Gliders and kettlebell! Late night workout. This is one of my favorite times to workout. Everyone is in bed and I can get down and focus. Plus it's a great way for me burn off some extra energy before bed! Who else likes late night workouts?
First show of the season today in Kalamazoo, MI to kick off the season. Seeing IG stories of @eclypse_tanning and athlete stage pictures only increased the hype for NPC Michigan State Championships and NPC JR Nationals. 💯

Got an awesome shoulder workout done this evening, shoulders are nice and swole. Still plenty of body fat to lose in the next 6 weeks, gotta really focus on not fucking up my diet between now and then💯 the cravings have been pretty intense lately😣

A friend shared with us recently that when she is stuck at red traffic lights - instead of waiting impatiently, she practices deep breathing. The type of breathes that are long and slow, and move your diaphragm. We think her idea is great for calming down your nervous system and relaxing your neck and back muscles! Here’s to more red traffic lights sitting in peace.⠀

Morning run ✅.. I had a little sleep in this morning so by the time I got out for my run it was HOT🥵. Starting my day exercising in the fresh air outside sets me up to be so much more productive for the day. I love the endorphins and the energy I have after exercising, even if it’s just something small. .
I have a pretty crappy roster coming up this week.. a 12 hour night shift tonight and then a night off, followed by three more 12 hour night shifts. Ya girls gunna be livin that nocturnal life 😂 love that for me tbh. In between all that I also have an assignment due for uni, an orthodontist appointment, and a 12 hour on call shift for my second job... what even is rest? 😂
I’ll be doing a heap of meal prep today and tomorrow to have a lot of my smoothies and snacks done. Now that Dirk is home it does make it slightly easier as he can cook dinners at night and put aside servings for our lunches. Anywhooo I need to stop procrastinating on Instagram and get this assignment done! As they say, “A Sunday well spent brings a week of content”, Happy Sunday. ❤️ .

Balance. It’s a word that has been thrown around a lot lately. It is very important but what is important to note is that balance might look different for everyone. Some say it doesn’t mean shoving a whole pizza down you throat every weekend (and maybe that’s excessive 😅) but personally coming from a background of eating disorders I’m here to tell you it’s OK if that’s your balance.
Don’t get me wrong if you have extreme goals that’s likely going to be an issue. But if your goal is to simply be healthier overall and one night you chow down half a tub of ice cream it is O. KAY. you’re not going to die.
For me, I like to indulge in cocktails here and there. Some people don’t like alcohol but I do. And so occasionally (not every weekend) I go out and I drink and have fun. Yes it’s empty calories. Yes it’s not “good” for me. But it’s good for my soul. It makes me happy on occasion and so on rare occasions I go out and don’t worry about the carbs 🤷🏻♀️
I’m not saying you should overindulge all I’m saying is YOU DO YOU. You choose your balance. You choose health over unhealthy choices MOST TIMES. But you will learn what is best for your mentality and your health and you’ll find a middle ground. And that ground looks different for everyone! It just depends on your goals!
You don’t have to beat yourself up for doing something or eating something that isn’t 100% on track. Embrace your “happy foods” just make sure you continue to mostly choose healthy foods!

🧀Cut 1 slice of cheddar in two and top chickens after they are well grilled
🥗Wash 2 iceberg lettuce leaves
🍅Chop 2 slices of tomatoes
🐔Place tomatoes inside of lettuce leaves then grilled chicken breasts
🍥Add 1 tsp of barbecue+1 tsp of dijon mustard
