I've done a lot of thinking over the past few days: about school, the gym, and what really matters and how I've let the things in my life define who I am
I've watched myself become increasingly competitive towards everyone around me and allowing what people think about me define my value and it has honestly been detrimental towards where I find myself today
For the past three years I've emphasized that fitness is personal and everything is you versus you, are you the best version of yourself, are you better than you were a day/week/year ago? I'm really sad to say, I haven't applied this to myself
So today will be day one
Me versus me, doing everything to the best of my ability, setting realistic and attainable goals, and being patient with myself if I come up short. Taking everything one step at a time, day by day, and constantly reminding myself that growth takes time, and accepting that whatever the time is, whether long or short, that it is okay.
I want to see my value the way God sees my value and not try to prove my worth to anyone else
So I guess I am starting my week on a fresh note and planting some happy, healthy seeds💗🌷

3 c of diced pineapple
1 bundle of celery
5 kale leaves
2.5 lemons #_afreshpurefood
Spicy Thai basil tofu (Pad Krapow tofu) by @woon.heng 💚
~ 1 package of firm tofu, drained and mashed
~ 1/2 cup packed Thai basil leaves
~ 7-8 Thai chilies, chopped
~ 5 cloves garlic, minced
~ 3-4 shallots, minced
~ 3 tablespoons coconut amino
~ 1 tablespoon soy sauce
~ 3 tablespoons vegan 'fish' sauce*
~ 3 teaspoons coconut sugar
~ 1 teaspoon salt
~ 1 tablespoon avocado oil
Whisk coconut amino, soy sauce, 'fish' sauce, sugar and salt in a bowl until well combined, set aside.
In a nonstick pan with low-medium heat (no oil), pan-fry mashed tofu until golden brown to get the chewy texture.
Using the same pan, push tofu aside, add 3 teaspoons oil and sauté garlic and shallots until soft. Add half the sauce, mix with tofu and let simmer for 2 minutes. Then, add chilies and remaining sauce and let the sauce thicken (when sugar caramelized). Finally, stir in basil and serve warm with your favorite grain.
* Closest sub that I can think of for fish sauce: 1 tablespoon vegan sugar, juice of 1 lime, 1 tablespoon soy sauce, 1 tablespoon water, and chopped Thai chilies. #bestofvegan
👩🏻🍳Spicy Vietnamese Lemongrass Chicken: this dish is sweet, spicy, savory, and addicting! You’ll have to stop yourself from picking at the chicken before it’s even served with your favorite Keto rice 😆find the recipe in our highlights!
Mozzarella stuffed Bison Meatballs. 🤤 hands down, without a doubt, the tastiest meal prep I've ever done. Check out my highlight for a "how-to." The measurements for ingredients? God knows I just guessed. 🤷🏼♀️ but if you want me to shoot from the hip, here we go...
🔹️2lbs ground bison 🔹️5 chopped garlic cloves 🔹️1/2 cup grated parmesan 🔹️1 chopped shallot 🔹️lots of pepper 🔹️some paprika 🔹️1 tablespoon lightly dried parsley & basil 🔹️1 egg 🔹️1/2 cup almond flour 🔹️4 mozz sticks chopped (used approx 2 pieces each meatball)
Mix the above well! Make yourself a patty of Bison meat about the size of your palm. Add the pieces of mozzarella and make into a ball covering the cheese. Bake at 400° for 15 minutes. .
Bison meat is an incredible alternative to ground beef with a TON of flavor, way less fat and packed with vitamins! This recipe will definitely be on my repeat list. Must try!!!!

Nugget LOVES his life as a crossfit coach and motivational speaker 🤣
James Dyson (of vacuum cleaner fame) built 5,127 prototypes before he created the winning model... In other words, he experienced 5,126 failures before reaching his goal.
Imagine having the resilience to try and fail over five thousand times... When asked about the secret to his grit, he said: “Just when you’ve had enough, and you think you’re never going to get the answer, that’s the point where you must try even harder. Because that’s the point where everybody else gave up. So you must go through that pain barrier in order to succeed." Success is not about being smarter, faster, stronger - it’s about trying and failing over and over, until you don’t fail anymore. As long as you’re learning from your failures and continuing to move forward, you’re growing and getting closer and closer to getting it right.
So in case you needed a reminder to keep on keeping on... This is it. 💪 You’ve got this - don’t let little setbacks stop you from achieving your fullest potential! 💫

🌿My dad always says this when life gets challenging. It can come off as abrasive; I choose to see it as a reminder to always make an effort to grow.
🌿As a child it seemed like tough meant uncaring. “Bad boys” and “bikers” that drank, smoked, bullied others, never cried or helped those in need, and didn’t care who they hurt.
🌿I understood the idea of heroes; that they were “good” and “strong” but never categorized as tough.
🌿Anyone who cried could never be tough. Showing certain emotions, even joy would eliminate you from the title.
🌿As I’ve started to heal myself from illness and trauma (and helping others to do the same) my definition of tough has transformed.
🌿Healing, even when you deeply love yourself, can be a beast of an experience.
🌿There can be crying, self doubt, even agony in healing; continuing to love yourself through all that is a very real kind of toughness, it is the epitome of strength.

The most incorrectly trained muscle group of them all. When it comes to most muscle groups, the training is pretty black and white. For biceps you curl, for lats you row, for chest you press, but when it comes to shoulders, how come you see so many people doing such a wide variety of these extravagant looking exercises?! I feel like every time I go in a gym, someone has made up a new “shoulder workout”. But the reality is, shoulders are very simple. Don’t believe all the crazy exercises you see on your explore feed that were posted simply to get views. I can’t give you an entire lesson on shoulder training in one post, BUT.. here’s the synopsis. 👇🏻 _________
The human shoulder has three “heads”. The front, the medial(side) and the rear. All heads must be targeted correctly for optimal shoulder development and to give us that round 3D look. As you can see above, I’m preforming a simple side raise using cables. This is targeting the medial head of my deltoid. Leading up to this, I had already done one rear delt exercise as well as a pressing movement for the front delt. When constructing a shoulder workout, starting off I would recommend incorporating two exercises for each head. I personally like to start and end with an exercise for the rear delt, because for most people that is a lagging area, and the more you can build that up, the more you will stand out and be known as the guy or gal with the phenomenal shoulders! 🙂
So there you have it, a simple rundown of how to get some big as delts. For questions and coaching inquiries please shoot me a DM or send me an email(click “email” in my bio) and I’ll be sure to answer and questions you may have! 50% off SUMMER SHRED sale is still going strong! Be sure to DM me to get in on it 😏
