So I tried to film myself making this art journal spread but somehow only recorded the first 3 minutes 😑 so instead here is the finished result! It felt good to sit down and make something from start to finish in about 20 minutes. I'm usually bouncing around between projects, but filming myself makes me stick with it. Even if it's imaginary filming apparently 🙃

I have to stay motivated. I have a vision. This will all make sense soon.

I’ve been making small changes to this piece for a while now and I think it’s safe to say I finally finished it.... maybe 🤣
What do you guys think?
Should I put the brush down now 😝
Im so honoured to be invited to contribute to @helmighs’s artbook Caldyra as a guest artist! I decided to draw Kaliyana and challenged myself to encapsulate the feel of the seductive temptress she is. Also going back to Realistic rendering. Hope you guys check out the book! #caldyra
Did you get any Notes from the Nest in your snail mail box recently? 🐌💌📬 If so send pics! I love seeing where my artwork ends up! 😍🗺 Thanks to Bella, Annie, @alliwildchild + @hannahquinteroart for sending me these awesome photos of your art cards! 🌈❤️ Make sure to tag me if you post yours ‘cause I’d love to share! 👉 If you’d like to get surprise postcards from my studio pop me a DM and I’ll get you set up with my Notes from the Nest. I just love snail mail so I send out mini art print cards sporadically to fellow art lovers ☺️💜🖼
I’ve had an alternative studio schedule recently given our move. Instead of my usual Saturday painting time it’s been evenings with a glass of my favorite Zinfandel. I’ve been pressing into this evening studio time to focus on my Spring line drawing collection. These minimalist black and white works are not constrained by needing natural light or large several hour blocks of time as I would need for my paintings.
While I have enjoyed learning what I can do within the bounds of my recent schedule constraints, I can’t wait to set up shop in my new studio, get back into a routine and play with these scrumptious pigments. A new studio tour will be in order soon.
I showed this piece in progress to my mom who exclaimed, "You know what? This looks like my mother!" Her name was Emogene, and though I never had the chance to meet my grandmother, I'm touched that, by happenstance, she has popped into our memories as a face on a canvas of pastel clouds.
Exciting news - I'm finally selling prints of my art!! (You can order straight from my shop site - link in bio 🙂 ) I've ordered several test prints and these look excellent! They're all gallery quality ink on cotton rag archival paper. If you or someone you know has wanted some of my art but can't afford an original, this is a great alternative! I will also be selling some in person at my show in Fort Collins on the 29th, more details to come.
The universe is saying; allow me to flow through you unrestricted and you will see the greatest magic you have ever seen 🌈🌈 Feeling this so so much right now, can’t wait to share some exciting news 🌞🤗💗
