Since December 14th I’ve been on a processing vessel traveling the Gulf of Alaska and the Bering Sea. I’ve been on land for about six hours in 100 days. I’ve probably had internet access for less than that haha
Although certain dynamics of this experience makes me want to start a mutiny there is a valuable learning opportunity that I’m slowly coming to terms with. I get to choose how I think and behave regardless of these dynamics. It’s about whether or not I maintain an internal or external locus of control. I can allow the outside world to control how I think and feel or I can focus on being grateful for what I have. I firmly believe that your reality is reflected by your thoughts. Your mind is going to pick up on your most prevalent thoughts. There is too much stimuli in the world to process at any given time so the brain’s short cut is to process info about the world that is most relevant to you. You prime your brain to pick up on certain things. For instance, I went to dinner with a professor and afterwards we were talking along the street about wanting to buy a sprinter van and traveling the U.S. I swear to you it seemed like all that drove by were sprinter vans and none had passed by beforehand. Or the time my mom told me she was going to name her cat Eli because it was a rare name. The next day she returns home from town disappointed that she had heard it multiple times. There probably had always been sprinter vans and the name Eli in our presence but our brains didn’t deem that information relevant to pick up on. If you choose to prime your mind with negative emotions and thoughts from external influences then your reality is going to reflect more of those experiences. If you choose to be grateful then you prime your brain to pick up on more experiences to be grateful for. You choose your reality by choosing how and what to think. “A man’s way of doing things is the direct result of the way he thinks about things. To do things in a way you want to do them, you will have to acquire the ability to think the way you want to think; that is the first step toward success.” - Wallace Wattle #travel#success#blog#blogger#life
Back & Shoulder inspo! (Minimize bounce on dumbbell presses, this was my last set and not an amazing example of good form). By popular demand I’ll be posting a video of a full upper body workout later this week, stay tuned 🤪

True beauty is not about your face or your body, it’s from the soul. It’s the magic and the energy you emanate.

There are two basic motivating forces: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution and all hopes for a better world rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life. ~John Lennon 🌸
Stakes is High was an album I reviewed in the past when I was a bit younger, and looking back, it was a really cringe-worthy review. Over the years since that review though, the album has resonated with me a lot more so I decided to share my thoughts on it with a much mature and better mind.
Check it out, and if you got a Medium account, go clap it up! Link in bio.
