  • I had to go back to my beloved shrimp tonight lol. I made this creamy soup with my #lowcarb #keto noodles from @allnewdles and it was delish!!! I’m trying so hard to go back to low carb/no carb but it’s sooo hard!! These noodles make it a little easier and they’re so good 🙌🏾 #ad

  • @FSmaui,Thank you for the respite & replenishment.
Because, y’all we all go & go & go & go.
And, at some point, our bodies or families or mental health say, “ENOUGH. STOP. REST.” And, if we don’t listen to the initial whisper, that whisper becomes a scream that presents itself in other ways - such as anxiety, lack of sleep, skin flare-ups, family discord, or sickness.
I’ve been going SO much - only at home for 16 days these past months - that my body finally said enough.
On the tail of @modernism_week, I got a bug, took a Z-pack & was better in time to go to the #FSmauiclassic less than 24 hours later.
I went to Maui & relaxed. I “spa’d.” I sat by the pool &  took a nap. I ate indulgent food & drank bottles of wine I couldn’t afford a glass of before.
As we left, @Cassydy said to me, “I know you relaxed here, but you were also hosting us,so I hope you get to relax when you get home.”
“Nope. 12 hours after we get home, we’re off again for @BNPparibas.” That was our plan.
But our bodies don’t care about the plan.
When we got home the next morning, I woke up with a cold.
While my career mind felt I couldn’t miss @BNPparibas my body was screamed:“NO, DAWN.Be easy with yourself. Sleep in your own bed. Watch all 3 Poltergeist films.”
So, while I still worked all day in bed (because this is what I do), at 4 pm each day, Nick & I snuggled in & watched a Poltergeist film & ate veggies & dip & cookie dough & even sipped a little @LeGrandCourtage. 
And, I did my best not to feel guilty about it - reminding myself that if I didn’t take this time for myself, my body would revolt perhaps in a more violent way. And, with the itinerary that spring has in store for me - with @pbfw @coachella @pdfoodwine @fwep & @stagecoach, I have NO time for that. 
So, thank you, @fsmaui for letting me relax while in your care & thank you for reminding me that even when I’m not in Maui, I can relax at home...even without that fabulous black diamond facial or inifinity pool.
And, you reading this? Nurture yourself today. 
Practice what I am so good about preaching but have not been so good at practicing lately. I feel that Maui helped me with that.💗

I was craving some Arroz Con Pollo from my favorite Columbian restaurant but decided to stay home and make my own little rice dish instead. It was so good and soo flavorful. The rice was the perfect mixture of moist, yet grainy just like I like it and the chicken was super tender and savory.

  • Making Che Chuôi aka Vietnamese tapioca banana coconut dessert. This is one of my favorite desserts. 🤔 hmmm I feel like I say that with every Asian dessert I make 😆. You guys this flavor combo is so scrumptious. I always use plantains though instead of bananas because they are more firm and not as sweet. And you can always add cassava root as well for some extra texture and starch. .

When @TedGlennon asked me to be a part of this photo the night before at Four Seasons Maui @FSmaui, I thought it was just a casual thing, but to actually be in this moment - in this photograph - flanked by some of the world’s greatest sommeliers? Well, it was almost too much for this heart of mine to handle.🍷🥂
I’ve had A LOT of moments like this lately - ESPECIALLY in the food and wine space - and, I want you to know that all of it is not lost on me. I am feeling so much gratitude and so much awe in this place that I am. No, not in Maui - in spite of all the photos on here, I’ve actually been home for 2 weeks as of tonight - but, gratitude for being in this “PLACE,” where my daily career life involves travel, the best cuisine in the country and the best wines and spirits I could dream of.

Thank YOU, @tedglennon @christianeduardonavarro @fsmaui @wallysofficial, all of the somms in this photo, all of the chefs and wine and spirit brands and sponsors, media outlets and #DawnsDestinations influencers who were an integral part of the first-ever #FSmauiClassic. 🙌🏻
The first time may never be able to be duplicated but the years ahead will indubitably birth a similar kind of magic and uniqueness as the first.

  • Happy National Potato Chip Day! These crunchy salty snacks have been around since 1853. Potato chips were invented by George Crum who was a chef in New York at the Moon Lake Lodge Resort. One day a customer complained about his fries being too thick, so Crum made a thinner batch of fries. The second batch was still not thin enough so Crum became frustrated and made fries so thin you couldn’t use your fork. Surprisingly the customer loved the fries and potato chips were born.
