2 years ago, when I went to Bomod-Ok Falls at Sagada, I saw little children, ages 3-5 years old selling candies, softdrinks and other goods for the tourist going down to the falls and Fidelisan Rice Terraces. I said, “One day I’ll gonna go back here and somehow give simple gifts to these children. Something that will bring smiles to their faces and somehow forget the difficulties they were experiencing while they are young because of this.” Came this Christmas 2018, I was wondering who would be the next group of kids I will be bringing out smiles in their faces! (every Christmas, I have my Giving back to communities outreach etc that started last 2016 with an orphanage, then 2017 at Bato Elem School and now) I still don’t have the idea until Dec 15 came and had my 13th month pay again! As I was praying, God recalled me the children of Sagada! Then there was a “still small voice” who said to me, “Go back to Sagada and give gifts to 10 children you will be meeting there.” Well, I really love Sagada and set to a long journey! MISSION: Christmas at Sagada.
I’m still clueless who would be the recipients! I really have no idea. Until I came to Dolmasin Homestay and got a chance to chat with Ms. Melchora Dolmasin, the owner, and told her my mission. So she said, she’ll gonna help out. Came December 23, she invited me to go with her and prepare the gifts to the children. So I said, Ok! Then I ready the goodies like sweets, chocolates etc. I don’t have any idea that she’ll gonna bring me to a Christmas mass! I only have in mind that we’ll gonna go to a house with 10 children and that’s it! But I was wrong! She is a worker of an Anglican Church in the mountains of Northern Sagada and its fitting tonight that there would be a lot of katutubong Igorot who will be joining the Christmas Mass!
I was shaking when I entered the big church! Yes big that it’s attendance that night was around 150+ people. I didn’t know that Ms. Melchora had been coordinating it with Rev. Milagros Ordinario, the priestess of the church. And I was given a chance to give a Christmas message! YES! My Christmas for everyone! WHOOO! I’m not prepared!
I got flooded with messages from you guys after yesterday's post in which I mentioned not having family or a partner to spend the holidays with - sweet messages of love and support, but also some uncalled for ones that were judgmental or even offensive.
My intention was not for anyone to take pity on me, but to be aware that some of us spend the holidays in a different way and that it can be a painful reminder of what we've lost.
In contrast to this, I am having a wonderful Christmas this year, celebrating with my friends who are like family to me.
But I could just as well have decided to spend these days alone, at home with the cat, as I choose to spend most of my days really. This does not mean I am unhappy or lonely. It means that this is my life right now and I am not deperately looking to fill in the blanks with whatever form of distraction I can find. Instead, I am turning inwards, learning, working, experimenting and readying myself, so that I can manifest my current dreams and open new doors. "The time it takes for a dream to manifest is the time it takes for you to start believing in it." 🎄
I wish I could be back at my folk's place rn, since i cant, just going to play some blues and drink whiskey in honor of our dark Lord and Savior. I bet Jesus shreds like a mf. I hope you all get to enjoy time with your families, never take it for granted ❤❤ #praisesanta#hailjesus#merryapocalypse
