Killer whale season is right around the corner! During the months of April and May, orcas flood Monterey Bay to hunt migrating gray whales and other animals that frequent these waters. It is easily one of the most exciting times to be out on a boat as we see more species in spring than any other time of year. You can join me on a sunrise photography workshop to look for orcas and other wildlife starting next month. Follow the link in my bio to learn more and register!

Unfortunately @nevadahoops couldn't pull off the W today, but at least they gave us a great 2nd half push. Sad when you gotta see the Seniors go, but thanks for the last 2 great years. Here's a shot of Bonsai Rock from a couple months back.
“You are the salt of the earth. But what good is salt if it has lost its flavor?“ From a sunrise at the lowest and hottest place (although very cold on this morning) in North America. Although it was the coldest and most uncomfortable night of sleep yet, waking up here was worth it.
The future is bright, and now I have permanent eye damage from looking into it while my brother @dedrickn does his best to configure his manual Zeiss lens as cars whiz by... p.s. a big collab is coming in with @wandrd if things come through, meaning a great discount and goodies if you purchase using my code. Follow me and stay tuned in the next couple days to reap the rewards!
Fairwell to the ocean. This has been a delight, but it is time to turn inland and start heading east. No rush, though. There are still so many adventures to be had before we get back to Tennessee and working on our Avion.

Offshore winds and plenty of cattle on this stretch of coast 🌊
Dinkey Creek in the Sierra National Forest exudes of natural beauty. The area offers hiking, fishing and swimming, as well as rock climbing.
Dinkey Creek Historic Bridge in Fresno County was built in 1938 and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
The area is rich in history, as many of the trails used by Native Americans, can still be seen today. 📸 @mikeg0710

in a eucalyptus grove...I think I’ll stay indefinitely!
Y’all, I flew to Idaho after work yesterday and got in at about midnight without my sister ever knowing. In fact, she thought I got in trouble for asking for time off. My dad had no idea either until a few days ago.
I’m beyond happy and at peace to be here right now. Family is a medicine you can’t beat. And God blessed me with this amazing family I have.
If you’re not in a good mental and physical state, do what you can to see your family. It’ll do more than think.
A few years ago, a friend gave me a book called “What’s So Special About Grace?” I didn’t know what was so special about grace because I didn’t know what grace was + I certainly didn’t possess much of it. I was extremely hard on other people; I was extremely hard on myself. Meeting others where they were at felt like lowering my bar; meeting myself where I was at felt like resigning to “not good enough”. Forgiving others seemed completely impossible; I hadn’t forgiven myself for my own transgressions. I had a one-strike rule for everything, with everyone, including myself.
Ironically, some of the people I tend to be the hardest on are the people who show me the most grace. They’re the patient people who say, "It's okay, you're good" when I feel anything but okay + far from good. And the truth is: we’re *all* so far from good. If we’re honest with ourselves, we wouldn’t even be able to tally up all the times we said or did something we shouldn’t have, acted out, failed, knowingly or unknowingly wronged someone, struck without reason, caused hurt, or just messed up… again + again + again. Sadly, most of us don’t live our lives washed + cleansed of our pasts.
But then there’s grace. It took me a long time to realize how much grace has been extended to me over the course of my life, by so many wonderful people, but most awesomely by God… again + again + again.
That kind of grace is different. I wish that everyone will experience it. It doesn’t have a strike rule. It doesn’t have any rules or limits. It doesn’t keep track of wrongdoing. It’s unmerited + unearned. It invites us to keep trying. It doesn’t discard anyone, even the most “far gone”.
And it changes everything. 💛✨
