Some simple things to get you by. I know the feeling of those busy days where it seems impossible that you could get anything done. Where there is so much to do and you don't know what to prioritize. The stress can be overwhelming. But if you try to check in with yourself and do things such as self care and managing the situation, it may help. For example make lists and check things off to reassure yourself that you are getting somewhere! But also take a couple minutes to soak up the moment, live in the now 💕
Some sunlight and good fertiliser,
Some cutting trimming and water regularly.
Recipe for mental peace!
Serve it in lovely pots of your choice for extra essence!
Who’s your sunlight?
What’s your choice of pot?
Did you water your passion today?
Is your mind at peace today?
How is your heart feeling? .
I’ve been so strong these last 6 months but one thing I’ve let creep in recently and take up a DAILY residence in my body - is sugar! #1 mainstream drug. 🙅🏻♀️ Sugar is freaking HORRIBLE! And I find myself sneaking into our pantry for Girl Scout Cookies or whatever I can find - even during the week - which is when I’m trying to be super clean. 🙄 So, I’m putting my foot down TODAY. Sugar is not going to control me. WHY IS IT SO BAD? 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 ❌Sugar causes glucose levels to spike and plummet and in turn makes you crave it even more. ❌Sugar increases the risk of diabetes, obesity and heart disease. ❌Sugar tampers with your immune system. ❌Sugar accelerates aging. ❌Sugar can cause gum diseases which can lead to heart disease. ❌Sugar increases stress. ❌Sugar takes place of important nutrients. ❌Sugar is inflammatory to the body - and cancer LOVES inflammation. I just read a couple terrifying new studies on sugar and its link to cancers.
Normally I’d “start on a Sunday” or “start after that party next week” or “start on the first” but not this time. This time I’m seeing something I want to change and starting TODAY! 👊🏼 I challenge any of you who want to join me to do so!! Give up sugar for 30 days - OR, choose something else that has a powerful grip on you.
Yesterday’s post was about redefining the definition of perfect. Today focuses on redefining health.
We’ve all grown up in this society believing that thin equals health. Ironically enough, many women - myself included - have taken measures to lose weight that cost us our health in various ways. Research supports a personal theory that my leaky gut syndrome could have been prevented had I eaten intuitively my whole life instead of trying diet after diet.
I now gauge my health by how I feel. The scale, and even what I see in the mirror, mean nothing in comparison to my energy levels and my digestion.
Are you ready to redefine health? How different would your life be if you focused on how you feel and gave yourself true self care that helped your body and mind to heal?
You are enough.
You are worthy of love.
You deserve to feel good.

Kemetic Yoga: The ancient Egyptian System Of Yoga enlightenment based upon the practices of physical movement combined with controlled deep breathing and meditation.
Heart intelligence is the ability to connect with the heart through the breath and sound frequencies to heal the mind, body, and soul. The heart is both a physical organ and intuitive feeling center. The heart is the central rhythmic force that directly affects other rhythms throughout the body. By connecting and healing through the heart the heart sends out a powerful, rhythmic signal that the brain responds to and sends out to the different systems of the body. These heart rhythms affect how we think, perceive and perform. This is what is meant by heart wisdom. ‼️WHAT THIS CLASS OFFERS ‼️
♾Breath Work .
♾Kemetic Yoga .
♾Guided Meditation .
♾Sound Healing .
♾Connecting with the heart center, and clearing all energy fields through the heart. .
Hiya parents out there! Anyone else feel this sentiment? Up last night a bunch with my little guy, but bringing him to my bed works NOT A BIT! He just wants to play and party no matter what time it is.
I always thought I’d be a co-sleeping type of parent, but it wasn’t really up to me. Early on, my baby showed us that he needs to be alone to shut off his mind and go inward to sleep. Letting go of my idea of how things “should be” has been my first and biggest lesson in parenting so far. No matter what our vision is as parents, our children have a vision and needs of their own. Obviously, we must set boundaries and provide opportunities for them to learn (sometimes challenging) things, but to a certain degree, I’ve also had to learn that temperament is something that arrives with the baby and isn’t dictated by my “well thought-out” plans.
So we figure it out together, day by day, sleepless night by sleepless night. (I’m only kidding with that one, because nobody can be a good parent if you are not taking care of yourself and getting your sleep!!!) (However, it certainly feels like sleep is that elusive elixir of energy and youth that new parents so desperately desire, doesn’t it?)(All I can say is that everyone tells me it gets better!)

This is how I self care. I take myself here. Sometimes I watch the sunsets and sometimes I take in the warm sunshine. Self care is important for artists. We work so hard that it's easy to forget to stop and give yourself a break.

I was an odd kid. I had offbeat interests (mythology, science fiction, The Addams Family, and Xena: Warrior Princess to name a few) and spent many introverted afternoons drawing. Teachers liked me. I had "uncool" glasses and flat feet that made running around difficult, if not painful. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This is a roundabout way of saying that from age 6-13, I was incessantly bullied and ostracized by other kids. Most of it was emotional and verbal, although it started to become physical at age 13 - the boy with the locker next to mine frequently slammed my locker door shut in an attempt to crush my fingers. The insults ranged from generic to homophobic to personal, although it was the disgust behind the insults that was the most damaging. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I spent a significant amount of my childhood learning emotional survival skills out of necessity. It's debatable how well some of these skills, such as compartmentalization to the point of disassociation, still serve me. However, one thing that's been invaluable has been the ability to take control of my own narrative. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
At age 8, one boy's favorite insult was, "You're so weird!" ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My response? "Thank you!" ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
He never knew what to do with that, and would walk away without another word. By taking control of this term and what it meant to me, I was able to use it to build myself up rather than let others tear me down. Now I teach others to do the same. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

When you’re supposed to be writing a paper on self-care, but you’re way, way past due for some self-care so you lay in bed for 2 hours and treat yourself to your favorite drink while doing a “self-care practicum.” 🤣
Graduate school and working full-time and parenting and living in two places and commuting and trying to be a good sister, friend, mother, daughter, girlfriend, scholar. People tell me that they don’t know how I do it and the truth is sometimes I just don’t. Sometimes I’ve woken up at 2am one too many days and I’m spent and I give myself some grace, and a London Fog (or some whiskey, let’s be honest) and I keep going. Never giving up doesn’t mean that you don’t quit (often), it just means that you always start again. #persisterhood#nevernevernevergiveup#butfirstsleep#documentingdivschool#selfcare
Why do we have sex? The answer could be so easy: to love, to connect, to enjoy, to feel pleasure. But the reality it’s much more complex than that…. .
We all aspire to have this wonderful, sexy and enjoyable sex and sexual life. We see it in the movies, we read it in books, we picture it in our imaginations. But... While some women have experienced that level of sexual fulfillment, many are left wondering, what's wrong with me? If sex should feel so pleasurable, why do I feel so much shame, guilt, boredom and even disgust? Why can’t I have an orgasm?
We’ve been told since a very young age, in different languages and countries around the world, that “Sex is dirty,” “Masturbation is a sin, “Homosexuality is wrong” and “Your pleasure belongs to others,” to name a few. In short — your desire is wrong.
Our response to this influx of messages? We learn to keep quiet. We silence our sexual needs and feelings both with ourselves (What touch makes me feel good? Am I attracted to women?) and others (“I want to try something else” “I don’t like that”). And that silence is keeping us away from what we truly want.
It's time we ask ourselves: How do I desire my sexual life to be?

Hey mama! Do your hands feel FULL? Mine too! Here I am—arms full, with my four beautiful babies. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Now, a few years later I’m pregnant with my FIFTH! Some days I wonder how in the world will I fit one more into these arms of mine? 🤷🏼♀️🤰😜 The more LITERAL question that I really mean to ask is... how do I keep this little world of mine moving with all these people that I love that are in it? 🌎 Do you often feel MAXED, STRETCHED multiple directions, and unable to accomplish everything on your daily to-do’s? 👉Seems there is always laundry to be washed/folded, dishes to be loaded/unloaded, bathrooms/floors to be scrubbed, dinner to be planned/made, groceries to be shopped for, volunteer help needed at the schools, kids loads of homework to be done, and then all their extra curriculars to be taxied off to and from, oh and a husband... remember him? That person who isn’t even in the picture? Doesn’t that often feel how life really is? Where is that guy I would at least like to just squeeze in a pinch of time with at the end of a day? ⏰ Get my DRIFT?? 🤣 It’s exhausting just talking about it all, right?! A few years ago I found “my secret!” Not to accomplish EVERYTHING on my daily list, but to accomplish the very most IMPORTANT things— to keep these little people (and a S.O.) that absolute #1 priority! That secret I discovered was—I have to FUEL myself! ⛽️ You mean ADD something to my to do list?? Yup ABSOLUTELY! And that “something” I’m talking about is SELF CARE! 💕 This doesn’t mean to spend all day only serving or thinking of yourself... it just means planning an allotted amount of time/finding your fuel, and then filling up that tank! 🙌 You can’t pour from an empty cup, cutie pie! 🥰 So quit thinking that your fuel will “auto kick-in” when you haven’t been to the gas station in awhile and you’re ridin’ on “empty!” 😏 So—What is YOUR FUEL? ⛽️ Invest in yourself, even if it’s just 30 minutes a day! Your current AND future self will thank you... Your kids and your S.O. will thank you even MORE! 🙌 And most importantly, you’ll be your best YOU! 💋@high.fitness

Just want to remind you... You're an autonomous human being.
And, believe it or not, the life you live is your choice.
If you're stuck in a comfort zone of misery... A comfort zone of "blah"... It's up to you to change that.
No toxic boss or external circumstance can condemn you to a lifestyle you live by default... Unless you let them.
And if you repeatedly tell yourself that you don't have "enough time" to invest in yourself... To invest in change... You're full of it... And that's 100% your choice.
If that's the case, then your life of status quot is entirely on you.
If you're ready to design your lifestyle... A life of freedom and fulfillment... Join my FREE Freedom Lifestyle Transformation Webinar... Tomorrow (March 27) at Noon Eastern.

Because it's time for you to choose to live the life you WANT.
I often find myself pouring into others with reckless abandonment. As a helper, giver, social worker, and momma, this is easy to do. Our busy schedules, deadlines, and the needs of others tend to make their way to the top of our priority list. When we’re empty, if we’re not refueled, replenished, we’re not giving the best parts of ourselves to the universe. We are leading ourselves to burn out, secondary trauma, and most of all we are modeling poor boundaries and self-love for our families and clients. We have to help ourselves first to help others. We have to heal from our own junk to lead others to healing. It’s okay to put yourself first! Do it! What do you have to lose? 💪🏼🦋💜 .
