'Vegan influencers' eating animals.👇
Have you noticed how many of these people do extreme stuff like 349438349832g of fiber 🤯 in their raw diet per day then complain about bloating (look at the food volume they consume) of course you will be carrying that same volume inside your gut 💩🤬, or uber long fasts (then frustrated with lethergy etc.😩 Of course you will feel tired in that kind of prolonged energy deficit) and just generally presenting many disordered eating patterns.. It's more of a psychological issue than we know.
First off.. It kind of bewilders me with the amount of great plant based gut doctors and other MD's, dietitians available they wouldn't go to these people for counsel first. Secondly, changing their diet is a bandaid on the bullet wound. Their disordered psychology is the real issue. Ya got to heal that first.🙏❤
I went vegan 5 years ago now for ethical-spiritual reasons and I just KNEW I had to figure the health part out. For me there was NO plan B. No 'out clause'. I just HAD to make it work.👊🌿
Sure there was a transition period. It actually took me a few years to truly optimize my gut I feel. Not everyone gets miraculous changes on day one. Remember that. For me this is my life now and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. Cliche, but.. Vegan for life. Love this way of living. Tap that heart if you feel like this resonates🌿❤🔥
So after thinking this over for some time now, I’m no longer going to call myself a vegan. Hold your horses ... I’m still vegan, but I don’t need a label to tell me who I am. Honestly, I’m disgusted and appalled with some people in the vegan community. I’ve never felt so scrutinized and bullied in my whole life.
It’s sad to think that a lifestyle built on better one’s life and the lives of others would be supportive, but nope. Nothing but backlash and scrutiny day after day. From now on, what I eat and how I prepare it is my business and if anyone else has something negative to say, you will be automatically blocked because I’m tired of the bulls**t ✌🏽
Sorry not sorry for snapping, but after almost 6 months of the consistent negativity from “perfect” vegans, I’ve had it. #DoneWithCallingMyselfVegan

CLEAN GAINING MACROS💪🏻🌿
This is very similar to the macro breakdown I used to to gain 25lbs in 11 weeks and how I teach my coaching students to eat - whether their goal is weight loss - or weight gain - same deal.
✅ ANABOLIC CARBS 60-70% - bulk of your food from plant based whole food carbs - complex carbs - predominantly starchy carbs, vegetables, fruits, oats, wholewheat pasta - etc. Carbs will NOT make you fat. I ate nearly 800 bananas over my 11 week bulking transformation and kept my abs 😆👈🏼🍌
✅ ENOUGH PROTEIN 15-20% - don’t stress about it, you need it for sure to build muscle but if you’re eating real food in abundance your diet will be full of it. You can also supplement with some plant based protein powders - once a day will do - you don’t need to be drinking pre and post workout protein shakes every day.
✅ HEALTH FATS 10-15% - how tasty are plant based FATS 😋 - just be careful on quantity because they are very calorie dense but this is mostly an advantage for a skinny guy / hardgainer 🙌🏼
These whole food plant based food sources are guaranteed to jack your muscles, jack your energy, jack your recovery and MOST importantly - jack your health
EAT CLEAN, TRAIN MEAN.

Humans need about 10 percent of calories from protein. Virtually all whole plant foods contain at least this amount, so if you consume enough volume and variety of whole plant foods, your protein requirement will easily be met. -
Same applies to muscle building and athletes too, who are often thought to require larger amounts of protein to sustain muscle size and optimize performance. However, athletes have increased overall calorie requirements, so when they boost their intake of whole plant foods, they automatically meet their greater need for all of the macronutrients, including protein.
When it comes to protein, it is not about consuming as much as we can, but rather consuming the right amount. Whole plant foods, as provided in nature, offer the ideal amount of protein necessary for growth, maintenance, and functioning of metabolic processes.
💪🏼If you’re bulking then there really is not even any need to supplement protein if you’re eating a truly well balanced whole food plant based diet with a high calorie count. -
On a high carb diet eating around 3-3.5k calories per day you’ll be topping 100grams of protein without any trouble - and yes - that’s enough protein to build muscle.
🙌🏼🌱Plants got everything you need. Nature provided everything we need. Human’s sadly ‘evolved’ and took things into their own foolish hands.
Keep it real 🙏🏻

Thanks for supporting the show - I’ve updated the artwork for the podcast because a few of you thought the old cover image looked like I was sitting on the toilet ... I wasn’t 😂. Episode 60 with @ziggyalberts up this weekend - hard to believe he was gifted a guitar just 8 years ago and that was the start of his journey. A powerful voice on and off the stage. Super sets and giant sets are a great way to increase intensity in your workouts while reducing the total time training.
I love creating flows like this where limited equipment is needed.
This is great for a chest and back day finisher as you can perform these isolation exercises after the heavier compound lifts. Or as a warm up/activation sequence for the pecs, lats and rear deltoids - which are important for helping stabilise the shoulder when pressing.
Such a warming bowl of goodness from one of my fave restaurants (Beyond Sushi)! This is a bit of a throwback meal from my trip to NYC, which was quite a while ago but there was so much good food that I still have pics I hadn’t posted yet! 😋
The Cable Plank Row... AKA a favourite exercise of mine that I’d completely forgotten about until the other day!
These are a MUCH better oblique exercise to include in your training over side crunches or those standing plate ab crunches I see people doing 👉🏻 literally you’re just going to tear your oblique like a young & naive gym bro Sinead once did🤫
Why are Cable Plank Rows so good? Because you are able to LOAD up & to perform the movement correctly you HAVE TO BRACE! So no torn obliques are going to happen #phew
Plus they also incorporate your back & biceps too 💪🏻 (Abs, Back & Bi’s.. what a combo 😍👌🏻) You’ll notice that when I swap sides, my hips begin to tilt. This is a sign of weakness 🙄 we DON’T want to see this happening! Ideally, try keep your hips level the whole time by squeezing literally everything!
Start by going from your knees, then once you’re hips are stable you can progress onto your toes. The wider your feet are, the easier it will be. If you have your feet narrow; the harder it will be!
Let me know if you give these a go! They’re one of those challenging but fun exercises that you can get quite competitive with yourself on! #thegrounduppt

🙌🏽Long term consistency trumps short term intensity🙌🏽
. What do I mean by that? I mean, if your goal is to gain muscle💪🏽 then you have to be consistent with your workouts and your nutrition as well as sleep and managing stress levels. If one of those aspects is off then your results will suffer🤦🏽♀️. If your goal is to lose weight, then just eating salads 🥗for a week straight and then eating whatever the heck you want for the rest of the month isn’t going to cut it. You need to make sure that you are consistently being in a caloric deficit, managing your stress levels and getting proper sleep. If one of these things are off, your results will suffer. .
WANT TO BURN FAT???
Just 4 days into my cut and I’ve been getting a lot of questions about what I’m taking during my cut to get the fast results that I am known for.
Obviously proper diet and training are the essential key steps to getting a great physique.
But knowing how to supplement properly can be the difference between getting to your dream body in 8 weeks as opposed to 12 weeks.
Are you taking the right supplements to get you efficiently to your goals?
Most people waste money on unnecessary junk or things that are not purposefully geared towards their exact goals.

This is a lentil stew and dumplings. I made it in the slow cooker so has been filling my kitchen with delicious smells all afternoon 😋
Enjoying all the veggies, plantains, beans and avocado that we can fit successful. Recipe for the beans is below, but they were my attempt to match the yummy beans. ☺️
Garlic Infused Beans
1 can black beans, rinse and drained
1 can chickpeas, rinsed and drained
1 tsp hot sauce,
2-3 tsp of minced garlic
2-3 tsp to adobo seasoning
1/3 cup veggie broth
3-4 scallions, remove roots and thinly slice
Pinch of salt 🥣
Allow onion and minced garlic to cook until fragrant. Add in remaining ingredients and allow to heat through. Once veggie broth has cooked off, adjust seasonings to preference. Then serve as desired! 👏🏽 Follow @bodbyvegan

#FlashbackFriday to November, 22 2014...the Egyptian Theater in the town of DeKalb, IL. The town where my competing began! Some weird energy about me and this town. I went to college there. I also experienced one of the greatest heartbreaks of my life there, and then 20 years later returned to experience a happy high of success 💪👙🏆. ✔️ My first show was a bucket list item at 41. I won masters bikini and received a pro card. Was it premature? Maybe. But it had to be, for that next challenge kept me going down this path or I wouldn't have. My next show was pro and I took second place in masters. Little did I know I was really training for the most special show, my third show... The world's first all vegan bodybuilding show! I took first in my class again 💪. Such proud moments for this vegan. Let's talk about open class. My first show I did not place. My second show I placed 5th and my third show I placed 4th. It would be a dream to place top 3 in the open class against all the ages (mostly half my age) and I'll be back in this crazy little town of DeKalb on April 13th to feel and see just how far I've come! After all, I didn't come this far to stop now. I'm all signed up!
PS. The reason I'm able to compete again in masters OCB as well as open class is because they now offer a different pro card. Their own! So that's exciting ☺️. See you soon Dekalb!!!

🔥 The principles of fat loss🔥
Follow @dancudes !
One of the key factors that I speak about when it comes to fat loss is living a lifestyle, not a fad. When you treat everything as a lifestyle, you begin to develop habits that unconsciously make losing fat so easy. On the other hand, when you follow a fad, you generally are going to fall off the wagon quite quickly and get right back where you originally started if not at a worse place. When I say living a lifestyle, I mean developing the foundations of nutrition which is whole food without overeating, as simple as that is yet few understand. Once you have that, then we can talk about the other things involved. So, in terms of fat loss, you need to first have the foundation of eating whole foods and putting yourself in a caloric deficit through exertion. To lose body fat, being in a caloric deficit is important, but not as important as how you get there. We want it through exertion not food restriction. This means eating what your body needs in whole foods, then burning off extra calories through exerting more energy. That can be an extra walk, extra cardio work in the gym post strength training, etc. Once you have that, the next most important thing is strength training to build lean muscle mass. The more you have, the easier it is to lean out whilst getting stronger and more shapely. Then we can talk about sleep which some may even argue to be more important than strength training and honestly I wouldn't disagree all that much. Then we can get to the nitty gritty like protein intake, nutrient timing and even meal composition. You got to have the foundation before we get to the other players involved. Do you agree with this pyramid? Let me know in the comments below.
