Whenever I post a before and after picture I always get comments like “beautiful before and after” and “you were pretty before you lost weight” while I’m not disagreeing with that, the fact is that when I was 311 pounds, I was invisible to pretty much everyone. When I was heavy, I would walk into a particular clothing store and the attendants wouldn’t even greet me. I never got a “Hey, how are you doing today? Are you finding everything OK? Any fun plans for the weekend?” Even just a simple “Hi” would have been nice but I never got it until I lost weight. For some reason, they were friendlier to the smaller me 🤷🏼‍♀️ I mean, I wasn’t always fat, but I was for long enough to forget what it felt like to be treated well by strangers. What was I before I lost weight, chopped liver? I am the same me. I am the same person as I had been when I was fat. The only thing that changed was my weight. This is not my reason “why” I lost weight, but it’s definitely something I’ve noticed that has changed. I’m not mad at anyone who treated me like a waste of space and I get it we all have our prejudices. Including myself. But I am encouraging everyone to take a moment, and recognize those prejudices and try to see the potential and value in EVERYONE because you know nothing about the person you’re treating poorly or super nicely so make an effort to learn about them! Looks are only skin deep, what matters is on the inside ❤️.

Introducing @alliedoesketo - This is the first time I’ve confidently worn a bikini in over 10 years. I grew up on the beach so this used to be the norm for me when I was younger. Now, I have stretch marks and loose skin to show how far I’ve come and I am so thankful!! Thank you to my sister for my new to me bathing suit! This is a journey I’m so thankful I started. I wish I would’ve started earlier.⁣

  • If I’m being honest, the picture on the left doesn’t get easier for me to post.
On the left-I was so afraid to start. I was so afraid to fail AGAIN. Each time I started a diet and didn’t stick to it...I lost a piece of me.
But what I learned along the way is that while I THOUGHT I was looking to lose weight-I was really looking for happiness. I wanted to feel good. I was looking for a way out of my depression and anxiety that plagued me EVERY DAY.
It’s still easy for me to look back at these photos and feel ashamed of how out of control I was...and maybe that’s how you feel today. 
But what I can tell you is this: 
You are worth the fight.
Happiness is worth the fight.
Feeling good is worth the fight. 
Not being depressed is worth the fight. 
And you are not fighting this alone. 
This fight is worth it-and so are YOU.
Don’t let fear get in your way. 
Don’t let the opinions of others get in your way. 
One step at a time-you CAN and you WILL.

Almond flour blender pancakes⁣
.⁣
4oz of cream cheese (microwave 15-30sec)⁣
4 eggs (room temp)⁣
3/4 cup of Almond flour⁣
1 tsp baking powder⁣
1-2 Tablespoons of sweetener ⁣
1/2- 1tsp vanilla ⁣
1/8 tsp Cinnamon⁣

Coconut flour pancakes⁣
.⁣
•4oz cream cheese⁣
•4eggs⁣
•4 tableapoons of coconut flour⁣
•1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder⁣
•1-2 tablespoons of sweetener or liquid sweetener (I use liquid stevia)⁣
.⁣
Optional but I always use⁣
•1/2 tsp cinnamon⁣
•1 tsp vanilla extract⁣
•1/2 tsp maple extract⁣
.⁣
Directions:⁣
-Put all ingredients in blender or mixer. Blend for 45 seconds - 1 minute. -Let sit for 10mins before cooking -enjoy with butter and SF syrup *you can freeze and warm up in toaster or microwave.⁣

  • Today, March 19, is my one year #KetoAnniversary. A lot of you have seen the pictures I have posted of the #KetoEats & #KetoTreats I make and pictures of my progress. What I don’t talk about is why I started a #KetoJourney to begin with. I could make it easy and say it was to support my sister and the #ShitMySisterMakesMeDo but that’s not the truth.

In 2018, my dad, Laurence, was diagnosed with #COPD and #MetastaticMelanoma. Knowing Dad’s prognosis wasn’t good, I decided to make changes in my own life and I started the #KetoDiet with my sister. For me, Keto required two things to succeed: #Commitment and #Sacrifice! That set me up to be successful!

This is one of the last family photos that we took with dad. This was at my parent’s 45th #WeddingAnniversary in June 2018. I’m the one with the beard. I started my Keto diet at 240 pounds and I was about 200 pounds in this photo.

In August 2018, Dad’s health began to deteriorate and he was admitted to #PalliativeCare in #Brantford. But he fought every single day…to get better…to get out. That’s all I wanted from Dad. Believe me, he fought!

At that point, I lost so much weight, Dad didn’t recognize me. He knew he had three kids though. At one point, when my sister and I were visiting him, smiling, he asked, “Who’s this guy?” #ShitMyDadSays

Come September 2018, he’d look really hard at me and we knew he was trying to figure out just who I was. Those times when I was alone with Dad, I’d ask if he knew who I was. He’d shake his head no. I’d tell him that I was his son, Jake (Jason) and I’d tell him that I lost a lot of weight. He’d smile and laugh as if he should’ve known. 
I lost my Dad on September 21, 2018. #FuckCancer

I could have said eff it but I continued with my #KetoTransformation.

In a year, I went from #Obese to #Overweight to a normal weight fluctuating between 172 and 175. Looking down at me, I know dad would be proud of me. 
That’s my #TransformationTuesday story for any person who could use some motivation to start their own #KetoJourney or just have a reason to continue in a trying time.  It can be done! ~ Jason ~

살치살은 버터에 구워서 같이 먹었어요.

야채는 적당히 썰어서 씨겨자드레싱으로
버무린후 오븐 200도씨에 25분정도 구웠습니다.
살치살한점에 야채콕콕 찍어
곁들여 먹음 넘 맛있어요😍👍🏻

한그릇에 적당히 담아먹으니
매번 남김없이 드레싱까지
박박 핧아먹게되네요.😅

My short hiatus was due to the lack of planning and mental preparation I was able to do whilst in the middle of a busy period of this thing we call life. 
I kicked myself out of ketosis for a good few weeks and in that time I didn’t even try and eat “clean” I binged on anything I could get my paws on. 
I’m back now and using this as my platform for accountability as well as sending @mmirembex all my meals daily. This way I have someone to push me to go a little harder and to stay on track, whilst in turn doing the same for them. A little luxury called give and take! 
Anyway- breakfast today is sautéed kale and small plum tomatoes with 2 fried eggs. 
Yum.

🥒 Served with lazy sides of chopped baby cucumbers with chilli flakes, salt, pepper and olive oil
🧀 and a pile of shredded mozz and spring onions for decorative effect (and SO delicious!!)

📝INGREDIENTS
For Steaks:
4 pork chops, bone in or boneless (about 1-inch thick)
Salt and pepper, to season
2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
2 tablespoons butter, divided
6 garlic cloves lightly crushed with the back of a knife, divided
6-8 thyme sprigs, divided (or rosemary or parsley)
For Mushroom Sauce:
2 cloves garlic crushed
1/2 cup of chicken broth
1 cup sliced brown mushrooms
3/4 cup heavy cream
2 teaspoons fresh chopped parsley
1 teaspoon fresh chopped thyme

👩🏼‍🍳INSTRUCTIONS
Season chops with salt and pepper. Heat oil and butter in a frying pan or skillet over medium-high heat until butter is melted.
When pan is hot, sear chops for about 5 minutes per side until golden browned and the centre is no longer bright pink. Transfer to a warm plate. Set aside.
Add the mushrooms to the buttery juices in the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes over medium heat. When mushrooms are browned, add the crushed garlic and sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
Pour in the wine (or broth) and cook until liquid has reduced by half (about 3 minutes). Add the cream and bring to a simmer. Add the herbs and season with salt and pepper, to your taste.
Add the chops back into the sauce, allow to simmer for a minute to heat through. Serve immediately.

  • I have officially lost 25 pounds today. I will post a photo update at my 30 pound mark. 🙂 Last night I did meal prep. I bought smaller 12 oz microwave and dishwasher safe food prep containers from amazon so I could store more prepped meals in the fridge and my lunch box. I baked and portioned 4 oz servings of chicken thighs and salmon, seasoned with salt, pepper, butter and garlic. Then I paired both with a serving of green beans.  For something different I added a serving of mozzarella to the salmon meals because we ran out of cheddar. These smaller containers and portions help me to stick to 1700 calories a day on keto. Once a week I go to Costco and buy two types of protein and a vegetable in bulk to do meal prep for that week for my husband and myself.
