We made it to Arabia Mountain during the short bloom-window for Diamorpha smallii! A member of the Crassulaceae, this ruby red wonder is a federally endangered endemic to the southeast and a perfect rollout to spring!
Even though I’ve been wrapped up with boring adult things, today I spent some time outside at Eaton Canyon. I knocked out an interview and quick walk by a stream. Aside from the bajillion people, I really enjoyed myself.
I walked by these flowers, which reminded me of the cover of Tallgrass Conversations, a new book co-written by my next guest, Cindy Crosby (@phrelanzer) and Thomas Dean. Being able to interview Cindy about her book and the prairies she hikes was a real delight, and I’m happy I got my own taste of some tallgrass today.
Always a man's best friend right?
Currently the last of my edits of the ice climbers and their faithful dog. He was such a poser. They did ask that I share these images with them so I hope they got as much enjoyment out of them as I have.
