Part of the fun of staying at a ryokan is enjoying the view from your private hot tub🤩How about you, would you like to visit a Japanese traditional hotel?
Sometimes selecting a perfect ryokan is more challenging than selecting any other hotel😅
Here’s my little guide to HOW TO CHOOSE AND BOOK A RYOKAN✌🏼
. ❤️Luxurious ryokan rooms with mesmerizing view and private onsen are pricey (a couple of days may even cost you a Japanese average monthly salary😂), but definitely worth the experience☺️
— you can find them all over the country, so get off the beaten Tokyo-Hakone-Kyoto travel circuit and discover your own Japan! We personally prefer coast region ones with beautiful ocean views🌅
— the peak seasons in Japan are in the spring🌸(March/April) and in the autum🍁(October/November) If you are planning to go during these months, then you should book months in advance👆🏼In the most popular tourist destination, like Kyoto, entire ryokans are booked years in advance by school/company trips😅
— rates at ryokans are not on a “per-room basis”, but on a “per-person basis”, so they can be quite expensive for families (child rates are sometimes not available, in some cases single travelers aren’t welcome as well)😉
Rates are also inclusive of dinner and breakfast - very impressive traditional “kaiseki” multi-courses(a lot of food)🤤by the way, you are not free to choose what you want to eat, it’s all prepared for you in advance!😜that’s why if you have any allergies or special diets, make sure to let the hotel know prior to your reservation!
. ⚠️Sometimes you’ll have to search by meal plans —> then choose your room —> and only after the available date🤓because if you start with the calendar some of the meal plans may be unavailable so you won’t be able to make a reservation😬🤷🏼♀️
Also don’t forget many ryokans don’t have room service, so if you suddenly get hungry at night, you won’t be able to order any light meals🙈
This week we travel to Tokyo, Japan! 🇯🇵Japanese fans were initially used to write on to communicate messages and even as a weapon. Now used to keep cool or for fashion, here’s a folding fan by Supreme in collab with Japanese fashion brand, Sasquatchfabrix. #tokyo#japan#foldingfan#supreme#sasquatchfabrix
Pozar Thermal Springs | Imagine yourself in a pool amidst steep rocks, natural waterfalls & wild vegetation. Feel the soothing warmth of the water (37°C) taking the strain off your body, and let your eyes wander around the verdant gorge where St. Nicholas stream flows. Welcome to Loutra Pozar!
Only the mirror can dispassionately recite the tale of my plight
The heights from which I have fallen and the depth of darkness into which I am yet to be drowned
She reveals a fragmented landscape, foreign to my denouncing eyes -- and forbids me to forget, to take refuge
from all the pretenses and the lies.
O mirro, mirror how coldly you deflect all the obscenities that I project; rendering my protestation toothless ---
dragging me out of the fog
to burn out the remains of the days
under the blistering sun.
