  • [Trigger: ableism] As some of you might know, I post here mainly about the situation with the #DWP. Usually, I choose a general approach and link the articles I use, so ppl can read them themselves. This post is personal. My bf encouraged me to share my site of the story. So, Hi, that's me. I recently finished my M.A. in Media Studies in Berlin (i am german). I wrote my thesis last year until february this year. At the same time my bf struggled to survive bc of a wrong decision made by the DWP. I talked about my bf's story earlier. And I will continue. Honestly, I am too afraid to go into details bc you never know who sees the posts and I dont want to cause further damage, yet I want to share (with his consent) my bf's story or our story. To see the one you love suffering bc some people in the gov. decide that poor people, disabled people, ill people and basically all people aside from themselves are worthless, really gets me down. For more than a year my bf is not given any money or any kind of support so that he could really live with some kind of dignity (if ESA and dignity can be named in the same sentence). In the beginning I oscillated between shock and optimism. You can try to be positive for half a year without hearing anything. Maybe some couple of months more. "Soon, soon..." I kept on saying. We tried to do the best out of the situation. We still do but it's hard. And with a look to the statistics I told myself "things could be worse". My bf suffers depression. Hard enough for him, but he tries his best and is so strong. For more than a year now - after the DWP stopped ESA - nothing has changed. No dates, no information, not even a working telephone number or anything to get in contact with anyone from the DWP. Even after a judge in court decided that my bf was right and should be re-funded nearly half a year ago, nothing has changed. Nothing. During 2018 I sometimes didnt have the energy to get out of bed and often had no focus to work on my thesis bc of this situation for example. That's not me. It is hard to see the one you love losing energy and not being able to...live. Is there anyone in similar situation?
