  • It’s always funny watching people’s reactions when I tell them we sold our home and all of our things to live in a van and travel. Their first question is always “well, what about the baby?” or the best “why didn’t you do this before having kids?” as if our life has to stop and our dreams must be forfeited because we decided to start a family. That’s actually the exact opposite of how we like to live! We don’t want to wait until retirement to be able travel and spend time together, Luna is little now, this is when we want to be together. We want to see the world and bring her too. We want her to have experiences that’ll impact her forever. Though she may not remember all of the trips we’ll take, we believe her exposure to the different cultures, foods and landscapes will enrich her childhood and instill a sense of adventure, compassion, respect and gratitude as she navigates life on her own. Plus, as far as we’re concerned we’ve only lived less than 1/3 of our lives so far so we have a lot of life left to live 😜. .

If you’re currently waiting for the stars to align for your dreams to come true do not wait. Do not wait for everything to be “just right” because that time may never come. What is “just right” is believing in yourself now and being fearless in your pursuit of what sets your soul on fire. So c’mon, you got this! And I got yo back 😘✊🏼

  • Matlock Bath, where lovers walk.
.
I’m sorry it’s taken me almost two years to come back for a visit.
You are just as beautiful as you were then.
And I don’t struggle to finish my fish and chips anymore ♥️

  • Okay this is actually the longest caption I’ve ever written. Here we go: It’s been really interesting pushing myself to write these captions that dig a bit deeper into my psyche and really make me think not only a little bit more about how I want to come across on this feed, but to push boundaries of 'normal' a little bit more.

I sat down to write this caption thinking that I wanted to talk about journaling (which is a wonderful thing and I do it every morning and I’ll get to that at a later date), but as I write, I really want to talk about what’s ‘normal’ and what I think I need to break out of, for myself.

I hold myself to a very high standard for everything. I want a career that pushes me creatively and professionally, that offers stability and comfort. Throughout my schooling and, I’d say, since college, that was the goal for me. Desk job. 9-5. Salary, 401k, structure. (Healthcare, lol.) But the longer and more I continue to work in fields that don’t offer me that, I’m forced to rethink what success means to me. Maybe it is a desk job where comfortability is built into the description, but out of 5 years of my ‘adult-working’ life, only two have offered me that.

If you’ve known me in the past year or so, I’ve had my fingers in so many creative pies, so-to-speak. I want to be creative and grow everywhere from script and creative writing, to readjusting my styles of photography and edits, to painting and creating a book (we’ll see), to playing with the idea (and stay tuned) about a podcast, and I feel like my next dare to myself will be to do an improv class even though it sort of terrifies me. I took a WSET wine class just for the shits of it and interests me.

Anyway, we’ll see what comes of the next chapters, but really, I want this to note to hit home for anyone who is not sure of what they want to do with their lives and to hopefully start breaking down a brick wall you might’ve made for yourself that encloses you in on what you might think is the right path for yourself. Start freaking hacking away at it, because if you’re considering that it might not be right for you, it probably isn’t. And that’s really, realllyyyy okay.

  • Later this year I will be spending two whole weeks in Italy..... my Grandad’s birthplace.
I’m not sure I’ve ever been more excited or emotional about a travel destination.
The best part? Taking my beautiful little boy with me. His favourite things in the world are sunshine, water and pizza. I think he and Italy will get along just fine.
.
Have you got any travel destinations already booked for 2019. I wanna hear everything 🗺

  • “It's a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you're ready. I have this feeling now that actually no one is ever ready to do anything. There is almost no such thing as ready. There is only now. And you may as well do it now. Generally speaking, now is as good a time as any.” - Hugh Laurie

I'm not usually one for chucking quotes in captions cos I think they're cheesy AF, but hey, here I am being cheesy AF because this is actually my favourite quote EVER. There's this thing amongst us, humans, where we're constantly waiting for the 'right' time. Usually, it's when we have more money or when the time is right (WTF does that even mean?). In all honesty, there will never be a time where we have enough money because enough never seems to be enough. There's no such thing as the 'perfect time' - something will always throw us out of balance, but that's just life. Sometimes it takes a tragedy for us realise that we need to make the most of the present, that we only have life in control right now. So, whatever it is that you're delaying until the time is 'right'.. The time is now.

We're all guilty of this - I know I for one am. It could be the smallest thing, like, locking in a lunch date with a friend you haven't seen in ages, planning a family reunion, or committing to your business idea. In the end, you always regret the things you didn't do sooner. What are you guilty of delaying?

  • No amount of observations of white swans can allow the inference that all swans are white, but the observation of a single black swan is sufficient to refute that conclusion.
