  • "90 days on the roads"

If you remember the Chennai Guys I met in Rajasthan. You'd recognize Mr. Senthil who offered me to stay with him in Chennai. Well I'm staying with him. What you don't know is he wrote an article about me in a reader's group and it got viral. And 'Mr. B. Jeyamohan' (a very famous Tamil philosopher, writer and critics etc) shared it on his website. Since last 3 weeks Ive been getting a lot of followers from Tamilnadu, my inbox is full with their wishes.

And before I knew, my stay at Pondicherry, Trichy, Rameshwaram & Kanyakumari has been fixed with Mr. Jeyamohan's readers. And a lot of people wants to meet me before I complete my journey. So Mr. Senthil's article made me kind of famous in Tamilnadu. Before I entered this state I thought I'd be on my own because I don't know anybody after Chennai. But destiny had something else in the bucket for me. Even here in Chennai I met many amazing people bcoz of that article and this place doesn't feel strange anymore. I'm home.

Marina beach has become The Meeting Place, where I just sit all day, meeting people as strangers ending up becoming friends, share each others stories, have conversations, Make some new memories and watch the waves..... coming, going.

Even my friend 'Sun' is helping a lot by Hiding behind the clouds all day... Saving me from the Hotness the South is famous for. He's watching me, 24/7, smiling, as I walk alone on the highways, reach new destinations, meet people, create new stories.

As i complete 90days on the roads, No matter what I say, I can't thank enough to the people of my Country. To everyone helping & watching me as I do nothing but just keep walking towards my dreams.

You can read the article here, only if you know Tamil 😂. https://www.jeyamohan.in/117603#.XE3VI7rhXDs

Happy living people !! ⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕

  • ...!! RE - BORN !!...
⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕

  • "When in Rome, Dress like a Roman"

When I was a child I used to see my Father and uncles wearing Lungi at home, all the time. It used to fascinate me. I used to wrap a shawl around my waist and think that now they'll let me sit at the table of grown ups. And I can be a part of their all discussions, about politics, farming and weather. But little did I know that's not what it is.

I woke up in the morning today and Mr. Thamaraikannan (my host) offered me to wear a Dhoti & a shirt. "Let's roam like a Tamilian today" he said, it was all nostalgic for me. He helped me wear it and taught me how to half fold it like the movie stars. He has a great knowledge about Tamil's history, literature, Dravinian Civilisations, monuments, sculptures and Indian Mythology. He told me to come here again with a longer plan and then he'll take me to all ancient temples and monuments and will give me a brief introduction of Tamilian Culture.

What I used to do out of curiosity in childhood stayed in my mind and see, today I'm wearing a Dhoti in Pondicherry, Tamilnadu, where its a tradition and have a lot of cultural values. Things do really connect. When I was starting this journey had no idea that I'll not just pass through this cities but I'll have a chance to live its tradition and culture also. From wearing a Fehran in Kashmir, Turban in Amritsar, Pagdi in Rajesthan, to wearing a dhoti here... All happened because of the people I met on the journey. Who are the biggest inspiration of my life.

Tamilnadu is an ocean of knowledge, history, art and culture. I'll have to come here again to really see it from its roots. Now I dont make any plans for myself, people do it for me. Where should I go, what should I see, where to eat. What time should I start the journey.. I cant even roam on my own for few hours bcoz there's a lot of people waiting to meet me everyday. Amazing, isn't it?

So here I m, sitting near the ocean on corner bench, meeting people , visiting ancient temples and having conversations. My kind of Valentine day 😂

ps : how do I look? ⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕

  • Learning with fun,
So I was traveling continously since 31hr on the roads from Ladakh to Pathankot. My body was totally exhausted. Pain in every corner. So I took the cheapest bus to Dharamshala to get rest. Bus stopped somewhere for 5 min. I went to the washroom and when I came back... Bus was gone.

Within no time I got my senses back... And started hitchhiking to catch the bus. Bikes after cars, loading vehicles, trucks and finally with a fine man I reached Dharamshala. I Dont know know how and why instead of worrying and panic I was actually enjoying it. I was having fun. I know my backpack is gonna reach before me and will be waiting for me at HRTC office.
I found the bus parked on the road. To my surprise, it wasn't my bus. And the number written on my ticket was wrong. Haha, what a day. I finally reached the bus stop and my bus was there. The angry driver started scolding me.... He : Where have you been? I was worried?
Me : I went to the washroom, when I came bus was gone.
He : Next time you go pee, tell the driver first. You scared the hell out of me. How did you come here?
Me : By taking lifts.
He : really ? You're so fast. We just arrived.
Me : I know, I'm a pro.
He smiled me back and I'm finally at Mcloedganj, the mini Tibet. Again after 3 years.
ViPassana is paying off. On the time of panic I had equanimity in mind. No frustration , no attachment, no anger. With presence of mind I took actions and got back my precious Backpack.
My backpack's rain cover is ruined for ever. I have cuts on my mattress. Feathers are coming out of down jacket. But I'm having tea without a worry at the mall road with a dog looking at me. I told him twice - "I've got nothing dog... I'm just like you." .
He's not buying it.
PS : Do not use down jacket for hitchhiking its not that rugged. And buses in Himachal is even faster than cars and they do not wait even for The Prime Minister. ⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕

  • "A wise decision"

Day-98, Rameswaram,

After walking 22 km, getting rides by 4 bikes, 2 Pick ups, 1 truck and a car, in 7hr I reached Rameswaram from Madurai. Bathing in sweat, tired AF, body exhausted. Hitchhiking in 43* with a 12kg rucksack is not less than a suicide. I visited the temples. Walked around the ocean. Took some rest. Then began the never ending search of a night stay. After 2 hr of struggle between me & temples, dharamshalas, aashrams, I didnt find any stay. They all refused.

Ive been observing, after Trichy my body was getting weak everyday. Backpack felt like a mountain, walking just 2km would make me rest for 15min. But that I can handle, what I can't is the heat. As I hitchhiked my way down deep south, heat increased. Put me in freezer I'll survive but a geyser, hell no. I still kept going, walking the lonely highways... Miles and miles. But after today, I had to take a decision.

Last two days of my journey, not the time to give up right? Well im not giving up. I had two options, to take a direct bus to Kanyakumari or hitchhike 300km, changing 3 highways and finish the journey as started. I soo want to do that but not on the cost of my health. I didn't want to have a sun stroke in the middle of the highway and faint. My body can still take it but mind is apposing that thought. 'Why take a chance' its saying.

I knew what I had to do, but still I called one of my friend. And he agreed with the mind. And I took the decision, believe me nothing in the journey was harder than this. And I took a bus to Kanyakumari. And I'm proud of my choice. There's a fine line b/n bravery and stupidity and I choose to be brave.

PS : I still haven't experienced the END of my physical strength. I still can go to Kashmir from the eastern side. But not in this HEAT.

On my way to Kanyakumari ! ⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕

  • Meet Mr. ___________. Sorry I don't know his name. I was standing on the road somewhere in Madurai, wondering where to get a bus or something to get out of the city to the highway. 8 AM and still it was 39*. Was sweating like anything. I went to a bus stop, changed my clothes. Yes, out in the open.

This old man came to me, he dont understand a single word of English and I of Tamil. Still somehow we managed to communicate.. He went ahead I followed him. After changing 2-3 crowded buses, where everybody was staring me like I'm an alien and my mattress was grabbing all the attention, we finally came out of the city to the highway.

He offered me tea and then went back to the city. He was going to the other part of Madurai, he came all the way just to drop me. If that's not humanity then what is it.? Everybody warned me about Madurai, its crime rate, fraud people etc etc. And I actually was afraid, But I think I've a habit to fall in good hands, always. And both, good & bad corners are there in everyone's heart. Its up to us, what we choose, right,.? These small incidents make me believe in humanity, more n more everyday. I thanked him in my heart and started hitchhiking to Rameshwaram. 170km to go... ⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕

  • "For all my /Girl - Friends/ here"

Day 94th, Trichy,

Meet Seelvaraani Mam, my 1st ever female host, a 39yr old advocate and an amazing human being. Trichy was not in my list, I came here just to meet her. What made me do that is her story. "One fine day at work she had an idea that why dont I go on a long long journey by road?? And within a few days she got a 150CC Vespa, did some research, some planning. And just after her mother flew to Dubai to his brother, she was on the roads with a 20L backpack with 1 spare dress and a lot of dreams." "For a month she drove her Scooter all the way from Trichy to the barren landscapes of ladakh and back, ALL ALONE. Around 7500km. Without a single hiccup in the journey." When people ask her how she did that she says "I sit on the scooter, start it.... And it goes. I do nothing, just put my hands on accelerator & breaks, scooter does the rest, as simple as that." Haha the most simplest thing to her can be the biggest challenge for others. "The mindset is the key", she said.

She clicked a picture with Taj Mahal and sent it to her mother. After a lot of drama her family accepted that if she wants to do it... Let her. This is what happens actually, if you really want to do something your family will support you but first you must know if you're capable of it and then you must prove it to them.

People still doesn't believe what she did. She says, "they won't believe me, even after all the news coverage". Bcoz our male driven society cannot accept that a woman did what they can't even think of.

She says, "Me and you are the people who break the chains". So my dear girl friends when she can do this at the age of 38, why can't you at the age of 20 and so.

Find your ladakh and start your scooter. Its never too late to start living.

  • " A bad Day "

A car just dropped me near Davanagere, 260km from Bangalore. Sun was already set. Its not safe to hitchhike in night. Now began the great struggle for a night stay. No breakfast, no lunch today, was tired as fuck.

I went to a police station to get some help. I narrated my whole story. They dont speak much Hindi/English. But they were very humble, they told me to wait until the officer comes. He was supposed to come at 6pm. I was sitting on the stairs, waiting. He shows up at 8. I explained him the whole scenario, my situation. But he was so arrogant, he stopped in the middle and said -

He : " Do you have a permission to do this Yaatra of yours? "

Me : "What do you mean, sir. I'm a free citizen of a free country. I don't need no permission to travel my own country"

He : "Then I can't do anything for you, go now"

Me : "But sir, Didn't I just told you my whole story? What, why and how I'm doing this, were you even listening, I just need to spread my mattress and sleep at the premises terrace, I'll leave early morning "

He : "Only two person can stay here, a policeman or a criminal. If you're not one of them, get lost." And he just turned his back.

Me (shouting) : "Excuse me sir, with all due respect, I'm a journalism graduate, I'm not just a kid running away from home. I thought police is for the help of the people. And if you cannot help someone 1000 miles away from him home stuck in your own city doing something with all the good intentions then I dont know what you guys stand for. And just so you know, on thís Yaatra only I stayed in a Army Bunker, that too in Kashmir. Where even a dog couldnt sneak without permission. I understand if you can't help but at least you should listen. Anyway... Thankyou so much for your time. Have a good night"

And I walked away. I wasn't angry, I just couldnt handle his arrogance anymore. I didnt want to stay in that city after this so I came back to the highway.. Just in 5 min a truck came with MP 04, that's Bhopal. I waved, he stopped.

He (a sirdar) : Kidher kaake?
Me : Bangalore?
He : oye aaja phir.

And yeah.... Everything happens for a reason.

• Hampi, Day - 76,
Dear Me,

Its ok to be sad. You're also human. You can't be all motivated and a kickass traveler all the time. Sometimes its ok to loose your shit, feel blue and be low. Its ok to feel alone sometimes in the madling crowd. It may not be the place or the people around you making you feel like that.
May you're just tired of keep moving, struggling everyday for a basic survival. Maybe you're heart is craving for the people you love. I know its tough to say goodbye to the people you just met and feel connected. Maybe its just your body, getting exhausted and wants a good night sleep. Maybe you're done with the impermanent behaviour of the journey. Now uncertainty is maybe bothering you. It could be anything.

You knew from the 1st day... This will happen. One day boredom & loneliness will fill your heart and you just want to run. Its ok to be like that for a while. You've been on the roads since a long time. And see.. You're still surviving. I know from outside its so fun, an adventure of lifetime, amazing experiences.. Peoples getting inspired from you but I know that... Its a struggle everyday. A struggle from you to yourself. Everything else is just the outcome of your efforts to keep going. And you're good at that. I know its tough, you won't be doing it on the 1st place if it was easy.

You belong here. This is your dream. And dreams are everything to u. You'll have to deal with yourself, and that's the main struggle. So get this fucking thoughts out and cheer up dude. You've come a long way... And the only way out is to finish what you started.

So buckle up, pack that giant and move. That's what you gonna do. Just remember " weather the roads be toughest or kind, you'll travel, travel to the blind". Long live the journey !. Staying today with some Japanese guys, not one them speaks good English. But I'm surviving. ⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕

  • After a lot of struggle I finally reached Hampi at 10 PM. All tired, now began the hunt for a night stay. I talked to the locals, camping wasn't allowed because of wild animals. Hotels was out of question. I lost all my hopes. Hunger was getting over my head. Sitting at the corner of the road... I was catching my breath. Even at this point my mind was stable, no panic at all.

I knew if I need help , I gotta ask for it. Without wasting a minute I rushed to the policemen standing nearby. Told him my whole story. Explained my condition... Thankfully he understood a bit of English. After a fine Q/A, he grabbed my shoulder and said - come with me.

He took me to the bus station, some tribal villagers was camping there, preparing food. He discussed something with them and came with a plate full of rice and dal. "Eat first, you look Hungry" he said. I ate like a dog. I remember I was in 9th class. There was a story by Munshi Premchand named "बुड़ी काकी". I remember it like yesterday. There was a phrase " भोजन मीठा नही होता, भूख मिठी होती है" ! Experienced the same today, Again. That's what I like about stories, poetries. I dont just like to read or write them. But to LIVE them.

After that he dropped me to the Temple. "You can sleep here, a lot of travelers do, you won't have any problem" he said. He gave me a warm hug and left. We Didnt exchange any contact details and I Didnt even click a picture. Sometimes you just need to be there, in the moment. And when survival is a question I can bet you won't even get your camera out.

So here I'm , sleeping in a Temple in Karnataka with peers , sadhus and the people for whom traveling is not fun but basic life. I choose to hitchhike but they have to do it coz they can't afford other luxuries.

Happy living People !! ⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕

  • Spinning the Charkha : One of the best experience of my life.

The teacher said I wont be able to get a piece of thread unless I practice at least a week. I proved her wrong, learned it in 5 min. She gifted me that thread "You earned it" she said. I cannot explain what I felt at Sabarmati Ashram. "Gandhi", this name has a lot of impression on my personality. The peace in my mind, my search for wisdom, my thirst to understand humans and to love them, acceptance, non-voilence, anger-less mind, kindness, this all I learned from him.

Still the biggest challenge I feel is to achieve 'selflessness', which I'm trying to improve everyday. To be really honest I Dont give a damn about his political views & deeds. What I find amazing is his experiments with his mind, soul & body and then his final journey towards finding NAKED TRUTH in every aspect of life.

We all follow our own religion. We all Follow Lord Rama, Krishna, Shankara, Guru Nanak, Jesus, Buddha, Moses, Nizamuddin and many more. But instead of following their ideas and adopting their qualities, the qualities which led them to this greatness, we blind-stupid-mindless-humans built their temples , mosques, churches, gurudwaras and start worshiping them. Its not them, its their qualities which we should worship and adopt. A lot of people would disagree I know. But this is what I feel and this is what ive learned after all this travels.

  • "Working as a Waiter"

It was my 4th day in Jaislmer. I love this place. But Ive to leave & had only two choices, one to hitchhike 460km second to take a direct bus to my next stop Mount Abu. I was too tired and exhausted after my desert camping that even walking was a pain in ass. Imagine hitchhiking with that giant then. So I decided to take a bus... But had no money. Not a single penny. Now was the time to take a decision. I could easily call some of my friends and borrow some money but I'm tired of that. And this was my wish and decision to embark on this journey, so I should be the one dealing with all the situations Alone. So I decided to find some work, earn 600Rs (500 for the bus & 100 for food). With a lot of anxiety, nervousness, numbness, courage and a big smile on face I started hunting restaurants and cafes near the fort.
The 1st cafe I went - 8July cafe is run by 2 Australian citizen. My first words was - "Hi, morning, do you need a worker for a Day? "
And they were like "for a day?? "
I explained them everything. He was flattered with my courage. He was proud of me but had no work today. But he gave me a rooftop room to stay in his hotel - Australia Blue" for free along with food. My 1st hunt & I got a place to stay.... Wow 😍. That boosted my confidence. I went to another restaurant explained everything to the guy he offered me 400Rs for waiting a day but what I needed was 600. I hated to refuse but had no choice.
I was again on the roads, searching. I went to another restaurant, asked for the manager. Explained him everything, k2k, hitchhiking, mount ABU, bus. He told me to sit down 1st. Have tea. Now talk. His brother owned the place. I waited half an hour and he arrived. I narrated my story & he just said - "you're hired, let's go"

For straight 12 hours was working as a waiter. Taking orders, waiting tables, cleaning glasses. For people a waiter dressed like me, looking all wild was a new thing. I interacted with them., told my story and I was showered with a lot of love and "Tips". I had a great time with the kitchen staff. I got to hear everyone's story. Specially my two companions Mukesh & Mahinder. "MORE IN COMMENT"

  • Both the places I stayed in Jaisalmer, I never met the host. Couchsurfing is such an amazing thing. Day 1, I stayed in an police querter. Mr. Ashok was to host me but he had to go Jaipur before I reached here. But he left the key hidden and all his place to me. I was sleeping in that house in an strange city like it was my own. He even told me that I can cook whatever I want.
It was 11 in the night, i was already feeling strange alone there, to my surprise a guy knocked the door, in police uniform, all drunk... And asking who the hell I m? I told him the whole story.... I literally was affraid. But he turned out to be a relative of my host and he was to sleep here at night. What a bumer. Although, we started talking and it was nice to have him around. I was bored all alone.
Next night I camped in the desert. Camping in fun but really tiring. I was totally exhausted. Needed to rest.

I requested few people on couchsurfing for the 1st time on my own. 1 of them was Mr. Devi Lal who accepted my request on such a short notice. He said "I do not have a room now, but I can arrange a bed". I said " even floor works for me". He was out in the city when I reached the hotel he told me, his coworker showed me a bed in the basement, comfy and clean. I slept like a baby.
In the evening I went for walk near the fort. I always like these old crowded narrow streets like a maze where one can get lost without even bothering about it. He was not there still when I came back. I enjoyed the fort view, chilly winds, wrote some postcards sitting on the terrace on a comfy couch.
I left his place early morning and I stayed on Mr. Lal's behalf in an hotel for free but never met him. These little things never let me loose my hope in humanity. People says the world is not good, we've lost our humanity. I can tell you these are the people who never put a leg out of their comfortzone and did nothing such for others.. I'm in love with couchsurfing. If you are there connect to me at - Shirish Yaatri, Indore. ⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕

  • Hitchhiking Jaipur - Ajmer was one of the toughest route of my all previous hitchhiking experience. This express way was too fast that not a single vehicle could stop midway. People were staring at me passing by but not stopping. Some even shouted to get off from the road. I waited for hours, walking with that giant on my back for god knows how many km, waving my thumb to get hitched but no luck.
I didn't had breakfast today, lunch neither. My physical strength was just about to break, even my mental strength was to say no at every step I took. But my feet didn't stop. Just few more steps they said to the body. In 5 hours I just covered 37km. I told my biggest inspiration, my friend and companion THE SUN, "Help me out here, I'm out of luck, if you set before setting me up, we're not friends anymore"

Then a bike stopped, I did all the bla bla bla, he just said - can you ride the bike? Me - yes, totally. He just had an eye operation his vision wasn't good. So I rode his bike for next 70kms towards the direction of sun as he sit behind holding the giant. He offered me kachoris. Just as he dropped me the sun was about to set, I looked at him again and lost all my hope. 35 km more without the sun, no place to stay, no where to eat, what m I gonna do.? Suddenly a truck stops by the road, I rushed to the driver... "Brother... AJMER? he : Hop on !
Pheeeeww... As I struggled my way in through the tiny truck door, I looked out the window my dear friend sun smiled back to me and then set behind the mountains. He never leave me alone. And I never thank him.
Now this is the main story, meet Mr. Vijay. He said he saw me somewhere on the highway walking.... He thought I'd be an army guy. He wanted to stop but RTO didn't let him. He was amazed by my story. He said " bhai tumhare jaisa pagal nhi dekha kabhi" he offered me to come with him to Ahmedabad directly, I refused, I couldnt miss Khwaja Gareeb Nawaz's shrine. he gave me his no. And told me to visit his family and he'll arrange a free ride for me from Udaipur to Ahmedabad.

  • Just i was to post a story in the afternoon that " 100kms so far, no rides , totally exhausted, tired, this whole trip was a mistake, was walking since half an hour , sun is harsh, I'm gonna end up somewhere in the desert "
And suddenly a car stopped half a km away , turned back, then came back to me.
Me : "where you guys going? I need to reach sikar, I can't pay , I need a lift"
They : "Hop on, we're going to Jaipur"
This guys are from Chennai. They have most unusual job of making customized grave stones for the west.

They were so humble, gentle and amazing. I in love these people. I decided that I'll travel 250kms today reach Sikar and stay there overnight and hitchhike again to Jaipur in the morning. But in the middle of nowhere I got these people and a direct ride to jaipur.
They offered me Lunch and Tea.
I don't know, how I'm so lucky , what have i done to have this experiences.
Along the way I posted that I need a place in Jaipur... I'm so overwhelmed by responses I've got. A lot of people were sending me msgs, calling me. I was doing nothing just sitting on the comfortable seat of car, sleeping while people were trying to get a stay for me. Its so majestic, magical that everybody wants me to complete this journey without any hurdles. I can't thank you guyz enough.
The guys from Chennai told me that if you don't find anything you can stay with us and have dinner, then tell us some of your stories. And what the driver 'Rakesh' said maid my day - "Bhai ji, koi vyavastha na ho na, to mera room khali hi h"

Finally I got a stay through couch surfing, my stay was 10kms away from the the Chennai guys hostel but they Insisted to drop me till my stop.
Mr. Schthil offered that i must stay with him in Chennai..! I accepted. I had very healthy discussion with him about religion, politics , communism, travelling, literature. Before I left Mr. Shankar hugged me like no one ever did before. He was soo emotional, he told me that "we always wanted to get a backpack and just leave to somewhere without any plans , you are our hope, everyone cannot do everything they wish in their life. BT you're doing it. I'm very happy . "MORE IN COMMENT"

  • Day 2 @ Chandigarh.
I was staying with Mr. Lal Ramchandani ( A retired IRS Officer and a well travelled man) and his wife. I met him only once at the meditation center in Ladakh. When I told him about K2K he invited me to live with his family.
As soon as I entered his home I was offered a bowl of warm tasty tomato soup. Just as I finished the soup dinner was on table. It wasn't a normal supper, it was like a buffet... I can't even name everything. I was forced to eat more than 5 chapatis along with a plate full of rice. Just like my mother used to do in my childhood. As I struggled with the rice a bowl of delicious 'Gazar Ka Halwa' was in front of me.

His wife said - Beta tum kuch khate nhi ho !
She didn't know that this evening I was eating more than I ate in entire last week. As I finished everything I was offered with a big warm cup of TEA. What's better than that. I was full to the throat. They both are Vipassana Meditators, they Dont eat after 5 PM, this all was cooked specially for me. I can't express in words what I was feeling.
Mr. Lal and me went for a walk in the park and i got to hear his adventures as a youth. He's getting offers for jobs paying 100-200 grands a month. But he doesn't want to work. When I asked why, his answer made my day - "What will I do with 2 lakh Rupees a month. Ive everything. Im totally satisfied." My legs hurt even on standing. Body exhausted. I went to bed by 9:30, that night I slept like a baby. Before I woke up breakfast was ready. It wasn't breakfast, it was like 3 meals. Again I was forced to eat more than my capacity by his wife. I told her... Me :"Mam, I'm done. This is even my lunch"

She : "You Dont worry about lunch, that ive already packed. You've to go a long way son, eat as much as u can"

I was feeling like I'm home !
After packing, everything I was about to leave. His wife handed me an envelope and you know what that means. I refused as much, as I could. But she shut my mouth by saying - "Ain't you just like my son" ?
Whatever the fuck you're in outer world, You can never win with mothers. "MORE IN COMMENT"

  • Hey guys, I'm at the Khardungla pass, altitude 17,982ft, one of the highest Motorable pass in the world which is open even in winter.
Its the highest altitude ive ever been. And I'm so surprised how my body is adapting in thin air. Not a single sign of AMS, pressure on lungs or any kind of altitude sickness.
I'm iron man 😂

Meditation camp is over. Mr.Jigmet, a FTII alumnai, professionally cinematographer, fellow mountain lover - traveller and a local is hosting me in Ladakh. He's the one who got me up here. Right now I'm sitting in his beautiful house on the couch nearby the firewoods sipping a large cup of tea.
Wondering, how do I get so lucky to live this stories, meet this people. You might think I'm the one doing this crazy things, but no, its not me, I do nothing. I just keep walking and this things happens to me. Like someone, some kind of super power wants me to have this experiences, to live this stories and let the selfish people of the world know there's still hope. Everything is not lost. We're still humans, who live to love and to be loved.
People says I'm a hero, but no I'm just a muse. The hero's are the 'people' who helps me unconditionally and wants me to survive for the sake of their own lost dreams. ⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕⭕

  • Here is our man @shirish_yaatri touching the heights of the himalaya .

@thedirtywheels
Is proud to support him on his grand k2k journey

Shrinagar se leh kahani Shirish ki zubani.
・・・
"Just a glimpse of one of the biggest adventure of my life. Hitchhiking from Srinagar - Leh, stuck at Sonamarg, finding refuge in Army Cantt, Spending the cold night at the govt. Resort's watchman's quarter. Crossing jozila pass, visiting Drass, Kargil and the final arrival at "Dhamma Laddha" The Vipassana meditation centre in Ladakh. Those 3 days were like a lifetime.
From last 11 days I'm working here as a Volunteered server and sipping Tea watching Stok Kangri just few KM away from me. This place is surrounded by huge mountains all around. Temperature goes to -12*C at night.
I'm gonna stay here for 4-5 more days, I've made amazing friends among the servers and meditators. I'm gonna stay here with one of the server who's a local and explore the barren Ladakh.
For those who were wondering. I AM ALIVE. At my best, I've never been better. I'll be off again on the roads pretty soon. Once I get out of J&K, you'll get updates regularly. Until then.. Happy living People.

• Today, I had the most amazing evening @ Srinagar. I was at Pari Mahal, 800 years old Mughal learning centre for Sufism. I was told that the sunset here is superb. But my dear SUN was playing hide n seek and i didn't get to see it set down to Dal.
I was angry with him. The place was full of tourists taking pictures of god knows what.. Throwing garbage everywhere, shouting and ruining the place. I asked a guy to get me clicked, just for souvenir of the place. He clicked my picture, we had a little chat and I was off. The temperature was falling down. And I had a long walk of 10kms back to Zostel. I started walking, singing, shivering and suddenly a car stopped in front of me. The same 'picture' guy asked me -
you want a lift?
Why not, i can use a ride down the hill. I said.
Next minute I was in the car with his two friends, and the car was rolling rashly through the narrow mountain road filled with army check posts.
His friend asked me -

Friend - Aap akele aaye ho? Family ke sath maza nhi aata.
Me : nah, mai akele hi travel krta hu.
Him : Girlfriend ko le aate, h apki ki nhi,? Me : nhi yr .
Him : To koi kashmiri ko banalo. Banaoge?
Me : (smiling in my thoughts , dude that's my dream) Yr mil jaygi to bana lunga.
Him : Are Bht badiya. Aap to mere sath aa jao. Bht kashmiri ladkiyo se mila dunga.
Me : I wish.
Haha, then we had really good conversation abt life here in Kashmir, youth's thoughts about the ideal Kashmir, politics, democracy, dreams. And suddenly he asked sarcastically -

Modi supporter to nhi ho aap?? He asked me where I'm staying and he insisted to drop me there. Although it was the apposite of where he lives BT he was very persuasive. After 10 min. we reached near Zostel. We clicked this picture together. And then finally we introduced ourselves, tell each other our names. He followed me on Instagram and told me to be in touch. And i waved them back until they were lost in traffic.
Now tell me Is this the same Kashmir you got to see in news? Definately No. Even in your city nobody's gonna drop you 10kms in his car without even asking you your name/religion. And just so you know His name is HARRIS, AND HE'S A PROUD MUSLIM.
