This wheel variation has been my fave to practice lately - it engages the quads in a whole new waaaay! Start with the bent knee variation first, and then try extending the leg out. If you want a challenge later, try lifting the leg while it’s already extended 😉 Check out both in the slideshow above :) Which do you like the look of more?

I think many of us, mid twenties, feel a bit lost. Kind of like we should have things figured out but we most definitely do not. Hey, maybe we actually feel like that all our lives but at this age haven’t quite realised that yet.

And so I guess I just wanted to say me too. Forgive yourself. Don’t worry about the whole picture. But can you take the next step?

  • Here are some fun exercises you can do to help you build more strength and endurance in the arms and core. The reps and sets are just suggestions, stay safe and work to YOUR capacity. The more you do it, the stronger you get but don’t compromise your form just to feel more accomplished...just showing up and trying makes you accomplished. Breathe and have fun my friends ❤️ happy playing!

For me it’s definitely a love/dislike relationship. So many good things & so many tasks that want to push me harder than I’m ready for. Let’s be honest though, how many times are we actually ready for all the blessings we receive?

Although the hollowback while inverted might be one of the most technically challenging yoga poses the prep is absolutely amazing to open up your upper back and shoudlers for more range and mobility. The first 3 videos are Prep your back to the hollowback shape, the last 4 videos are how to bring that shape while upside down.

  • Mimi says King Dancer Pose!

Mindful Me Monday... Meet Mimi! She is the queen of "Mimi says"! During her volunteer time at Truman Elementary she wanted to find a way to get the 4th graders to remember the poses.

So she came up with a yoga game much like "Simon says" but with the yoga twist.

First off she starts the kids with breathing and calming exercises then goes into different poses where they all do the pose and name it. 
At the end of class they start "Mimi says"! If the pose gets a "Mimi says" in front of the pose- we enter into it, if she doesn't say "Mimi says" and the kids do it anyway we all giggle or give a "oh rats" and start over. 
Phrases like "good listeners," "mindfully listening, " "good focus" and "great job paying attention" are heard throughout the game. 
We come up with creative ways to keep the kids interacting, breathing and being mindful throughout their day. 
And the kids love it! Throughout the whole session the kids will say "I can't wait till we get to Mimi says."😍 #mindfulme #simonsays #yogakids

Where there’s no queer or trans folks? Where everyone is “fit”? What a great starting point for this important inquiry... This is one reason special spaces from queer trans BIPOC big bodied folks is so important in the unjust modern cultural environment.

Hell, these aren’t even yoga pants, they’re wal-mart cotton flare black pants rolled up 😳😅 BUT at this point in my life school simply is the priority, along with my mental/physical/emotional well-being. So this means Instagram is definitely on the back burner. And that’s completely okay!! But I am still here. Still practicing. Sending love out to you all 💓 & Happy Monday!!
