IBS: easy example, we’re all familiar w/ it. You either can’t go at all, or you can’t stop going💩. Bloating, pain, gas, & overall discomfort. There’s no rhyme or reason to the irregularity. There’s no happy medium to your BM’s...the only thing normal is that they’re always abnormal!
My IBS began after having my gallbladder removed in 2009. I figured they were linked, you hear of this often. For almost 10 years I was always carrying Imodium (anti-diarrhea med) on me bc I never felt “safe” leaving the house. And more recently needing regular colonics due to weeks w/out a BM😑.

It has a primarily “rest and digest” or parasympathetic function. Most of the signals it sends goes from the lower organs UP TO THE BRAIN! Signals do go from the brain down...but not as much. ⬆️

••3 REASONS WHY YOU PROBS NEED A DIET BREAK•• It’s almost April, and a majority of people have been dieting/trying to cut fat/in a caloric deficit for almost 12 weeks. I know because about 2/3 of my clients are about to enter week 12!! Let me tell you something. Your body and your mind need a break.
1️⃣your stress hormones are increased because of the calorie deficit you’ve been in. Especially if it’s drastic. When cortisol (stress hormone) is increased, your body holds onto fat- particularly in your abdomen region. Hiiiiii, bloaty mc bloaterson🤰🏻
2️⃣you’re losing sleep. While you’re stressed, you don’t sleep as well. Sleep is like number 3 in the weight loss list of importance.
3️⃣you can’t be satiated. You’re in a bad mental space. You cannot seem to quell your hunger. You’re going INSANE🐲🐲homeslice, you need a break.
So what does a break look like? 3-14 days at your maintenance calories. Go to tdeecalculator.net and calculate your maintenance calories (NOT BMR). And eat those calories for 3-14 days. I like 7, but everyone is different. As for macros- hit 1g protein per pound and then fill in the rest with carbs and fats if you’re not trying to be too strict. Want specific macro ratios? DM me.
I took a break this week and it has been EXACTLY what I needed to KEEP on keeping on in my journey. Did I take a step back? Maybe a baby one. Was it worth it? Yes.

Crema de lentejas rojas.
Las lentejas rojas o coral no tienen piel, lo cual las hace mucho más digestivas que otras legumbres. Se cocinan rápidamente y hacen un caldo muy cremoso con casi las mismas propiedades que las marrones. Destacan por su contenido en hierro, fibra, selenio, zinc, hidratos de carbono, proteínas y vitamina B1. Además, son una excelente fuente de fósforo, manganeso y ácido fólico.
Su consumo es muy recomendable para prevenir la anemia durante el período de gestación, como ayuda para aliviar el estreñimiento, y contribuir al adecuado funcionamiento de los nervios y el cerebro, e incluso para la prevención de determinados tipos de cáncer.
Ingredientes para 2 personas:
200 g de lentejas rojas
100 gr de zanahorias
500 ml de agua mineral o caldo de verduras
2 cebollas tiernas
1 diente de ajo
1 trocito de Jengibre en polvo
Una pizca de pimentón
1 cucharadita de comino
1 cucharada de aceite de oliva virgen extra
Sal y pimienta negra molida
1 cucharadita de cúrcuma,
500 ml de agua mineral o caldo de verduras.
Pica las cebollas y los dientes de ajo y ponlo en una cacerola a pochar con una pizca de jengibre. Luego añade las zanahorias a trocitos y finalmente los calabacines.
Sazona con todas las especias y mezcla bien, cocinando a fuego medio.
Lava bien las lentejas y escúrrelas. Añádelas a la cacerola, removiendo bien, y cubre todo con el caldo o el agua. Déjalo hervir a fuego bajo unos 25 minutos o hasta que veas que se hace un puré espeso.
Una vez hervido, triturar con una batidora hasta conseguir la textura deseada, añadiendo más o menos caldo según se necesite.
Sírvela en un bol, espolvorea un poco de pimentón, o unas semillas de calabaza y añade unos picatostes. Puedes también añadir unas láminas de queso vegano. Y si comes queso, añade una cucharada de ricota o unas láminas de parmesano.

On utilise couramment cette expression, mais au fait, ça vient d’où ? Expression anglaise qui littéralement signifie « sac a toutou ». Excuse invoquée initialement pour ramener les restes de son repas pour le chien ! Malins les gourmands !
Interdite dans certains pays, cette pratique est très courante aux Etats-Unis par exemple. Les premiers doggy bags apparaissent dans les années 60. Aujourd’hui cela devient de plus en plus courant, et c’est une très bonne chose !
Vous avez honte de demander au restaurateur d'emporter ce que vous n'arrivez pas à terminer dans vos assiettes?
Et pourtant en plus d'éviter de jeter de la nourriture, ça fera plaisir au chef de savoir que vous avez envie de finir la dégustation! Et cela peut vous éviter de cuisiner pour un repas!
