Remember! The more weight you lose the less you expend as your metabolism declines so you have to adjust your deficit or activity level accordingly to prevent stalls/ plateaus.

I’m always trying to think positively and on the bright side, is was a period of my life when I complained about the smallest little things which made me very unhappy. Instead of get stuck in a negative circle, I broke the pattern and became much happier to only focus of the good part and everything I’m so grateful of in life. #HappyMindHappyLife

🔥FOODS TO AVOID BEFORE SLEEP 🔥⠀

Sleep is super important for your overall health but also for how you feel, if you don't sleep well you can't function at your best. 🛏️⠀

What you eat can have a big impact on your sleep, we all know not to drink coffee just before you're of to bed! ☕️⠀

Alcohol can really mess with your sleep, you can't fully get into a deep sleep so it is best to avoid this for good sleep! 🍷⠀

Spicy foods have also been shown to make your sleep worse, this might be because of the fact that it raises your body temperature. 🌡️⠀

Junk food is next to that a no go because it can activate your brain waves so getting a good night of sleep can become a lot harder. 🍕⠀

  • Just taking a moment to reflect on officially participating in my first CrossFit Open. But what will stick with me way more than my write up below of my stuff is getting to be closer with the other athletes at my Box. It filled my heart so much following their journeys and cheering them on while they did amazing things and pushed themselves. And NERDED OUT like the video taken of one of our Friday Night Lights. That is priceless to me, and my favorite part of the Open. Thank you Hardware, Im so proud to call you my CrossFit Home ♥️💪
1) 19.1: Wall Balls and Rowing. Right out the gate, two of my weaknesses that I’ve been working on improving, and I was so proud of how far I’d come and the focus on form and efficiency I’ve developed. RXed.
2) 19.2 Toes to bar, Double Unders, and Squat Cleans. First two moves are my JAM, squat cleans, those were heavy for me! And iiiiii loved it. RXed.
3) 19.3 Man weighted lunges and step ups and HANDSTAND push ups?! I had never tried one, shrugged my shoulders, got one and was like HEY NOW. Did a total of 16 before the time cap and was on cloud 9. Scaled.
4) 19.4 Snatches?? Oh hey now. (Burpees my jam) and pull ups?! First time doing pull ups in a WOD and was thrilled with this discovery too. Scaled.
5) 19.5 Ooh baby heavy (for me) thrusters and CHEST to bar pull ups. Now, I was torn between doing this scaled or RXed. But I went for it RXed and I’m so glad I did, and got 33 CTB pull ups. Another huge discovery and win.

This may not mean much to anyone but it means SO MUCH to me! It has now been about 4 weeks of working with @chelsea_crest and I’ve closed my ab separation nearly in half! Kinda hard to see but the indent above my belly button is getting smaller, my posture is getting better so my back is hurting less, and I can finally feel my abs working 😬 This has been tough....slow progress is hard to stick with but I know my body needs this and I’ll feel so much better in the end ☺️ •

But really Chelsea has not only been taking time out of her crazy busy week to meet with me and give me exercises, she also checks in to see how I’m doing, helps me modify workouts so I can still do what I love, and constantly reassures me that there is light at the end of the tunnel!⭐️ She is also super fit, strong, caring, and a successful business woman who understands what I do and wants to help me continue growing in my sport rather than just saying “just rest it’ll heal on its own” or “do some abs it’ll be fine” like a regular doctor would say🙄

Mommas, if you’re pregnant/postpartum, don’t end up like me!!! Everything can be modified and your body will thank you for it in the end. It's because I work out alone most of the time and the only way to check my form and progress is by recording my workouts. Thanks for coming along for the ride!

5 months of work in this side by side, backsquat @ 315x1,check the improved depth and ability to maintain a neutral spine throughout the lift.

Went up to 345 x 1 for a new PR, it was ugly, check back in a couple weeks for that side by side.
