Amonhotep hastaydı ve Mitanni Kralıda tedavi amacıyla güzel kızı Tadupika’yı Mısır’a yolladı. ——————————————————— #nefertiti #egypt #art #arkeolojiyedairhersey #sanat #tarih #arkeolojimüzesi #müze #museum #archeologia #history #archeologist #archeologie #archeologylife #archeologymuseum #archeologytour #archeology #archeologyphotography#arkeolog #arkeologi #arkeologiskmuseum #africanature #african #africanwoman

  • Cent'anni🎉🎊🥳. So how awesome is my grandfather that he not only celebrates 100 year birthday, but also gets a certificate from @governortomwolf, AND a proclamation from his local House Representative Merkowski?
Cent'anni indeed.

  • During a recent tour, one of our visitors made us aware of a detail from one of our dioramas we had not realised yet. It is from the shipyards in our diorama of the container pier of Bremerhaven in a scale of 1:1250. You are looking at @cunard Queen Elizabeth 2 (1969-2008). The miniature shows the ship in her condition in 1982, when she served as a troops transport during the Falklands War. This conflict started on April the 2nd of that year, when Argentina occupied the Falklands (the Malvinas in Spanish), a British crown colony since 1841. It ended the following June the 14th with the surrender of Argentina. A total of 904 military personnel and 3 civilians were killed.
On May the 3rd, the British government requisitioned the QE 2 for military duty. Two days later the works to transform her in a troops transport started at the Vosper Thomycroft shipyard in Southampton. The extra helicopter pads you see in the miniature were installed, public areas were transformed into dormitories, carpets covered with hardboard, the hull was reinforced and antimagnetic coil installed to avoid seamines. The ship left Southampton on May the 12th. Over 650 volunteers worked as crew while 3.000 members of the Fifth Infantry Brigade were aboard. To avoid detection, the ship was blacked out and steamed without radar. This, of course, was a challenge. The Queen Elizabeth 2 returned to Southampton on June the 11th.
With her aspect as a troops transport, the QE 2 was never in Bremerhaven. She nevertheless came to the Lloyd shipyard of that German port 4 years later. After a series of technical problems, Cunard decided to do a large series of inprovements on her. Between 1986 and 1987 she was transformed from a steam ship to a diesel fueled motor ship. Her interiors also got modernised.
Our impressive diorama of the container terminal Bremerhaven in a scale of 1:1250 stands on deck 9 of the museum.

  • As much as I enjoy seeing install shots of my work in a gallery, I love seeing it hanging in the homes of clients even more. It's always humbling to me to know that someone wants my work to be part of their home and to spend time living with it, allowing these vessels to continue their travels to beautiful locales.

Hailing from and still sailing in Montauk, pictured here are: “Billy The Kid”
“Hi Sea”
“Savannah Leigh”

Lucky boats to have such a beautiful new home.

  • Coming at you is the hybodus, or “hump tooth!” It’s one of a few species in the Hybodontidae family and lived about 180 million years ago. Hybodontids were common sharks during most of the Mesozoic and are regarded as a sister group to modern sharks and rays. They had robust braincases, heavy dorsal spines, and well-developed rib cages (an unusual feature in sharks). The model pictured shows what Hybodus may have looked like. See it up close in the Hall of Vertebrate Origins on the Museum’s fourth floor.
