Something recently happened to my artist life. I started doing private art lessons for kids... & adults! There’s really something magical about inspiring others with your own creativity. My life as an artist is only getting started. ✨🖌
☾ Meet the Maker ☾
Day 22 - “Proud of”
Honestly, I’m just proud of myself for sticking to it and coming so far in my art. I have learned and grown so much in the past few years, as a person and artist.
I’m proud of each new creature I make, because it’s always better than the last. If you watched me sculpt, all you’d hear is me squeeing over how cute the feature on this Mish is, how sweet that Sprocket looks. Ask my husband. “Omg babe, look at his tiny butt chin! Look at these feet! It’s sooooooo cute!!!! LOOOK AT IT!!!!” (That or me growling and cussing because this Mish is fighting me and doesn’t want all 4 limbs to match... grrr. Don’t make me smoosh you!) 😂
If I had to choose recent favorites, it’d be a toss up between Mishette & this snail. The snail was a lot of firsts for me and helped pull me out of my awful winter depression/creative rut. First time I ever used chalk pastels for details, first time I ever used UV resin (I bought it specifically for her slime trail). She also sparked a lot of feature upgrades that most wouldn’t notice, but I do. Features that are easier to sculpt and look cleaner once finished. I’m really proud of the huge leap my style has taken this year. (I’m still trying to decide if she will be in the restock next week or not, her and I have a very deep connection. On top of me already having a hard time parting with my art.)
And hello, *fist bumps* 🤜🏻🤛🏾 to all of you who have stuck with your meet the maker posts! I’m so proud of you! I had zero hopes of me completing even half of these, and here we are baby! ♥️
