A Muslim man caught the Prime minister of New Zealand off guard.
He had some very strong words for her.
Salaam, allow me to reintroduce myself -> my name is Ayesha & I am (most likely) your token Muslim friend. If you’re reading this, chances are you’re NOT Muslim (we only make up 1% of the US population)⠀
I’m a fairly private person. But because of the political climate, I feel the need to share. This is me heading to the local mosque for Friday prayer. Watch my IG-stories to get a virtual tour.⠀
You’ll be seeing an influx of religious posts from me. I’m hoping to dispel some misconceptions about my community. I’m not an “influencer” who cares about her “personal brand” or a curated theme. I got a loud voice & I’ll be using it to kindly say please STOP KILLING US #NewZealand#ChristChurch

A Southern Right Whale and a diver swim together 💙🐋 in the frigid waters of New Zealand’s Sub-Antarctic Auckland Islands during wintertime. These enormous whales can reach lengths of 45 feet and weights of over 70 tons.🦈

Today I chose to wear a Hijab, in support of our muslim women 🧕❤
I learnt a lot today.... not even two hours into my day while wearing this I experienced verbal abuse, by someone who I have never seen before or doesn't know anything about me. I was greeted with "eah get that fucking shit of your head" 🙄 was a bit of a shock, and hurt me a little but then I thought about why I chose to wear this today, and the reason why was so much more important than what some random had to say about me.
I carried on with my day, and then I experienced whispering, staring, judgemental looks etc etc, and again I reminded myself why I am doing this.
I sat back and thought about what I had experienced this morning and it hurt me so bad! This is the sort of thing our Muslim women experience daily 😭 by people who don't know them or anything about them 💔😭 it made me see just how strong they are. I absolutely admire them as people, and as a religion. They do not let what other people say or how they act towards them, get to them. They stay strong to their beliefs and wear what they wear with pride 😍🧕 We then went to the Mosque this afternoon to pay our respects and support our community ❤ it was beautiful.! 🕌 So many people showed up in support, and it was beautiful to see how many non-muslim women wore hijabs.
Today was such a big life lesson for me, I feel so empowered by the strength, pride, kindness, humility and acceptance by our Muslim brothers and sisters! ❤
Although under stink circumstances I am so glad I got to experience this with my babies. To teach them that no matter what skin colour, race, or religion you are, to be kind, ALWAYS. To show my girls, what real strength is, and how to be respectful, and supportive in times like this. Teaching them now, will establish how they will be in the future 😍❤ #Iamproud#teachingmybabies#lifelessons#strength#courage#weareone#theyareus#standwithchristchurch#noracism#primeministerofnewzealand#Christchurch#newzealand#terroristattack#thebritishmuslim
We spent 3 days at Marahau, doing a small stretch of the Abel Tasman track and watching the magnificent sunrises and sunsets before carrying on to Nelson. Went on a trip to whispering falls. We’re now in Marlborough Sounds, last night was our our fifth night. Such a beautiful area of the country, and we’re dining like kings on muscles and fresh fish!
P.s. @stirlingdeaton_8 you should tuck your pockets in! #marahau #abeltasman #marlbroughsounds #southislandnz #newzealand
"In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole and that meant comfort." • • •
Words can hardly describe the ecstatic, heady feeling that comes from having a childhood dream fulfilled. The Shire is magical, stunning and a portal that transports you right back to Middle Earth!! • • •
MILFORD SOUND, FIORDLAND, NZ: It is impossible to describe the Milford Sound, a fiord with everything one might ask for. Rainforests, waterfalls, amazing wildlife, and views of epic mountains.
However, as we sat on the boat and contemplated on fiord’s majestic outlook, we could not stop ourselves from wondering how it would be to walk on these mountains and experience Milford up and close. To hike, and sweat and just be constantly amazed by where the path takes us.
Maybe someday that’ll be a reality. Until then, our feet run somewhere else...

Well there it is, 3 peaks in a day! I was allowing myself 24 hours to get this done but managed to smash it out in a combined time of 8 hours and 15 minutes of moving time while burning 3887 calories along the way and reaching both a 5k PB & 10k PB. After a decent fall on Mount Grey (another 3 falls on the other two), battling fatigue on Mount Thomas and taking on Mt Richardson last in the dark to the sound of a thousand screeching & screaming wild pigs all over the track and in the bushes (one of which ran out a metre in front of me), I finally hit the summit at 10:30pm to complete the Himalayan Trust Summit Challenge I've been doing throughout this month with a total altitude of 9455m (8848m was the goal)! Thanks for all the support from everyone, looking forward to a few beers and some much deserved rest and recovery now....
Do you know what your spirit animal is?
Comment below ☺️
Mine is the butterfly 🦋🌿
An important message carried by the spirit of the butterfly is about the ability to go through important changes with grace and lightness.
This animal totem is primarily associated with symbolism of change and transformation. A secondary meaning of the butterfly is about finding joy in life and lightness of being.
This power animal is a good inspiration for adding more color into your life and self-expression. Those who have the butterfly as a totem animal may be naturally inclined to express themselves openly, to reflect their colors into their environment. 🌈
