You know ever since we're born, we're filled in with fears. Fear of scoring less marks, fear of dying, fear of getting hurt on the road, fear of electric shocks and fear of water.
I'm sure whenever we have visited a beach, a river or even a lake with our families, we've told to maintain our distance. We're asked to take hot showers in winters. We're taught not to get wet in rain. I'm not saying it's totally wrong, but words have a lot of power. We could have been taught all these things in a different way so that while being safe, we would have been comfortable with water instead of being afraid of it.
I can take cold showers in winters, I've made my body that way. But there are still so many water related 'things' I'm working on. (See how I didn't give it a name? That's the first step). One big step in that direction is to learn swimming. I'm gonna make myself more familiar with water and its behavior with my body and mind.
I've another water related story but it's long. I'll share when I feel like :) You can share yours with me. The time you overcame your fear, the time you got a fear you still carry, or anything. Anything you want to share. I'd love to read them :) #ImperfectMaster
