Enjoyed using a mixture of #EDM and #classical for the track, and its also an interesting representation of the two genres that started me off on my musical #journey in the first place, coming together into one.
Overthinking is the enemy. Especially when you’re creative. I swear it seems so obvious and I’d like to assume that I’m not saying anything that you don’t already know. You’re just not being mindful of them. Let me talk to my producers for a second... when I first started making beats, I was selling them to make a living ($50 here, $150 there etc) or to at least pay for some bills. I hated mostly all of the music that was being made because I wasn’t excited to work with these artists I was selling beats to. I was unhappy/unfulfilled. The moment I decided to only focus on making music with artists I actually liked (mostly independent at first) and started to BUILD REAL CONNECTIONS with them, my life changed and I found purpose. Of course I wasn’t making as much $ at first, but I sacrificed that in exchange for happiness. Times got hard of course but I never let any of that stop me. The thought of “quitting” never entered my mind. It was a huge risk and I bet on it. All in. All on myself......... Now I have a Grammy.
The point he is trying to make is this... stop overthinking your way to happiness and success. It’s all very simple. Our “smart minds” are getting in the way of our actual instinct and intuition. You can’t calculate success. You can have STRONG VISION, but the way you achieve it will be a roller coaster ride of surprises, and as long as you’re OK with that, you might just have what it takes to do this for the rest of your life and find true happiness and fulfillment.
