“Get comfortable being uncomfortable...”

That quote spoke to me the other day. 
Growth and progress don’t feel good while they’re happening.
They’re dynamic processes that happen over time; the forward movement happens in the hard parts, I think...when you’re pushing through something.

Whether it’s learning math, a dance routine, running that mile faster, strengthening a muscle, practicing mindfulness, honing distress tolerance skills, or building a business.

You’ll be UNCOMFORTABLE and uncertain and that’s normal. 
You’re going to mess up. 
You’re not going to know what you’re doing sometimes. 
You should should expect this and if what you’re working for is something you genuinely want and is worth wanting, then keep going.

Getting fit and losing 190 pounds—(notice there was no weigh-in this week: I decided throwing a body weight number into the mix would complicate matters more than it would help, given the state of me the past few days 🙃, we’ll check that out next Monday)—has been uncomfortable from start to present; in ways both positive and negative.

Sometimes it’s that good kind of sore, that feel good kind of pain.
Sometimes it’s just crap.
It’s all part of the journey.

Get comfortable being uncomfortable.

It’s okay. 
It will pass. 
It’s normal.

I’m embarking on a lot of new stuff, a lot of firsts, and working on things that I’ve only ever dreamed about. 
It’s comfortable, for sure.
Around here, though, we just keep going.

When you run your body into the ground week after week, it does take a toll.

Exercise smart and give your body a break. We all know the story of the the straw that broke the donkey’s back.

BUT...

A deload week isn’t a scape goat for a week of slacking.
__
Turn down the weight & pump up the volume!
__
I’ve been thinking on 315 x 20 for weeks & what better time to attempt than on a week with less load?
__
Point is to always challenge yourself, continually step outside of your comfort zone. 
__
What are some of your deload week strategies?
__
I plan on dropping down to around 70-80% of my max and working my way back up gradually into PR territory. Slow & steady FTW. 💪🏽✌🏽

  • Here’s how I save time getting ready every ☀️ morning

Every 1-3 months (depending on the service/procedure I need to touch up) I visit these amazing babes 👯 at @sparksbytiny⚡️ Thank you Elaine and Sabrina as they’re my go to place for

1. Lash Lifting
So thankful to have found this procedure because I have stopped using an eyelash curler, it honestly scares me to KIAP my lashes like that 😂 and it speeds up my “getting ready time” 💁🏻 you know this is very important to me

2. Gel 💅 Manicure
Your girl needs colour and sparkles ✨ in her life and for the work that I do my nails last a month

3. Eyeliner Embroidery
For me it was a painless experience because they applied a numbing cream before the procedure and the cream lasts throughout, it was barely swollen as well and I recovered quite quickly - *note that it is different for each person as I have a high tolerance for ✌️PAIN

4. Eyebrow Waxing and Tinting
Honey you can’t leave your house without those on and I love neat brows on myself and on people so pleasing to the eyes

Seee, it’s become my one stop place really and it saves me SO MUCH TIME - I’m like some kiasu time chasing aunty

  • When I desperately miss home, am too tired to cook and need some **real** Mexican food in my life, this is my happy place. I've been bringing people here for 5 years and every time - without fail - they're always left gobsmacked. The food is delicious and the service is wonderful! 
Last night, I indulged in my favourites: queso flameado (not pictured - we were hungry 🤭 lol) & enchiladas de mole. Also decided to try their pastel de elote which was divine!
