Because giving up is not an option.
My shadow forevermore
I keep trying very hard to close my eyes and get sone sleep but no matter what I do here I lay wide
awake, so I get up shake my head and start to think just how much more sadness
can I take? My heart is broken so I can
feel no more, I became my
my soul has fought at great cost
it dies alone with the battle Lost
the hope I had to fight this war
has left its mark from shore to shore
my strength God gave for me to live
has weakened now no more to give
no hope no strength no will to fight
I fear my demons will attack tonight
But when the darkness comes it just passes by
it now fears my angry battle cry
we fought before and I won alone
with the help of God I sent it home
I am standing here with Him at heart
he is a light a beacon in the dark
I am not afraid no not anymore
as I show addiction out my door
I may be weak and at the end of my rope
but my son Ryder still gives me Hope
we will be together you just wait and see
because I love him and he loves me!

@michutravel enjoys the warmth of a sunny day in Greenland along the chiseled, ivory and cobalt backdrop of the surrounding icy terrain. While some of the natives and visitors welcome the warmer weather, the higher temperatures continue to pose a threat to the existence of the country’s icecap, which covers nearly 80% of its land. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration, more widely-known as NASA, has been monitoring the icecap via satellite and estimates that it’s losing more than 300 billion tons of ice every year. As beautiful as this scene is, it's also a reminder that our actions have a ripple effect, and that it's so important to be eco-friendly with consumption and conservative with waste. If every person made an effort to recycle a few more items per week, or use electricity for one hour less per day, together, we could make an incredible impact. What are you doing to help fight climate change? (📷: @michutravel 📍: Greenland)

"Don't wanna feel another touch
Don't wanna start another fire
Don't wanna know another kiss
No other name falling off my lips
Don't wanna give my heart away
To another stranger
Or let another day begin
Won't even let the sunlight in
No, I'll never love again"
Episode 12 of the Unclean & Mostly Sober podcast is now available! I apologize upfront for the excessive use of the "F Bomb" in this episode, even by my standards. I don't know if it was a nervous crutch or what, but if you can get past all the language, this was an important episode for us, as Steve is one of our best friends, and as you've heard in previous episodes, his puzzling addiction late in life was one of the main driving factors for us starting this podcast in attempt to learn about addiction, and have these open candid conversations. This is still very fresh for Steve so it wasn't easy for him to come on the show and open up. I just hope I didn't ruin it for people by going a little over the top with the language. ...
