Who can relate?

This just came up on my memories and I thought it was hilarious. Five years ago I was using fashion colors but boy were they different. This was just from drying the persons hair! This was NOT @pulpriothair . My world changed when pulpriot came out with their first line of colors. Little to no bleeding or staining. And if it stains, it's gone within a wash or 2. (Not 2 or 3 days!) I'm grateful for progress. I'm grateful for rainbows and mermaids and unicorns. I'm grateful for @pulpriothair color in my life. #riotsquad#pulpriothair#heididoeshair

I don’t know about you, but that little burst of summer has me craving crisp, high acid white wines! The Kerner grape is a crossing of Riesling and the red grape Trollinger (also known as Schiava). This particular wine is from the Alpine Alto Adige region of northeastern Italy. There is heavy German and French influence in this region, with German being a more common language than Italian. The wine is fresh with ripe notes of yellow pears, apples, and a tropical hint of mango. Mouthwatering acidity quenches your palate, and makes you want to keep sipping. Maybe if we think summer and drink summer, we’ll chase the rain away and bring back the sun! 🤞

I always enjoy when friends on IG introduce themselves, so I figured I’d give it a whirl. 💫 I’ve never done this before, but here are a few fun tidbits about me:
1️⃣ My name is Regina, but if you’re a close friend of mine, the name “Regina” would NEVER roll off your tongue.........it’s Gina, G, Gi-Gi, and even sometimes Ginners. I also spent my ENTIRE childhood HATING my name (wishing it was Kathleen or Samantha?!?), only to completely fall in love with it during college years. ♥️ #sosilly
2️⃣ The name @the.redheaded.artist comes from my embracing my natural redhead roots 👩🏻🦰 and a play on my initials (Regina Hagemann). #theredheadedartist
3️⃣ Early on, becoming a teacher didn’t seem possible. I had such a FEAR in public speaking, even throughout college! I actually DROPPED college classes if I discovered presentations were a part of my grade. 🤦🏼♀️ We’re talking anxiety that would keep me awake ALL night, nausea, shakes, and the dreaded FLUSHED face & neck HIVES throughout the 2 minute speech on some random country in South America or the breakdown of a cell. It wasn’t until I became a preschool teacher (at age 21) that I started to overcome my fear of public speaking (even if my audience couldn’t tie their shoes or write their names yet...I was still nervous!). Occasionally, my nervousness creeps up on me, especially if someone hands me a microphone. 🎤 😳🥴 And we won’t get into interviews... 🤮. What I have realized though is that “nervousness” keeps me on my toes...keeps me sharp during an interview/ presentation...I’ll do my research until I know the topic inside & out and you can guarantee that I’ve written and REWRITTEN my speech 36,000 times before I present! #lookatthepositive
4️⃣ I love running. 🏃♀️ I wish I could make it a priority every single day, but there just aren’t enough hours in the day! Annnndddd I also love sleeping, lol. 😴 #sleep#run
5️⃣ It might sounds strange, but I don’t consider going to work “work.” I genuinely enjoy teaching art 🖼 and I suppose that’s why I’m able to do so much with my students and in my building. Sure, there are plenty of nights (continued in comments!).....
So apparently sand surfing is a thing. Super fun! I finally had a chance to visit Monahans Sandhills State Park after work and while surfing was fun, exploring the sandhills was the best part. Nature is always so calming. ❤️ I also had an interesting encounter with a family that was collecting stray bits of trash near the more populated area of the park. Each kid had a trash bag while the parents kept track of them. Before anyone says they were being punished or cleaning up after themselves, I’m pretty positive that they weren’t. These kids actually appeared to have fun doing this and they didn’t have a campsite nearby. I handed them pieces I found as I walked by. They were extremely polite and didn’t complain about the work. I’m pretty sure they were on vacation or just having a day out and this was a regular activity for them 😊. They didn’t need an Internet challenge to do the right thing. We should all be like this family. #parentinggoals#savetheearth#recycle#dontlitter#exploring#natureistherapy#monahanssandhillsstatepark#sandsurfing#beetle#texas#texasdesert#ilovemyjob

After a tough moon day, students came back feeling lighter and fresher and in fact, everyone did better. I feel happier and more relaxed.
One new student came in with a lot of respect for Ashtanga sequence and knew the method but she was dealing with some physical issues for shoulderstand and said that props have helped her with that and if she could use them in Mysore. OF COURSE SHE CAN!
She said this was not allowed in other shalas. Well I told her that she is not in a shala or whatever that meant to her, she is in a safe environment of a cool yoga studio that allows her the platform to self explore and work with the body that she has today. That brightened her smile and made her day. She's happy, and everyone is happy. She took blankets and went on her shoulder stand.
It's nice that I can guide her in such a way that's therapeutic for her. Let's not overuse accolades or tradition to teach and guide others. How about some understanding, compassion and guess what, a little common sense is good too.
Yay..... Everyone completed their practice today with a big smile. Have a super weekend and see you for Full Led Primary on Sunday!
