When i say “i don’t trust government”, this is exactly what I’m talking about!
A bunch of people looking out for their own interests only.
I love the USA, not our government. @dancrenshawtx thank you for taking a stand on the inside of government.
The Prime Minister of Finland, Juha Sipilä, announced on March 8th, 37 days before the general elections, that the coalition government would resign. Finland previously has had a very devoted health care system but "spending has declined over recent years" and future growth in spending was also seeked to be reduced (Reuters). Furthermore, this government was not able to pass thorough reforms in health and social care that it perceived as necessary. Other issues include other "budget cuts", workers having to do more work for lower income, the "penalizing" of "jobless people who fail to show they are actively seeking to improve their situation,” and allowing for more competitiveness between taxi companies (Bloomberg). Hence, 60% of Finish people, according to a poll by newspaper Helsingin Sanomat, is said to agree with the resignation of the government. The government will still perform its functions as a "caretaker" before the elections take place. I proudly voted Greens today, because I believe we should always strive to make the world a better place. Equity and environmental advocacy have always been close to my heart, and is at the heart of my choice to become a teacher. I want all kids to have every opportunity to be their most awesome selves, and a planet which can support them to do so. So I vote with my heart.
I have to vote today. I've noticed the last few times I've had to vote for various things, there are people handing out flyers who can't accept I'm not interested or they keep pushing their flyer on me and asking why I'm not interested in supporting their person or political party. Sooo I have made a list of questions I am going to ask in return. I have more to add to the list later 😂 #voting#politics#howtoadult#leavemealone#hardhitting#questions#tellme#notsorry

#Voting Day 😎😎😎 Remember that the decisions we make today, affects our children and their children's children's future.
My vote counts and I am privileged to be able to vote. Here in Australia we sometimes forget there are many in the world that never have this right. Good on us for turning this into a democratic sausage sizzle day. Picture of my $2 used book, $1 handmade card and my $3 afternoon tea. All supporting the local school. Sorry no pics of the democratic sausage, yummy and gone.

Voting day in NSW (winces). Not remotely confident about the outcome but that's all the more reason to tell any undecided's you know today to vote and vote Labor. There is WAY too much at stake.
If the Liberals get in again there will be more privatized hospitals, more privatized prisons, more privatization of the electricity grid and transportation services, privatization of the disability service, all of these privatizations by the way will not only lead to huge inefficiencies but human deaths as profit becomes more important than safety and outcomes.
The 1000 native species the NSW Liberals have put on the endangered list will likely go extinct as in order to secure donations from mega farms, they're allowing an area of land in NSW to be cleared each and every year that is only rivaled by how much land Brazil clears. The Murray Darling will be permanently and badly damaged (already has been). Again to benefit no one except their donors in the cotton industry. The money they're raising from privatizing these vital public assets (always handed over to their donors for way less than it's worth just so you know) will be used to build more useless infrastructure like Westconnex that does absolutely nothing to solve traffic congestion - and that's the point.
The NSW Liberals don't want more public transport (they're privatizing that too) They want to force the poorest citizens of Sydney to pay hundreds of dollars a week to their donor Transurban in road tolls. That's their grand vision of Sydney. Permanent grid lock and turning Sydney's West into shitty, over developed slums. Approving apartment blocks by the thousands with no concern for planning. Just wherever their donors in property development want to build them and to hell with it if they catch on fire like a tissue.
A lot of this is too far gone for Michael Daley (Labor opposition) to do anything about now. But he's the only thing standing in the way from this grand scale, unprecedented, legalized corruption getting much, much worse. In all honesty in the ten years I've been researching politics I've never been more scared about the outcome of an election.
Born June 21, 1983 Edward Snowden is an American computer scientist, former CIA employee, former American intelligence contractor, and to some a patriot who is best known for his reveal of classified NSA information in 2013. Snowden took national spotlight when he revealed multiple global surveillance programs ran by the NSA and Five Eyes Intelligence Agency. After working for the NSA, Snowden went to Hong Kong to meet with journalists to reveal classified NSA documents to The Washington Post and The Guardian. After revealing classified information, the US government charged Snowden with espionage and theft of government information. In response, Snowden escaped to Russia seeking asylum. Edward Snowden’s current whereabouts are unknown, many speculating that he lives in Moscow. Edward Snowden is the subject of an international debate over government secrecy and surveillance. Snowden is many things to many people; he has been called a whistleblower, patriot, traitor and American hero.

Having a bite of #democracysausage .
Ugh I swear voting gets harder and harder. And that inevitable feeling of despair that no matter how I vote, the Liberals are going to win the seat in where I live (safe Liberal haven 🤮) Still I put my preferences in, hoping that it will matter somehow. One could always hope.
Now crawling back to bed as I’m feeling quite unwell today.
While there are plenty of things wrong with Aussie politics - how wonderful is it to be back in a country that has compulsory voting (and the little election day festivals at every local primary school)!! Can't help but wonder what state the UK and USA would be in now if they had the same policy... #sillybigballotpapers #democracysausage #voting #yourvotematters

I'm doing my bit today to support the Labour party, the Liberals didn't even bother to show up for my booth because it's a poor area. Says a lot about their attitude! I believe politics should be for the people and doing what's right by them!
