In the 60s Toyota was not well known outside Japan.
This changed, when James Bond switched from his DB5 to a new car in "You only live twice". (He actually drove a 2000GT convertible, made only for the movie)
this one: 1968
Despite good reviews and appreciation, the model was not a success. Production stopped 1970 after 351 cars built. One reason was the price, you could buy two Toyota Crown instead.
But I think, the 2000GT did his job and is an outstanding icon today.
This is one of 5 cars imported to Switzerland.
Happy Monday everyone!
