  • Half Marathon #15 done in 1:50!! Along with a 4 minute PR and 3rd place in my age group. I made it a goal to try and get a 1:50 half marathon time this year, but I didn’t really think I could do it. Something about today, with the weather and a nice course, and I was flying! I ran 8:30-8:45s for the first half, and ramped it up to 815s for the last few miles. Don’t think I’ve ever kept up a speed like that for that long! Speedwork and strength training really does help! .

  • I don’t think I could have worn a more perfect tank. This is probably the fastest I’ve ever run this distance. I’ve been working on speedwork and could definitely tell the difference. At one point I was pacing at a 7:50 and it felt good! 8 miles in the books before next weekend’s half!

  • It doesn’t take any convincing to choose @denis__morton as my instructor of choice for my rides, my only question is, which ride? Today’s ride was a 45 min Rock Ride and all I needed to make that choice was seeing Foo Fighters on the playlist. No other instructor speaks my music language quite like Denis, no matter the theme of the ride. I already know that the ride will be challenging, so having a kick ass playlist is a solid way to ensure the motivation stays alive. And had I known I’d rocking out on my ride, I definitely would have ditched the 6 year old braids and styled it a bit more edgy. 👩🏼‍🎤😂 Wrapped up my workout with a full body weight session since I was overflowing with endorphins. My 🍑 already hurts, so I expect to wake up looking like JLo tomorrow. #isthattoomuchtoask Happy Saturday Friends!!

Warwickshire/Worcestershire combined County Cross Country Championships 2019 🏃🏻‍♂️

Unfortunately, I was unable to defend my county title yesterday, but managed to grab myself 2nd place 🥈(6th overall) and a guaranteed spot in the inter-counties to represent Worcestershire. “..I’d rather be a 🍐 than a bear 🐻..”

The thing I’m most pleased about, is how I felt during the race; Relaxed but still moving at pace, attacking when I could sense others struggling,  and managing to hold off surges. I haven’t felt this good about a race in a long time, most importantly I throughly enjoyed it 😃

I had a great battle with Ed Banks (Birchfield, 658) and Callum Hanlon (Leamington, 705) throughout, the three of us were inseparable for the entire race, with the lead changing on many occasions. I managed to push hard on the final hill and drop a ⚙️coming down to beat them. We will lock horns again next week in the third Birmingham league fixture, I’m pretty sure they’ll be looking for revenge 😝

Easy does it! Another easy 8k in the bag and this time I really did try to take things down a notch. I could sense my legs craving speed but tried to save it for the 6x20s strides at the end [4:47, 4:46, 4:36, 4:39, 4:19, 4:31/km].

So far I've been having minimal to no pain. Rest and easing back into my runs have been helping a lot. That's been the focus instead of returning immediately to the higher mileage and workouts. Hoping that things continue this way when I return to speedwork! 🤞Now time to devour that sushi!! 😁

  • Rock n’ Fly Half Marathon

Second year doing this race and I absolutely love it. Team RWB shows up in force and are tremendously supportive. 
Opted to ruck due to a decline in my running the past few weeks. So thankful for my ruck buddy for helping me push through. 
30lb dry weight. Probably should have just done 20... Can’t wait to do it again next year!

Hey, it’s been a minute or so... For the last few weeks I’ve made some adjustments in my training and in life and it had more disappointing moments than I’d like to admit, but I’m still over here doing the work and continuing to show up. Today’s workout was a glimpse of everything coming back together.
Keep on keeping on... Let’s go!

  • What a great morning! I crushed a new half PR this morning at #phoenixpriderun. I really didn’t have very high expectations for what I’d be able to do this morning with my recent schedule and I don’t feel I trained properly, but I found a good grove pretty early and was able to ride it through. Great seeing some friends I wasn’t expecting to see too. 
Most importantly, it was a great celebration of #IDEA : Inclusion, Diversity, Equality, Acceptance.

Is that I’m suddenly finding them everywhere,
Including spaces that used to make me uncomfortable. 
I am comfortable with being in distress.
I am comfortable with redlining.
I am comfortable with pushing my limits.
I am comfortable with being hungry for more.
The depths of training and chasing my best self
Have become my comfort zone, 
And I wouldn’t leave it if I could. ✨

Once again having fun and trying to look ridiculous. I'll leave out what we were actually excited about but I'm sure most of us runners can relate and have had to shoot one at least once. 🤧😄 I know, gross. 😆 Thankfully the river level has gone down but it left part of the path covered in sand. So glad all the ice and snow has finally melted away. .
Watch said we ran 13.6 miles but it had a hiccup. We actually ran about a quarter of a mile more. #Saturdaylongrun just shy of 14 miles. Starting to freak out a bit!

I was supposed to be playing football today but the opposition couldn’t raise a team, so I took advantage of the nice weather and headed out across the #Fens!

I’m actually looking at a dog in the picture and the camera went off just as I looked 🙈. I had ran past it not long before and it seemed to have caught up with me and for a split second, I genuinely thought it was hunting me down 😅.
(He was a good boy and got the fusses, s’all good🐶)

    I’m actually looking at a dog in the picture and the camera went off just as I looked 🙈. I had ran past it not long before and it seemed to have caught up with me and for a split second, I genuinely thought it was hunting me down 😅.
    (He was a good boy and got the fusses, s’all good🐶)
