  • “I’ve really let myself go.”

Lately I’ve been thinking a lot about this common phrase that we tend to use when we step away from our workout and healthy eating routine, whatever that may look like. I had a client describe herself in this way when she was talking about having her child. It stopped me dead in my tracks. This woman’s body performed a literal miracle by creating a human, and instead of being able to honor that she (and countless others) internalized the belief that she “let herself go” because the shape of her body changed.

Instead of beating yourself up for “letting yourself go,” congratulate yourself for having something so totally awesome happening in your life that you were too busy to make it to the gym or spend hours meal prepping. Throw yourself an actual party instead of a pity party! You’re awesome and life is about way more than what your body looks like.

Some people may say the same thing about me, that I’ve “let myself go.” It’s true, I’ve traded a few pounds of muscle for fat in the past year, but you know what? I’ve been BUSY creating a business that I love, moving across the globe, building a life with my partner, working with new clients, and exploring a life without dieting. The gym has definitely taken a back seat, and that’s ok. I would argue that I’ve actually let myself GROW into the woman I want to be.

What does this even mean?  Well it means, lovely ones, that if you’ve made it through winter without a cold you’re a genius.  And guess what, you’re officially out of winter 🌟  Which, for me, means happiness at the longer days, excitement at the need for summery clothes and more adventures.  It’s also a really good time to reflect back over the past three months and look forwards to what is coming.

Here’s some really lovely journalling prompts to start your spring with . . . .
📔 Over the next 90 days what is the single most important goal for you to achieve?
📔 When you successfully reach your goal, how will your life be different?
📔 If you don’t change, or even regress, how will that affect your life?
📔 What possible obstacles may occur?  And how do you think you could overcome them?
📔 What support and accountability do you need?

Put pen to paper and physically doodle and play with all of these answers, it’ll help your logical human brain work over the old school reptilian brain so that you can be your best you.  For me, I’m dreaming of more adventures and connection over the next 90days.  And of course, less windy weekends at the beach with @tom_dempster & #sexydexy where the surf is actually surf-able 🏄‍♀️

  • È normale stare male. Sentirsi il mondo addosso. Un peso insormontabile proprio sopra il nostro petto.
È normale a volte non saper dare un nome a tutto questo, non capirne la causa.
La cosa più importante è riconoscere i sintomi. Rendersi conto che esiste un problema e parlarne con qualcuno che possa aiutarci.
È normale passare periodi brutti nella propria vita. Che sia per la perdita di qualcuno, lo smarrimento o ancora altri problemi.
È normale sentirsi a pezzi e avere la sensazione di non riuscire ad alzarsi.
Ma non mollate. MAI, per nessun motivo al mondo.
Neanche quando non sentirete più niente. Quando vi sentirete vuoti o addirittura assenti dal vostro corpo. Proprio quando crederete di non provare nulla qualsiasi cosa possa succedere, proprio in quel momento, non date corda alla vostra testa. Piuttosto lasciatevi andare a chi vi vuole veramente bene, a chi farà di tutto per evitare che vi facciate del male.
È in quel momento in cui dovrete ricominciare a prendervi cura di voi stessi.🙏🏻🌱💆🏼‍♀️

  • Before I decide to recover from my eating disorder it was a daily dose of torture consisting of starvation served with a side of binging, followed by my head in the toilet, purging, the pretty girls dessert. And the irony in all of this self induced suffering was all I could think about was stuffing my face, the sound of me chewing and how much food was on my fork when I brought it to my mouth. In the depths of my eating disorder, I could forget about eating around others. Not a chance. Eating in front of other people was like an uncomfortable strip tease where I was left standing there naked for everyone to judge. My mind was in a constant state of panic, wondering if I looked like a pig when I was eating, or if I was chewing too loud. Or worse, what if I ate too much and everyone saw what I always saw when I caught my reflection: a fat sob story that could do with losing a few pounds? The thoughts flooded my mind until there was no room for anything else. But not anymore. Now my mind is filled with other things, I am no longer consumed by frivolous food fears I am finally living.

  • I have a #transformationtuesday post that isnt a huge dramatic change but one that I am really really proud of. I stopped keto two months ago and moved to a #flexibledieting mentality. I have only lost a total of 5 pounds and my macros havent been spot on either. I'm still a work in progress. BUT my body is changing completely. I'm losing fat where it's stubbornly stuck and my back was one of those places. I'm seriously blown away. Theres 23 days between these pictures. And a lot of work. And a lot of food. And a lot of mindset guidance and macro guidance from my coach @anderkat30 and despite my imperfect attempts I'm still really proud of the progress I have made physically and mentally.
