Building a queen sized #murphybed without having a proper workshop is perhaps a slightly crazy thing to do but I’m a sucker for a challenge 💪. I’m sharing all that I learned about DIY Murphy beds in a series of blog posts and I just published the first one on engineeryourspace.com 💻 (link in bio). Best way to not miss the rest of my “Building a Murphy Bed” series is to subscribe to my newsletter 📥 - link in bio!
What a productive day! the studio ceiling is done (see my stories) just the decoration, then we can measure up for storage etc. I’m going to try and create a functional but hopefully stylish space that I want to spend time in. The joiner did a great job as he did plastering too. We’ve been lucky to find a great joiner who is a jack of all trades. So important as we’ve had some numpties in the past!! .
Other news the stencilled floor is finished and I looks great. So much better than I had hoped. I will post a picture and do a “how to” on my stories at the weekend. .
Have a great evening your nearly there .😊....

I have had so many kind comments about our furniture in the house particularly in the guest spare room in the loft so wanted to share with you how you can have this too!
The bedside tables, wardrobe & chest were all upcycled items we had in our old home. I didn’t have this page then so didn’t take any before photos (oops!!!) but it’s super simple to do so will explain on here! These were originally just old cream pieces of furniture but we transformed them into a white marble look style 😍😍😍 1) we painted the furniture using a primer first then a @bandq_uk furniture paint in white
2) we bought some marble effect self adhesive worktop peel again from b&q (£6 a roll) and stuck it on the top (this was so easy you just need some good scissors and a rolling pin to iron out any creases)
3) we bought some chrome knobs to replace the old ones off eBay
And that’s it !!! Doesn’t take long at all! We have upcycled loads of other bits throughout the house which I can share in due course but hopefully this was helpful for a start 💞💞💞 Such a cheap way to get gorgeous matching furniture ! #upcycle#upcycledfurniture#bedroomdecor#bedroomfurniture#bedroomideas#bedroomgoals#marblefurniture#whiteandgrey#whiteandgreyhome#glamhome#glamhomedecor
