by "I made the best decision at that time considering the circumstances". I do agree with that. It makes it sound less bad and life is too short to live with too much regrets. I do think we have to awknowledge our faults and be at peace with our decisions. Maybe now it seems like it was a bad idea but hey! At that time, it was the best decision for you, so don't feel bad about it. I just wanted to share this with all of you because I do cherrish this idea and it is one of the best advice I got ❤ .
We couldn’t feel prouder of @swayvery, who was recently part of this @adidaswomen collaboration with @hippie_heathen.
Together they discussed the importance of creating spaces where people of all genders, sexualities and cultures can feel comfortable, and what it means to be able to truly connect with their inner and outer being through asanas.
Yoga unites us with our minds, bodies, souls and the earth, bringing us closer to ourselves, each other and the world around us.

The song Hurt is a perfect storm of musical talents combined to make a song so strong it will either break your heart, or fix a broken one. A song of that power and magnitude is rare.
The writing credits to Hurt belong to Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails; the song was first introduced to the world in 1994 on the album The Downward Spiral. NIN’s version is heavy, and takes you to drug induced haze. It is a man desperate, lost in the world of drugs – stuck reliving his hurts with an addiction. This version has so much intensity, and so much emotion in Reznor’s voice.
In 2002, Cash covered Hurt and Reznor was in awe and announced in Rolling Stone magazine that Hurt belonged to Cash. Country singer Johnny Cash covering a Nine Inch Nails song is so odd that it’s perfect. This is my favourite song sung by Johnny Cash, it bleeds real, raw, truth and reflection that only a great classic song can induce. Go listen to the late @johnnycash
I’m a huge fan of graffiti culture and artists, for the style but really for the philosophy. Needing to express ourselves creatively, seeing the world as our canvas, edging out of social norms for the sake of creativity and evolving into new realms of possibility, challenging what’s acceptable...Yoga wasn’t always accessible to the masses. It was allotted to the richest caste of Indian society, and “street dwellers” couldn’t imagine being allowed to practice. But, one creative and rebellious doctor named Krishnamacharya challenged the norm of his time and systematically brought yoga to the common person. ✨🧘♀️ #lightinsideyoga#yogaforeveryone#graffitiart
