  • Sometimes when times are tough you have to force yourself to look at all the good that might be sitting in front of you. I’ve been doing my best since January to think more positively and look at things more so from a position of growth. Is there something I can learn from a challenging time? 9/10 there is a chance that there is an opportunity to grow and change. And I try to embrace those challenges to push ahead. This isn’t a strategy that might work for everyone, but for those it might help, I do encourage you to try. I find my mood has been better, I’m less anxious and just generally a better person to be around. 😂 It’s very easy to get into your own head and be hypercritical. 🌸

Wishing you a warm bowl of oats. These are made with 1/3 cup rolled oats, 1 tbsp ground flax seed, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1 banana sliced, 1 cup almond milk and a pinch of salt as per usual. Hopefully by now you all know how to make some tasty oats. I’d make these more interesting and fancy, but it’s about time I pack up my spice cabinet. ✨

  • hi ~ you can eat a balanced diet without supporting the “diet culture is bs” approach that is out there which is ~so~ frustrating. yes - eat want you want but at the end of the day your health and your insides (e.g. heart health, skin health, tummy health) still need looking after and you can’t beat the science behind this 🧬 ⁣⁣

so when u are looking at this - Monday to Friday is a magnificent example of a very well balanced diet but tips at the weekend coz “calories don’t count on a weekend” or “I’m gunna eat 10 cookies coz even tho I wanna lose some fat it won’t hurt me” unfortunately, them calories still are going into your body which is really the only real accurate “food diary” 🤔⁣⁣

so if your trying to lean out, lose weight or whatever your goal is, what’s the point in smashing a week of good balance to binge and not consume a single vegetable on a weekend? balance in all aspects of ur life every time will make it a lot easier & quicker to get ur goals 🌚⁣⁣

I’m not promoting to eat salads all the time, but promoting wholesome, good, nutritious food which believe it or not our body *needs* to function - with a lil bit of all the other good stuff thrown in there too. happy thursday huns I am done 4 the weeekendddddd 🤩🤩🤩

  • Salmon Cobb Salad is a modern spin on the classic American Cobb salad. Great recipe by @natashaskitchen 😋 
It is definitely a feel-good, protein packed salad loaded with crisp lettuce, sweet corn, avocados, ripe cherry tomatoes and hard-boiled eggs. .
Ingredients
Ingredients for Pan Seared Salmon:
1 lb salmon boneless, skinless 
1 tsp sea salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Ingredients for Cobb Salad:
1 large head of romaine lettuce chopped, rinsed and spun dry
2 ears of corn cooked, shucked and cut off the cob
1/2 medium red onion thinly sliced
2 large hard-boiled eggs peeled and quartered
1 large avocado peeled, pitted and sliced
1 1/2 cups cherry tomatoes halved
.
Ingredients for Cilantro Lime Dressing:
3 Tbsp fresh lime juice from 1 to 2 limes
3 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil
2 Tbsp cilantro chopped
2 Tbsp dill chopped
1 large garlic clove pressed or finely minced
1 tsp sea salt
1/8 tsp black pepper

Instructions 
Season salmon generously with salt and pepper. Heat 1 Tbsp oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat. Once oil is hot add salmon, top-side down and cook until golden and crisp on the first side (4 minutes) then flip salmon and continue cooking another 4 minutes or until cooked through, depending on thickness of salmon. Transfer to a plate and cool to room temperature then flake salmon with forks into bite-sized pieces.

Arrange romaine lettuce on a large platter or large shallow bowl.

Arrange remaining salad ingredients in rows over the romaine lettuce; cooked corn kernels, sliced onion, quartered eggs, sliced avocado, and halved cherry tomatoes.

Combine dressing ingredients in a measuring cup and stir to combine. Drizzle evenly over the salad just before serving.

  • Need some meal prep ideas and motivation?

It is always exciting when you start something new but then in time an doing it over and over again might feel overwhelming and that excitement you think will never ever end wears off real quick! Don’t worry! I totally feel you!
.
Looking back to my old photos to get some inspiration and ideas and I see I have changed the way I prep. I used to prep all my meals from breakfast to dinner including snacks! Nowadays I love preparing buffet style preps because it gives me more options to change up my meals.
.
Just like my gym sessions, I often change my meals and the way I prepare food so I never get bored and keep being consistent in the long term! LIFE LONG!

Biraz fikir ve motivasyona mi ihtiyacınız var?

Yeni bir seylere baslarken her zaman çok heyecanlı oluruz ve bu heyecan hiç bir zaman bitmeyecek sanariz. Fakat hiç bitmeyeceğini düsündügümüz o heyecan biranda bitiverir ve kendimizi yeniden baslamadan evvelki noktada buluruz. Endiselenecek bir şey yok! Bu yalnızca size olmuyor!

Eski resimlerime hem fikir hem de motivasyon icin bakıyordum ve bu resmi bulunca suanda çok daha farklı bir sekilde yemek hazirligi yaptigimi gördüm. Önceden tüm ögünlerimi hazırlardım! Kahvaltıdan, aksam yemeğine hatta ara ögünlerime kadar! Fakat suanda büfe tarzı yemek hazirligindan çok daha fazla keyif alıyorum. Cünkü her ögün farklı kombinasyonlar yapabiliyorum.

Egzersiz rutinlerim gibi yemek rutinlerimi de zaman zaman özellikle sıkıldıgım zamanlar değiştirmek kolay kolay sıkılmamamı ve uzun soluklu devamlılıgı sağlıyor. HAYAT BOYU DEVAMLILIK!

-Deadlines are quickly approaching so this breakfast is quick and easy!! I use Coconut Milk as it gives it extra flavour, plus it transforms this breakfast into a vegan one 🐄 ⁣(Minus the honey for a vegan breakfast as well‼️)⁣

feel like autumn is come. Season of appetite_ 식욕의 계절. 
뾰토롱이 나있는 굵은 감자하나 이번에는 어떻게 예뻐해줄까.. 단단하고 고집불통감자를 여리여리 하늘하늘하게 슬라이스해두고 결을 살린 버섯을 버터샤워를 해준다. 이 두아이를 기분좋게 포근하게 감싸줄 베샤멜 소스를 크리미하게 취할정도로 만들어 함께 놀 준비를 해준다. 두툼하고 듬직한 오븐군 볼안에 여리한 감자슬라이스 위 버터리한 버섯 그위를 부드럽게 베샤멜 소스로 살살 꺄르르하게 터치를 해주면서 한결두결세결 겹겹이 흩트러지지않게 쌓아준다. 식감을 돋구어줄 치즈를 눈쌓이듯 뽀얗게 덮이게 뿌려주면 제대로 어울릴 준비완료~. 180도로 가열된 오븐 찜질방 안으로 들어가 아웅다웅 한시간은 족히 즐기다 나오면 거칠어보이는듯 하지만 한입 베어 물으면 촉촉한 감자의 식감을 즐길수 있다. Good texture~ love it!

Rose petals are sweet and delicate and can be crystallised with sugar, used to decorate cakes, garnish desserts, added to salads. 
This photo is of beautiful Egyptian organic Rose petals. I like to make up my own herbal teas .. Rose & Camomile Tea

Due to logistics, availability and monetary restraints it's not always viable. That's where the clean 15 and dirty dozen comes into play.

Each year the EWG Environmental Working Group release a list of fruits and vegetables that contain the most (dirty dozen, preferably buy organic) and least (clean fifteen) chemical pesticides.

  • Berry Delight Smoothie Bowl

1/2 c Mixed berries 
3/4 c Frozen Banana 
1 /2 c Almond Milk (can be varied depending on your personal consistency preference)

Place in blender until smooth, place in bowl and top with your favourite toppings.

My smoothie in the photo is topped with unsweetened berry juice, coconut, cacao nibs and bee pollen. 
Other topping ideas .. spices such as cinnamon, bliss balls, dried apple rings, berries, coconut yogurt, vegan homemade caramel sauce, sliced bananas, goji berries, chia seeds, cacao nibs, juice, bee pollen, nut butter ... let your imagination run free.

Remember to eat fruit on an empty stomach (as your body digests quickly compared to other food groups, if you eat after a meal it can start to ferment, aka bring on bloating and the like) and to not mix with other food groups, the exception being bananas due to their starch content.   • Why plantbased diet? There are many reasons why one may switch to an all plantbased diet. Or maybe it's a matter of not eating 100% plantbased but rather consciously wanting to incorporate more fruits and vegetables in one's diet. I would like to share the reasons why I switched to a wholefoods plantbased diet back in 2010. Primarily it was a way to tackle and better manage my Fibromyalgia symptoms and in turn has reinforced my love of animals that I've had since childhood. 
The benefits of a wholefoods plantbased diet: ○ reduce inflammation ○ increase and or stabilize energy levels ○ naturally detoxifying ○ healthy gut
○ better digestion, less bloating, regular bowel movement ○ help to prevent and or the early onset of non-communiable diseases such as cancer, heart disease ○ better cardiovascular health
○ anti aging ○ helps with brain fog
○ help to relieve or eliminate allergies ○ helps to manage or put autoimmune dieases into remission such as Fibromyalgia, Graves Disease, Autoimmune Underactive Thyroid, Psoriasis, POTS

Along with diet, I am conscious and continuely working on stress management, sleep, low impact exercise along with being conscious of minimizing exposures from chemicals and toxins, by using natural household, beauty and hygiene products. If any of these factors become out of balance, my fibromyalgia can flare, it's a continual work in progress. It's about progress not perfection.

  • A delicious quick strawberry recipe for when times not on your side

Strawberries and Cream
○ Dice strawberries into a glass, add coconut yoghurt and a drizzle of maple syrup with dark chocolate shavings, delish!

When you've got time ... Strawberry and Balsamic Semifreddo

Ingredients:
1 tsp Maple Syrup 
85ml water
450g ripe Strawberries 
2 tbsp balsamic vinegar 
Method

1. Pour the maple syrup and water into a saucepan and bring to the boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce the heat, add strawberries and simmer for 2 minutes. Remove from heat left to cool. 
2. Place mixture made from step 1along with Balsamic Vinegar into a food processor for approximately 30 seconds (until a chunky mixture is formed)

3. Pour the mixture into a freezer proof container and free for approximately 1 1/2 -2 hours or until semi-frozen. Stir at least once during freezing.

4. Scoop spoonfuls of the semifreddo into glasses and decorate with free strawberries, shaven dark non dairy chocolate and edible flowers.

Bon Appétit. 🍓 Otherwise they are little bursts of yumminess on their own x

Tofu Salad Cups
Ingredients:

○ 1 Organic Block of Tofu
○ 1 Tablespoon Coconut oil

Sauce Ingredients:
○ 1/ 4 cup of Cashews
○ 1 teaspoon Coconut Sugar
○ 2 Tablespoons Lemon juice
○ Salt and Pepper ○ Parsley
○ Lettuce leaves

Method:
1. Add coconut oil to pan, bring up the heat add onions until caramelized. Put onions to the side.
2. Add coconut oil to pan after onions have been removed and add tofu (cut into small cube sizes). Once tofu is cooked add onion and Cashew sauce, mix in together.

Cashew Sauce
Add pre-soaked cashews, coconut sugar, lemon juce, salt, pepper into blender until smooth, add water slowly until desired consistency, slightly runny.

3. Place Tofu mixture into lettuce cups add parsley to garnish.

While you're eating these delicious Tofu Lettuce Cups reflect on how your body is feeling nourished.  Tofu is an excellent source of dietary protein along with iron and Calcium. Lettuce is high in water content, hence hydrating and contains nutrients such as vitamin c and potassium. 
P.S. I made this recipe a few months ago and I personally choose to have tofu only in moderation. Some studies show if over consumed it may interfere with thyroid function and can act as a phytoestrogen.  If you're concerned about getting enough protein in your diet remember all plant foods have protein. Foods that have a higher comprehensive amino acid profile (aka the components that make up complete protein) are Lentils, beans (e.g. Chickpeas), Broccoli, nuts and seeds.

It's more than just a cup of tea, Chamomile tea helps for easing stress, aids digestion,  a good night sleep, headaches, muscle cramps, upset stomach and so much more.

Beauty Tip: Cold Chamomile tea bags can be placed on eyelids to relieve tiredness and under eye puffiness.
