Exploring @marchesibarolo historical cellars, where the story began more than 200 years ago..
In this cellar located in the heart of the village of Barolo surrounded by the gentle hills of Langhe, a wine that would become one of the greatest Italian wines was born.
The story begins in 1807, when the Marquis of Barolo Carlo Tancredi Falletti married Juliette Colbert de Maulévrier, a French noblewoman who saw the great potential of the wine made in Barolo since ancient times.
After the death of Carlo in 1838, Juliette invited the legendary oenoalogist Louis Oudart to her estates in order to improve the winemaking techniques. Oudart started to ferment the Nebbiolo grape must completely dry, making the first modern Barolo (before this, Barolo was a sweet wine). Powerful, austere, and able to age for decades and to express the full potential of this incredible terroir, this “new”, dry red wine was named after the village where it was made for the first time. Barolo soon became so popular that its name reached King Carlo Alberto of Savoy ears. By royal request, originated in the curiosity for a wine that was becoming popular in the courts all around Europe, Juliette sent 325 wagons to the King. Each wagon contained a barrel of Barolo, one for each day of the year (save for the 40 days of Lent), so that the King and his court could enjoy the Marquise’s wine every day of the year. And that’s how in the Court of Torino Barolo was known as “the wine of kings, king of wines“. #drinkstories
Raveneau Chablis Butteaux 01. Light tint of pale yellow, chrysanthemum flowers, white stones and a dash of sea salt. Wonderfully integrated, energetic and long. Another lovely aged Chablis found in the wilderness.

Let’s get yet another week started🥂💃
Laurent Perrier Cuvée rosé🍓
Laurent Perrier first released this rosé in 1968, well before it became fashionable to have a pink-hued Champagne in the portfolio. 100% Pinot Noir is sourced from both the north and south sectors of the Montagne de Reims sub-region, and famously draws its colour from skin contact rather than the more usual addition of red wine. It has striking freshness on the nose, bags of pure, zippy strawberry and raspberry fruit flavours, and satisfying vivacity. It's beautifully balanced with a long finish, and calls for a carpaccio of raw salmon.
🇬🇧 Vines as far as the eye can see! This photo captures our vineyard last spring, on the cusp of the season's change as the vines begin to flourish. Having recently completed the important task of pruning, we can't wait to see the landscape transform once again over the coming months!
I honestly had one of the best weekends ever 🥟💃🏻 🍷 First time making Pierogi and finally went out to Heaven (a club in London I loved and stayed in till the end 😄). Met some great people, had interesting conversations and couldn’t stop laughing 💃🏻
Being a psychologist (especially working in therapy) can get very heavy.
I truly LOVE that heaviness to be honest because it gives me meaning and depth. I’m very passionate about it, but I also really need to balance it with super “light” nights and dancing all night and not being anyone’s therapist 🍷🥂🍸🍹🍾 I always loved going out and being really social and I feel like these nights are partially what makes me able to accept and hold that heaviness when it’s time to be someone’s emotional container (especially if you’re very extroverted like me). Maintaining that part of myself is really important to me - balance is life. For many other therapists I suppose that balance could mean different things and they might achieve it through meditation or connecting to nature. We’re all different but I think we all need that balance between heaviness and lightness, whatever these concepts mean to us, in whatever ways feel true to us 😊We really need it 🙏🏼. .

The arrival of the third Rambla PH outpost right smack on a quiet tree lined street in the heart of Salcedo Village, was a truly lively, energetic and spirited evening that many still talk about to this day. More than tasty samples and morsels of salmon and other specialities being carried through the room, the gin and tonics and other copious amounts of spirited arsenals, or the twirling and dancing to our past high school anthems, it's the heart and consideration of the gentlemen of Bistronomia that have conjured the perfect storm: running a tight ship and never resting on their laurels. It helps that they're magnetic, super amable and muy simpatico as well, and in typical Rambla fashion (since Madrid Fusion Manila) they bring in the spirit, chika and fun, bar none ( especially Senor Aliaga grabe) 😊❤️😊 Congratulations and super thanks for having us Dani, Sergi, Uri and Anton Barretto 👏👏👏We had a wonderful time and a super fun evening! Hope to be back soon 😊😊😊 #handpickedbyronandchris#happydiscerninginspired#ramblaph#bistronomiaph#bistronomia#rambla#salcedovillage#spanish #tapas#reataurant#food#wine#opening#dinner#drinks#makati#lifestyleblogger#lifestyle#lifestyleblog#foodenthusiast

This is Roccia Rossa Metodo Classico Brut Rose aka Sparkling Nebbiolo and is a blast to drink and smell. Before I get into the tasting note by all logic, making Rose Sparkling Wine out of Nebbiolo makes sense. Nebbiolo is considered the Pinot Noir of Italy and the French certainly do make some damn fine Sparkling Pinot Noir in a place called Champagne. So all the ingredients are there for a great wine and a great wine is what we have. There is nothing like tasting greatness out of left field. Bramaterra is left of left field. There is nothing around, nothing is going on and I saw not one single other person during my tasting or vineyard visit with the great Davide Molinetti of Roccia Rossa. If I could pick a least expected place to taste a new great wine that with the potential to be a new category it was in Bramaterra. Davide was eager for me to taste it after I asked him about it as usually that's not what one asks for. But that's how I roll. The wine is spectacular. It's all from the epic 2013 vintage and truly left me stammering. Gorgeous nose. Toasty, yeasty, mineral with gorgeously refined and vivid white cherries. The palate is very elegant and so delicate. The finesse and breeding of these wine is unbelievable. But one only has to taste Davide's stunningly elegant and achingly beautiful Bramaterra from 2013 to get why this sparkler is so delicate and refined. That's is his style. The wines are all like the softest satin but sacrificing no structural integrity. These will all age for a long time. The palate has just amazing complexity. That's what intrigues you and the delicacy and texture are what keep you sipping more and more. The mousse is so delicate and fine and really incredibly impressive. Really great acidity and just incredible detailed minerality. Honestly, my note says that the "minerality rocks the palate to every corner" which makes no sense because your palate has no corners, but you get the idea. Lovely citrus fruit and nice sap. Really incredibly stunning juiciness. There is not a lot of autolytic tastes or aromas as the terroir shines through in the form of a very low dosage and incredible minerality.
