This is Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts' (NAFA's) Campus 1, at the corner of Middle Road and Bencoolen Street, that houses the School of Art & Design. It comprises 2 wings (opened in 2004) and 1 tower block (opened in 2018).
There are a total of 3 campuses, all a stone’s throw from each other.
As a pioneer art institution here in Singapore, NAFA has an extremely rich history that spanned several campus locations.
I made this photograph just as the morning downpour stopped and the sun had broken through, giving me dramatic light on both the original campus and the newly-opened tower block further back on the right.
What do I love the most about spring? Taking a walk with my puppy at 7:30pm and having it still be light out, full of magic and wonder and a rainbow peeking out after the rain. Oregon is know for our rainfall and our rainbows, and that’s something that always inspires me - after the rain comes a rainbow. If it weren’t for my little puppy I don’t know that I would be spending as much time outside as I do now, walking, breathing in the crisp, slightly damp air that makes me feel like I’m in Ireland. So thanks, little one, for getting me out there and allowing me to see all of this beauty. Happy National Puppies’ Day! 🐶
