I did a poll on my stories yesterday on the pressing question: should I continue sharing my drawings here or should I create a separate account. Parliament (you, my Instagram pals) voted to stay put and share my drawings along with the rest of my life.
Some lovely people even messaged to explain why they thought I should continue to include my drawings in my posts: to see my journey as an artist (i’m being bold and referring to myself as an artist, I’ve clearly had a glass of wine), to see the true daily struggle as a full time parent while trying to honour creative pursuits and also for the honesty of seeing the full picture, the one on the sketch book page and the lesser seen life surrounding it.
Thank you so much for all your thoughts. I think I felt a bit embarrassed that I was suddenly sharing all these drawings and allowed the doubt to creep in: ‘Is this self indulgent?’, ‘Am I boring people with these?’, ‘Why am I even sharing this?’, ‘Maybe I need to take this elsewhere...’ So, if you don’t mind, I’ll just carry on sharing where I go with all these drawings. I have lots of ideas and plans and lists and stories, bursting to get out onto the page. I feel inspired in a way I haven’t in a painfully long time.
And as always, it will probably be sporadic and only when I can get the baby to nap and the toddler to eat ice cream for fifteen minutes, but I suppose that’s all part of it isn’t it?

Caravan Cooking 🥘 We love cooking in our caravan and sitting down to eat together every night here ♥️ our kitchen is filling up nicely with different herbs and spices and we are lucky enough to be living next door to a great couple who grow lots of fruit and veg and are giving us advice on starting up our own little garden. We were able to buy lots of great stuff today to get the garden started with the money we got off our lovely friends and family for the wedding #vegetablegarden .
We both want to be a lot healthier this year and a lot more environmentally conscious. I’ve been trying to have a vegetarian diet now since October and it’s been lovely and Mel is well on board now too, eating well and hopefully eating mostly our own food that we grow this year 😀 we haven’t had to substitute a single meal since being here for me. We have only cooked veggie meals and he hasn’t complained haha! #veggie .
Tonight we had veggie stir fry with crispy kale 🥬 I made it and it was gorgeous. My meals usually turn out crap 😂 so I’m happy! .

I recently read that your Chinese zodiac year is unlucky. So seeing as it’s year of the pig and I’m a 1983 pig, i’m apparently f****. And, let’s be honest, February has been brutal so far. A flu virus knocking us all sideways, a painful breast infection that will not go away, the four month sleep regression and then some stressful family stuff happening have all rendered me (what feels like) useless.
This has meant that Gryff’s best mate has been CBeebies, Elwin’s new home is the jumperoo, and this morning we alI had chocolate cake for breakfast (there was some beetroot in it, I’m not a completely lost cause). I’ve relied heavily on @jon.tipler to do all the cooking and cleaning, our stellar cast of neighbours to drive me to the doctor and watch over Gryff and friends to make me laugh when I’ve felt like things couldn’t get much darker. So when you think about it from that angle, you could say that I’m actually incredibly lucky.
