  • (Makeup apps! 😅👀💋👄) Wasn’t sure if I should post this... 🤔🤭🤫 Sneak preview of my next song ‘Become Children Instead’! A little more warming up on the vocals and boom you got a record! Sometimes no matter how warm you are, it’s too emotionally charged. Just sing from the heart what’s in your Soul. (Boom! If only it was that easy to produce a song! Honestly I LOVE the process! This song I’ve been working on for soooo long! I can’t wait till it’s finished so can put it on repeat! It means so much to me! I write and produce all of my own original music myself. I wrote all the songs for this album playlist back in October of 2018 and I’ve been producing each song in the midst of starting my YouTube channel and doing voiceover acting, composing and producing for clients, being a wife and mom and having my crystal shop and vegan concession— whew! But most importantly building my relationship with God— which is exactly what this entire album is about— my transformation and journey towards God.) — So yeah: NEW SONG COMING SOON! — It’ll be the 6th added to my Growin’ In Love album playlist so far. Many more to come; a full album’s worth! With 1-2 more instrumental interludes too! One of the instrumentals is so emotional to me I’m flipping(?) just thinking about it. Wanna watch/hear? Only subscribers who have their notifications turned on are notified first every time I upload anything to my entire channel! You’re invited.) YouTube channel link in bio. My channel is brand new and I am so happy to have a few subscribers, likes and comments already. I have so much content planned, so come on over. • Hello I’m in Cambodia, today I have seen many temples! Started the day at 5am to see the sunrise at Ankor Wat then Ta prohm, and lastly Khmer temple. It’s been a great day and now I will try and draw some of the temples in my sketch book which I will share later.

  • #photography is the prompt for #MarchMeetTheMaker, and hopefully these two horrible pics might show one of the things I really struggle with - photographing glass! This particular type of glass (dichroic) look different depending on the angle you view it from. There's a proper scientific reason for this, but I'm not much of one for proper science! I use a bridge camera (kind of in between a compact camera and a DSLR) for most of my photos for Folksy and Etsy, along with a fold out box that's silver inside so the lights (in the top of the box) reflect off of all the surfaces and (mostly) get rid of shadows. Glass is super glossy which I think of as a good thing, up until I want photos of it that I haven't got a reflection of myself in! When I'm in the Glass House I tend to snap things using the camera on my phone, which was a birthday 🎁 last November from my lovely Mr.
I have an issue with my memory, so I find that snapping quick pics of what I'm doing as I go along means I can use them to keep track. Once I'm back indoors I write myself a note on an app called Keep and add photos to it - I can draw on the photos to remind myself of little things I might otherwise not notice, and this means next time I go out there and find something half put together on my work surface I can check the app to see what I was doing last! I also usually take a tough and dirty pic of what was where inside the kiln before I ran a programme - then I (try to remember to) take another when I open it, so I can see what worked, or didn't work, or was too close to something else!

  • I survived the Instagram + Facebook outage of 2019.

Pretty sure I deserve a sticker.

I don’t know about you, but it was actually a breath of fresh air with no socials today.
Talked to the family. They seem like nice people 😝

  • Day 13 of #marchmeetthemaker is: Photography

If I’m being honest, I kind of make it up as I go along! A lot of it is trial and error! Sometimes I use my phone but mainly I use a *very basic* a DSLR on various settings - but really I don’t have a clue, I’m just trying it out and seeing what looks good to me! 📸
I take photographs in natural light in my studio and pray for a decent bit of daylight which is a real problem in the winter! I stand on a step ladder, lean on a table, balance on a chair to get various viewpoints without trying to break any limbs 😂 I borrow lots of props from around the house (and the garden) and I use different coloured papers for backgrounds to create different moods. 🌈

  • This break is all about surrender. Surrender to the processing of the last few months, which have been plagued by anxiety. Surrender to rest. Surrender to my fears about everything that may (or may not) be happening back home. I’ve been living and working completely reactively for a while now, dropping a lot of the self care rituals I had carefully and lovingly created for myself. It has made me feel a little lost and I have not felt much internal peace for some time. The next few weeks I’ll be posting very sporadically, while I try to sit with and reclaim the little bit of space I felt open up last week, in advance of our trip. I’ll likely not be responding very quickly to messages, but rest assured I see them and I’m grateful 🙏🏼 The last 18 months has been a whirlwind and while in Bali I’ll be taking the time to develop some ideas around my work - both the content, the process and the balance between my creative flow, my business and my ability to meet my own personal needs. Each day that passes here I sleep a little deeper and I feel that bit of space expand further. I’m relieved and excited in equal measure. Thank you Bali, for having the exact energy I need to open myself up to the work I need to do. Endless gratitude 🙏🏼✨

  • 💕 You are loved! 💝 The album I’m talking about is a playlist called Growin’ In Love which includes a collection of songs about my transformation from the professional new age world into my relationship with God. I’ve been working on these songs since last October and I will be working on the whole album into the future as an ongoing musical performance project for YouTube (I’ll release the songs/full album elsewhere into the near future). I’m a #onewomanband with my #onewomanshow and regardless, albums take a long time! I have an entire song list I’ve created and each song is in a various stage of production. As each song is completed, I’ve been uploading each completed song to a single playlist. Subscribers getting my notifications will be part of the growth of the album. I think that’s different and neat. Other playlists on my channel include Studio Stories which are stories behind the songs and behind the scenes/ the making of/ the meaning of and vlogs. I have a playlist for ASMR massage music, and another playlist for my royalty free tracks. I just started this channel — OH! Check out my voice acting reel because that’s what I do, and a new one is coming too!!! 🧚‍♀️ And if you have suggestions for videos, DO TELL. — I am planning on doing Songwriter Tips, Songwriting Challenges for fun, Stories, ASMR and other entertaining, educational and inspirational things... maybe show my crystals with my music for healing, kids songs, and about my background and personal journey, so stay tuned! Well in order to stay tuned, you might want to subscribe and be getting my notifications too! Channel LINK in bio! 💕💎🌱Follow my IG and I just started an IGTV! • #Marchmeetthemaker Day something! Hands at work. A lot of the time when I'm working at home my little buddy Ali cat comes to join me, he's real helpful especially when he falls asleep on the keyboard and mousepad. He likes to start at the edge of my laptop then he stretches one arm out and shuffles a little then stretches a little more and so on until he's practically taken over. He likes to watch what I'm up ta or if I'm watching a video he loves it. If my hands aren't tapping away on here they are usually flicking through a diary, writing endless to do lists or on the rare occasion I get time to draw they are cross hatching like there's no tomorrow! When I'm not doing business work I'm usually weilding power tools or climbing scaffold, my hands are tough and not remotely dainty or pristine. #handsatwork #lifeofabusinessowner #femaletech #onewomanband

  • Hello lovely people. Apologies for being quiet on here for a while. I have been getting ready to go on an adventure. Tomorrow I jet off to south east Asia for 5 weeks. I will post when I can along the way but I am also taking a sketch book with me so when I am back I will share all of what I scribbled down and experienced. Who knows I might create a new range inspired by being a solo traveller. Girl power 💥

  • March Meet the Maker
Day 11: Reducing Waste

A sight always fascinates visitors to my workshop is my clay recycling buckets. I have four of these enormous buckets overflowing with offcuts of clay and failed, unfired pots. They work in rotation so I fill one up as the final one gets slaked down, scooped out and laid on a plaster block to get dry enough to knead. Then it sits in a plastic bag. The whole process takes about a year and then I can use my precious clay again.

Another thing I'm really pleased about is that I use 100% renewable energy from my energy provider Bulb @bulbstagram I use a lot of energy firing my kiln so this way, I can do it without worrying about the environment.

I also conserve water by using buckets to wash everything in, one with dirty water and one with clean. In the evening, I put one into the other and in the morning, scoop out the clean water to put outside and get new warm water in the buckets. I think it saves all the water I would use washing all my boards and tools (hands). I'm looking at my packaging next.

  • Here's a test run of my very first arrangement (that I have managed to finish lol). Not perfectly synced, even less perfectly sung since I only used kapwing online editor and rehearsed each voice like a couple of times, but I'm still quite happy with it. 😊 I've arranged it for @kvartetten.haga so once we've rehearsed it you'll get to hear a much better version with body percussion and all!

  • #MarchMeetTheMaker Day 10 - You
.
Here I am, all 5'1" of me. I'm Sue Reed, aka The Woolly Pedlar, age 57!
This photo is a screenshot from my last Facebook Live, after a busy day. I hold monthly Facebook markets on the first Friday of every month and do a Facebook Live to give the code word needed to buy items I've made over the previous month. I'm a bit rough round the edges but it shows me just as I am, no make up, double chins and all! This one nearly ended in disaster when I spilt a glass of wine over my laptop. All is well though and it dried out!
I gave up teaching in 2011 and run a one woman show up rural Northumberland, upcycling waste wool knitwear.
