If you haven’t tried broccoli slaw you’re missing out!. I dressed it up with a nutrient-dense dressing I made with a handful of cilantro, garlic, spinach, tahini, and lemon. As always, feel free to experiment and substitute out any of the ingredients to suit your tastebuds. You can use this dressing with salads, with noodles, or use as a dip for vegetables. Tahini has such a nice kick and at 0 net carbs, it’s a great alternative to using oil for dressings.

To make a large batch of the dressing/pesto:
.
1.In a small food processor, I threw in 1 handful of fresh cilantro, 1 cup of baby spinach, 2 cloves fresh garlic, 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1/4 onion, juice of 1.5 lemons.
.
2.Pulsed all of the above together, then added 2 tablespoons of tahini.
.
3.Pulse and pureed everything above and added sea salt, pepper, and a little ginger, then ran the food processor again.
.
4.At this point, I did a quick taste of the sauce to see if I wanted to season with more salt, add more lemon juice, or add more herbs. This all depends on your taste buds. I mixed some of it with the slaw and put the rest in the fridge.

Is this you? 🤷🏻‍♂️This “area” of nutrition is something I really feel strongly about as I know first-hand that this is likely the cause of so many diet failures out there. Racette et al (2008), (yes, someone actually studied the influence of  weekend lifestyle patterns on body weight) even proved that people who reported greater dieting consistency (ie. maintaining the same diet regimen on weekends as on weekdays) were more likely to maintain their weight & lose fat vs those who were less consistent & overate on weekends being more likely to regain their weight therefore, in addition to contributing to the development of weight gain, high dietary intake on weekends relative to weekdays may hinder weight loss & contribute to weight regain.

What does this mean for you? Well, it’s clear that one of, if not the biggest, differences between those who get results (i.e. maintain or lose weight) and those who don’t are that, the ones who get results are those who can maintain consistency within their diet. I’m not saying that you CAN’T overeat on the weekends & compensate by under eating on weekdays to still achieve WEEKLY totals however, usually all that leads to is a bad relationship with food whereby you’ll crash diet & restrict various foods during the week only to then binge on them on the weekend (Stewart et al 2002) which is no real way to live 👎🏼.

Fix: When you approach your nutrition, forget the word diet & instead focus on adopting an “eating lifestyle” that you can adhere to LONG TERM. Saturday & Sunday are days just like any others, calories still count (unfortunately) so thinking that you can completely forget about training & resort to poor eating habits & not cause any damage is just naïve. You don’t have to work out, you don’t have to eat your habitual meals but still try to be SOMEWHAT active like going for a hike etc. instead of sitting on the couch all day and/or make SOME sound food choices like having one donut instead of 12 lol 🍩. Moderation is the key 🔑

I've spent years "eating healthy"  only to find out that what I thought was healthy really wasn't. 🤦🏼‍♀️
For instance, this salad serves four people. It's the same size as a salad from McDonalds. Only way healthier and better tasting. But, if I sat and ate the entire salad, it would no longer be healthy for my body. 😧 We need to stop looking for the magic pill or the lose weight quick answer, and start eating the right food to fuel our bodies. In the right amounts for our goals.

  • Sunday funday!!! 👩🏼‍🍳 Sunday is a great day to chill and line up a winning week especially in the kitchen! I am a creature of habit with my food because I enjoy simplicity and consistency. What that means is that I can knock out 5 solid meals of chicken rice and veg and happily enjoy them throughout the week as “staples”😉 It took me less than 5 mins (I life hacked w a rice cooker, frozen veg and cooked chicken)
Seriously: who doesn’t have time to eat well?
Cooked chicken: $9
Bag of rice: $2.10
Bag of frozen broccoli $2.50
Bag of frozen beans $2.50
5 pack of Containers $2

And BOOM: 5 meals for $18.10 ($3.60 a pop)
Plus with all the time and money I saved, I made a lentil curry w left over rice and still have veggies for days! 
This is what my commitment to a great week looks like... what have you lined up? Get cooking!

  • When you want to go to Hawaii but Hawaii comes to you🥰❤️ God is sooo good! I DREAMED about trying Sapodilla (a fruit I’ve been seeing floating around Instagram)a couple weeks ago and here I have it in front of me along with some other incredible fruit! 🥰 Dreams DO come true.

UPDATE: after I recorded the video I found the note the package came with explaining the things in it😅
1. It IS Soursop! 🥳 Super excited to try it in the morning! Another bucket list fruit marked off ☑️
2. That first pretty thing on video is 2 ornamental seed keepsake for the girls (not a fruit like I thought!😅)
3. I tried a very soft ripe sapodilla and 🤤🤤🤤 WOW. LOVE THEM! Ate the skin toooo, it was so melt in my mouth goooood😍 Flavor was amazing, nothing like a fruit I’ve ever tasted but as I taste more of them I’ll be able to at least describe it better🤗

    3. I tried a very soft ripe sapodilla and 🤤🤤🤤 WOW. LOVE THEM! Ate the skin toooo, it was so melt in my mouth goooood😍 Flavor was amazing, nothing like a fruit I’ve ever tasted but as I taste more of them I’ll be able to at least describe it better🤗

A simple change in what you eat and how often you eat certain foods can change your entire health. .

This just makes me so happy.
Please read ... . “I first met Andriana in the gym. I mentioned that despite all my years committed in exercising and eating well I just didn’t feel right. I had days where I felt lethargic. I would wake up and my face would look puffy and some days even swollen. My hands and feet would swell and I had days where I looked 5 months pregnant from being bloated. Andriana mentioned to have an IgA allergy test run to check for foods that could be triggering inflammation. Little did I know that in all this time I have an intolerance to dairy! I felt like crying with joy as now I knew why I had all these symptoms all this time. I had no idea at all that I may have an intolerance to my so called healthy eating. I would normally have protein shake (whey), low fat cottage cheese, yogurt as my go to “healthy” protein snack every day!   • -Transformation Thursday- 
I was a 24/7 single mom at that time and I was running my own cleaning business and I still did it!! It only took me 25 min a day! 
When I got tired of feeling tired, ugly and unhealthy, I took the extra work it took to bring myself to a better version of me. 
Before I joined Team BEACHBODY, I thought I was eating 'right' but I realized just a few minor changes were keeping me from getting the full results from my nutrition and exercise routines. I realized how much certain food was causing me to be bloated, caused headache, constipation and inflammations causing me to always be taking pills to momentarily solve the problems...
I lost 5 pounds, I built muscles and got rid of unwanted fats acumulated in different areas in my body. 
I gained a new perspective when going food shopping, as well as confidence, health and best of all, I was happy again.

  • Made it alive after my run but I can say that at one point after 3 miles I stopped for 10 mins and I thought of many ways to possible fly back!! :/ I had to keep telling my mind that I could do it over and over again... Wow!! Consistency is everything!
