If you’re staying in Split, make sure to take a day trip to Brela to experience Punta Rata beach, that’s famous for its natural rock formation in the ocean!
My friends and I discovered this beach because at the time five years ago, it had just made a “Best Beaches in World” list by Forbes. So of course, we had to go! And while it was certainly hard to find (we took a bus from Split and had to guess as to where to hop off as the road is unmarked, then we had to do some serious hiking and walking to get down the mountain to the beach) it was worth every second!
It is certainly tucked away, but breathtaking, with a perfect instagrammable moment with the natural rock formation with living trees on top that sits out from the beach. And there’s actually a whole area of beaches to explore as Brela is technically almost 4 miles long, separated by small neighborhoods, areas with cafes and the natural rocky landscape.
You’ll also find paddle boats to take out, mini fives to explore or water scooters. Just note, this strip of beach area is particularly pebble-y so sandals are a must!
TBT Dreaming of beaches and vacations over here. We loved our trip to Croatia, especially Dubrovnik. The food was amazing, the City beautiful and if you are a Game of Thrones fan like we are it was a bonus to see Kings Landing!!!
