  • #donereading well #donelistening. Just finished @jensincero’s You Are A Badass@on @audible_com. THIS book at THIS moment in my life was definitely what I needed. I am highly aware that I am connected to what she calls “source energy”, but I surely have not been acting like it. There wasn’t anything “ground breaking” in the book, but it was a great reminder for the things that I need to do and how I am going to achieve a life beyond my wildest dreams! It’s definitely time and sometimes we need a reminder. This was the perfect reminder.

  • This one was just okay. I liked it but I didn’t love it. So...I have a few complaints. I’ve realized I’m not a fan of the trope of an unreliable narrator when the main character is mixing medication and alcohol. It bugs me.
Also, I never guess twists but I figured out the first twist (I thought it was very obvious) and then read for a whooping 300 more pages until it was revealed.
Some of this book was thrilling but some parts were boring and repetitive. I did love the Hitchcock and other classic movie references! Overall, not my favorite but that’s okay. 🐾 Benny’s review: this book is really good. It’s about a lady who watches people out her window. She probably also watches squirrels and birds and garbage trucks.
I just watched @gettinghyggewithlit newest booktube video on @ajfinnbooks and I really appreciate her thoughts. I feel pretty similarly.

When you finally close the cover, the characters have told their story and you start up again with another book, complete with new characters and adventures. Then you find yourself focusing on the new ones, not the ones from the past.”

  • Jamie sat next to me for most of the time that it took me to read Ron Nash’s Serena. Let me tell you, the slow build was absolutely worth the gut-punch ending. I definitely recommend reading this book if you haven’t already. I’m looking forward to watching the movie adaptation this weekend! #kittiesnbooks #catsoninstagram #donereading

  • BEST FRIENDS FOREVER - ORIZUKA.

Lumayan menghibur.

Jadi, mana cerita favorit dari ketiga novelnya? Bagi saya, semuanya berurut sesuai urutan terbitnya. Paling sukak tetep High School Paradise. Kedua, Love United. Ketiga, ya yang satu ini.

Jadi kepengen buka yg lama-lama lagi buat nyangkut pautin lagi kisahnya. Hahaa

  • GADIS KRETEK - RATIH KUMALA.

  • The Vesuvius Club by Mark Gatiss: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Just finished this book! It is not really long around 300 pages so pretty easy to read.
I gave him a 3 stars. The writing is good, the suspense is more than well managed and at the end we can have the question to all of the previous or current questions that we might have during the whole book. Then why not a 5 stars? Simply because it is a little bit “cliche” mostly on the main character and this is not one of those books that I will re read again and again 😊 I do have the second one waiting but for now... I think I will go with Laini Taylor’s “Strange the Dreamer” and finish “The Chronicles of St Mary” by Jodi Taylor #markgatiss #book #bookstagram #bookshelves #books #readingtime📖 #donereading #thevesuviusclub #luciferbox #gingergirl #gingerbookworm

  • Reading a book while in the transit going to the office to kill boredom and to lessen whining because of the traffic.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
#donereading The Seventh Most Important Thing by Shelley Pearsall
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I bought this book not expecting anything from it. I thought this is a cheap price for a hardbound book...
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The Seventh Most Important Thing by Shelley Pearsall is about grief, friendship, and mainly about redemption. It motivates its reader to look beyond what is seen by the eyes. It aims its reader to take a back step and re-examine their lives and values.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This book sometimes sounds preachy but nonetheless a good middle grade read. And what is more exciting is this books is based on a true story of an American Folk Artist, James Hampton (but I suggest if you are going to read this, don't look up for his name because it will spoil you of the ending).

  • “If you can’t trust your mind, trust your heart.” I like how the protagonist shows strength in the entire story even though his situation is getting worst. That sometimes he couldn’t trust himself, doubting if everything he see and hear are just one of his hallucinations or the real ones. A dreadful feeling that he always have when people will knew about his condition and then, they start to begrudge him, leave him and wish to just kill himself for the betterment of others. But, he realized that his illness (schizophrenia) was not the reason to build a wall and live alone forever rather finding people who will love and accept him for who he is and what he have; His mom, stepdad, Dwight and of course Maya. This is an inspiring novel that tell us, whoever we are and what we have, there are still someone who will there for you no matter what. #donereading #wordsonthebathroomwalls #juliawalton
P.S:
The author is huge fan of Harry Potter book series were some of her examples was based on. And Maya is a filipino. ❤️

  • #MEMOIRMARCH BOOK 1: 🍓
Why are we shy to speak or call the vagina its name? As if it's an embarrassment. Bakit nga ba? Bastos nga ba talaga or is it just us?
🍓
THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES by Eve Ensler is a collection of stories & poems from different women, from different cultures; different scars from pain, hate & violence. Some are young, some are old; some are re-assigned but all of them are women. 🍓
There are parts (mostly) are painful to read and it’s painful because they are real stories & real feelings. They are CRUEL & HURTFUL & AWFUL. Horrific, if I may say.
🍓
This book is bitterly beautiful. It’s more than a book. It’s a political statement. Every woman must read it. No. Erase that. EVERY PERSON MUST READ IT.

  • #donereading Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I seldom entertain myself with a classic book. There are only a few that really interest me or struck my heart. And one of those is Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A refreshing read and an interesting one. I can also find myself in most of the characters, especially with Beth's and Jo's.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I never cried this hard in a book. The situations are very real that it hurts. This is a story about a simple family in America, the March's and how they long for richness and find it in its simplest form, love. This is also a story about dreams and how one's dream can be attained by not reaching for it but by being contented on the life this world gives. And this is a story about Beth, oh dear Beth (I must not say anything to spoil the story).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The March family will live in my heart forever.

  • 🇬🇧 For Nr. 9/100  I chose to re-read „Strong Silent Type“ by @loreleijamesauthor, a novella set in the series of the Rough Riders. What can I say, there is a reason I re-read her books all the time. It’s probably the Cowboys. Just look at the cover. I cant wait until „I Want You Back“ is released.

10/100 „Snow one like You“ by Kate Angell was a short christmas themed novella that I didn’t know existed until a few weeks back, but had to read since I like to get ALL the books of my favourite authors. Nice little story for inbetween about 2 friends who find themselves drawn to each other at Christmas. Warum?

  • “Courage is not always big and bright and loud; sometimes it’s as silent and small as true words, a smile when you’d rather weep, or getting up every day and living with quiet dignity while all around your life rages. You cannot truly love, live, or exist without courage. Without it you are simply bidding time until you die.”
