  • “Clarity equals Power. The more clear and specific your are in what you want, the faster your brain can get you there.” - T.Robbins. Whether you want to have an amazing relationship or success in business/career you must know exactly what you want. What’s the result you’re after? You must get CLEAR about your outcome. Without this clarity, tough decisions just become more difficult decisions. Remember, REASONS come FIRST; answer will come second & will be obvious. If you don’t know the reasons you’re doing something, you won’t follow through; & create more difficulties in your life. Get as specific as possible here. Analyze your situation, actions & see if they do any good to you or damage you? What is the emotional benefit or negative consequence of that?
If your actions are not aligned with your goal you’ll never get what you really want.
Raise the standards of your own personal behavior: what you do, how you allow to treat others & yourself, the quality of your thoughts & actions. Eliminate situations, experience & people that don’t do any good to you, get you out of truck & are not bringing you closer to the goal. By doing this you’ll get closer to the best solution.
Now, get absolutely clear what actions you must take in order to achieve your goal. Align your actions with the outcome, it must be in synchronicity & provide the greatest CERTAINTY that you will meet your desired outcomes & needs: This is your best option – you know that to be true. Make it simple, be honest with yourself. Make this decision with absolute certainty & then take actions. It’s better to make a tough decision & monitor to see if you need to adjust your approach than to remain paralyzed in indecision & get to no where. “It’s in the moment of your decision your destiny is shaped.” Think how far you will come by doing it right & surrounding yourself with the right people! Take control of your own life, instead letting your fears & situations to control it. Know what you want, align your actions with the outcome & go after what you deserve, don’t settle for less!❤️💯

  • 3 Viking Press Variations 💪

_

With the addition of the newest toy to @af_sealbeach I thought I’d demonstrate a few overhead press variations using the #VikingPress along with their benefits.
_

1️⃣ Squat + Press: This is an excellent way to teach how to generate force from the lower body and transfer it through the torso and then upper extremities. This concept of using the body as once piece rather than isolated parts (linkage) is very beneficial for sport or activity.
2️⃣ Half Kneeling Neutral Grip: The half kneeling position requires the individual to stiffen the midsection and contract the glutes to create a stable foundation for the spine and upper body to produce force upward ⬆️ Failure to create maximal tension in the body will result in poor alignment, technique and decreased strength. Just think, “stay tight” for the duration of the movement. The neutral grip will place more emphasis on the tricep muscles 💪
3️⃣ Half Kneeling Normal Grip: This grip targets the deltoid muscles in a different way and will transfer to the barbell military press lift slightly better than the neutral grip. I recommend training both variations to ensure maximal benefits.
_

  • Water is the best thing to stay hydrated. 💦 Here are three simple tips to staying hydrated in 2019! 💥
1.) Be prepared! Always keep water on hand. If you're feeling thirsty, you're already dehydrated. 🥤
2.) Drink 8/16 oz. When you wake up, before each meal, and before you go to bed! 🌙
3.) Mix it up! Add some flavored electrolytes, fruit, or sugar-free sweeteners to make hydration more appealing. 🍓 📷: @scottyp.bjj

  • 🌞AM VS. PM🌚 .
Each have their own benefits.
Morning: working out in the morning allows you to ‘seize’ the day. You can get your workout out of the way, allowing you to focus your energy on other accomplishments for the remainder of the day. I sometimes like to do fasted HIIT (high intensity internal training) cardio in the morning - which is great to target burning fat. If you feel that you don’t have the appropriate energy, I’d recommend having a light snack (ex. Banana) and a coffee or preworkout! Caffeine stimulates energy, focus, and thermogenesis, so you’ll be good to burn some calories 💪🏼. Note: cardio can always be followed by weights to get the metabolism going. -
Evening: great for any type of exercise. Again, caffeine will help you get the energy/motivation you need, in case you’re feeling tired by the end of the day. Note: try to avoid excessive amounts of caffeine after 5-6 pm, especially if you’re caffeine sensitive, to avoid a restless night!

Regardless of AM or PM, goal is to get a workout in. Remember to hit each muscle group at least once a week! 💪🏼 -
👇🏼Now, what’s your preference?👇🏼

  • FIX YOUR TONGUE POSTURE!!!! (@posturepro)
.
.
The tongue is a powerful muscle, impacting many parts of the body beyond the mouth
.
.
Just like we practice good sitting and standing posture for the sake of our necks and backs, we should also practice good tongue posture for the sake of our mouth.
.
. 💯 In fact, the position of your tongue impacts your ability to breathe through the nose, your sinuses, your eyes, your head, your neck and shoulders. .
. 🙌 As many as 85% of people have incorrect tongue posture and a growing number of dentists and orthodontists have started addressing this problem head on
.
.
🤔So what is the right way to hold your tongue? Let’s start with the wrong way first. For a lot of people, their tongue rests at the bottom of the mouth, pushing against the bottom teeth. Is this you? If so, you have improper tongue positioning
.
.
Proper tongue positioning is where the tongue rests at the top of the mouth, sitting  behind the front teeth. Your entire tongue (including the back) should be pressing against the roof of the mouth, as seen on the circles in the picture. Your lips should be sealed and your teeth should rest slightly apart. You don’t want any pressure on your bottom or top front teeth. Even the slightest pressure over time will move them (this is how orthodontics works!).
.
.
What are the benefits of holding your tongue the right way? Avoiding all of the uncomfortable symptoms of improper tongue posture! .
.
. 👍🏼Breathe Better
👍🏼Sleep Better
👍🏼Look Better 👍🏼Feel Better .
.
.

If you have been following us you know that we have been talking about tongue posture since 2006 .
.
.

If you’re interested in learning our techniques and switching on your nose breathing @posturepro will be heading to 🇺🇸Chicago on February 15 - 17, 2019 .
