  • im over instagram being so fake. i have been seeing the same stuff over and over and honestly not feeling as motivated. I want to share what makes me happy and keeps me going. I am going to post what I want and I know my page might take a hit. The likes and comments are just things but sharing what I love means so much more than trying to blend in. I try to keep it real (except my spray tan lol) lets leave perfection behind 💗

  • How am I “preparing” for summer ?🌞👙

I’m not looking to do a drastic cut this year in preparation for summer and don’t plan on hopping back on the macro tracking train! 🚂 I have been LOVING intuitive eating and plan on making small changes to hopefully create a slight deficit for weight loss and here’s how! 🤗⤵️

1️⃣ Intermittent fasting- By pushing my first meal back till later in the day it gives me a smaller window of time to eat. This will allow me to have bigger meals and still maintain a caloric deficit without feeling starved! 🥘😋
2️⃣ Being mindful 🧠- Being mindful of portion size, steering clear of mindless eating, and simply picking healthier options can go a long way! 🥗
3️⃣ Cardio - Adding in a little bit of cardio to my training sessions will also help make a dent in a deficit. 🏃🏽‍♀️ Remember cardio is just a tool to help you along the way and isn’t necessarily a necessity if your diet is on point! ❤️

  • My home yoga practice, over the past several months, has been the most consistent since I started teaching(no I’m really not all that’s perfect), and yet from insta I don’t think you would know that. I don’t post so much about my personal practice, progress, goals or victories anymore.

Because what I came to realise is that trying to be ‘perfect’ at yoga had become a road block. And so I made the conscious decision to separate the two. Social media was a great driver and motivator when I first began, but I actually fell in love with yoga because of how it made ME FEEL. Not because of the outside validation it could bring.

My self practice no longer felt intuitive or like self care, but instead something slightly forced. I found that even if I didn’t want my yoga to be influenced by social media, making a photo or video aesthetically pleasing meant that it would be; for instance, the time of day (good lighting) or even what I did (backbend goals). I think it felt wrong and jarring because I knew it clashed with my values and the real reason I practice. Does that make sense to you too?

I have been slowly moving away from posting as much about my practice for a couple of years now, but really feel I’ve nailed it since September when I went to @patrickbeach and @carlingnicole workshop and was reminded why I love yoga just so much. 
Practicing just for me, I think, makes me an all round better teacher and human. Because it provides the space to explore me - the ideas, imperfections, strengths, weakness, the pretty, the messy - as opposed to what I think I should find. Which really isn’t the idea at all. 
And so my tip? After this much longer than expected ramble? Get back to your roots. What kind of yoga do you love most? Do you like groups or being on your own? Why did you fall in love with this practice in the first place?

For years, I had been uncomfortable wearing anything above my knees.
Reasons: bruises on my legs, thick thighs, no thigh gap🤦🏻‍♀️, not so flattering calf muscles, cellulite, stretch marks and the list goes on...

It was not until summer of 2017, after ~ 18-20 weeks of #BBG that I started feeling confident in shorts and no, I still have bruises and cellulite and thick legs😬

I know you can think that its easy for me to say that ‘wear the damn shorts’ because I am already in good shape, but really its all about mindset.

We are our worst critique. So stop letting yourself down and go wear something you want to, not what you think you should👊🏻👏🏻🙌🏻 Because nothing is more attractive than a woman who carries herself like a queen and wears her confidence like a crown👸🏻

  • it’s Monday and we are feeling super motivated today ✨
I definitely find Monday’s the easiest days to eat healthy as I’m at work for 11 hours and only quickly run home midday most Mondays
Since it was a busier day I just squeezed in some biceps, core, cardio (lowley excited and already have my leg day prepped for tomorrow though) 🌟workout:
-Leg raises ss cable crunch
-plank ss Russian twists

Sorry I’ve been a bit irregular with posts, but for me it’s actually a good thing! .

I love social media, but I also want to live my life in the real world. Usually when my posting is erratic I’m busy as hell and loving life! People always assume when you’re active on social and share a lot that you’re always in a good place and to be honest I don’t necessarily think that’s always the case. Sometimes it can just be a distraction, especially if you’re feeling a little lonely! I know it has been for me in the past! So apologies for neglecting this a little, but work and life is hectic as hell in the best of ways💕

Here’s another workout for days when you're short on time. Employing a single piece of equipment + same position of the barbell saves a ton of time. Cheers to fully blasting glutes 🍑 + legs🦵🏼with serious cardio ❤️ benefit!

1 BARBELL WORKOUT 🏋🏻‍♀️ Complete sequence of exercises 1-4 without rest. Rest 1-2 minute between rounds. 
1️⃣Kneeling Squat  x15
2️⃣Alternating Kneeling Stepup  x10/leg
3️⃣Squat + 1/4 Squat  x15
4️⃣Curtsy Lunge  x10/leg

HOW TO SELECT WEIGHT?
Need a weight that permits you to do all exercises. Because Exercises 1+2 isolate 1 leg at a time, they are the most challenging as weight increases. Go with the most weight you can maintain proper form on those Alternating Kneeling Stepups + Curtsy Lunges. Note: here, I’m only using 65lb!

I want you to know that the world isn’t an easy place to grow up in. I so badly want to protect you from it all, but I also want to give you wings. So as you grow older, you’ll continue to hear a lot of conflicting views about who you are, what you should strive to be like, and how you can achieve that image. 
I pray that you will know where your true value is; and that is in Jesus Christ alone. Because only when you are confident in Him, will you never question your worth. And when you do make mistakes, you don’t have to be fearful about coming to me, because I will still value you, forgive you, and love you in spite of anything you could ever do.
