To me one of the most important things in life is travel. I can never stay in one place for too long. I get bored easily. I’ve lived in several places, always looking for something new. So travel has became my escape. Escaping the stale energy and people around me to find new souls, cultures, and environments that inspire me. I grow with every trip, never coming back the same.
“I think I’m in love with – and I think it would interest you – John Kennedy – he’s the son of the ambassador to England – the second son – the oldest was killed. He’s 35 and a Congressman.’’ - Jackie Kennedy 🌿
President John F. Kennedy and his wife Jackie at a White House luncheon honoring Prince Rainier lll and Princess Grace of Monaco, 24 May 1961.
It should come as no surprise that HSH Princess Grace of Monaco would have been close friends with the Kennedy family. The Kelly and Kennedy clans both come from similar backgrounds; poor Irish immigrants who managed to make their way to the top of the social-economic ladder in the United States. John F. Kennedy (the world would later learn) suffered from numerous and painful ailments throughout his relatively short life and this was a cause of great concern for those who knew him closely. In 1954 he was hospitalized due to severe back trouble and Princess Grace was so concerned she rushed to see him, but a private, personal meeting would obviously be very difficult. So, believe it or not, Jackie Kennedy arranged for Grace to sneak into the hospital dressed as a nurse in order to visit the future President (this being before his election and before Grace Kelly became Princess of Monaco). Of course, with her established talents as an actress, Grace was able to pull off the ruse flawlessly. Looking for a new book to read? I highly recommend this book. It does a great job of capturing life back in the 1960s in the United States.
Neither man had it easy and continued to put their life on the line to enable the American Dream for everyone.
I still have a hard time believing the ideologies of Southerners. If African American’s were treated as 2nd class citizens in the own country how can you claim that United States was better than Communism? “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country” “...Free at last. Free at last.” #mlk#jfk
Zay had to choice a famous person to learn about and be for his school's #waxmuseum . He chose #jfk who has always been his favorite. All the kids did a wonderful job, so glad I was able to be there to see all their hard work.
I’ve had bad luck with clouds lately but who else thinks LAX is the most scenic approach in the world? Especially when coming from the forests of the east coast. Not to mention the best spotting in North America (sorry JFK) #delta#skymileslife#lax#california#losangeles#jfk
