  • Every morning has been like this recently. Calm seas, pretty sunrises, and fun waves. So many people clearly getting to work late (including me 😜). Don’t you just love mornings like this ✨ 🏄‍♀️ .

  • We’ve become pretty obsessed with the garden here. Every visit to the garden has us returning with literally bucket loads of goods. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We heard from previous caretakers @mastersofmaatsuyker when we were provisioning that there was plenty of fresh produce, but we could never have guessed it to be this bountiful! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Even though winter may be difficult, we’ve started our first seedlings and have them sitting in the laundry (the warmest part of the house!) on heat mats in their little mini green houses nursing them to grow, grow, grow! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
.
.
Here’s hoping we have some success! 🤞 recipe ideas anyone for our new batch of goodies? I’m thinking carrot top pesto, laksa and more. If you can’t tell we’ve become pretty food obsessed so share your recipes, or any tips for growing in winter 🌱💚👍 #growyourown #fromlittlethingsourdinnergrows

  • JOURNAL OF THE PAST : Sailing the Whitsunday Islands in Australia 🇦🇺
.
.
A few years ago, we sailed through the beautiful Whitsunday Islands on a magnificent and beautifully maintained tall ship called Solway Lass (built in Holland in 1902). The Whitsundays is blessed with having 74 islands, 66 of which are in their natural state, with no buildings or resorts. This makes sailing around the Whitsundays like a voyage of discovery, as some of the islands still look like they did when Captain Cook’s tall ship (The Endeavour) sailed by in the 1770’s.
.
I captured this when we hiked up Whitsunday Islands National Park, looking down at the beautiful Whitehaven Beach, famous for its pure white sand and crystal clear waters. Whenever I look at this photo, I remember that wonderful time we spent on the majestic tall ship, gazing at some pretty breathtaking views and sunsets. Australia – truly a land of many wonders…💜💜

  • Can you spot us? Somewhere between the layers of colour.⠀
⠀
🌻⠀
⠀
From up here it’s hard to see the art. But, each of those rocks have been painted by hand. ⠀
⠀
🤩⠀
⠀
I love it when people have a designated space to express themselves. ⠀

Check out our story to see the colourful rock walk below! ⠀

⠀
Eco Thought Of The day: people have been painting on rocks for some 20,000 years. ⠀
⠀
Their natural paint has lasted all of these years to tell stories of our past. ⠀
⠀
Have you ever painted or created some art in nature? ⠀
