Today I'm sharing some of my favourite pencil work from high school with the first page being my earlier work and the second being later. I haven't really done pencil work since high school, but it would be good to play with to improve my use of value in paintings.
This week I'm going to share other old work I did ( some of it was from 9-10 years ago... What?!). I took art all through high school and had a really great art teacher who was fun, supportive, and really encouraged us to play in our art (shoutout to my art teacher!) Art class was pretty much my favourite place to be apart from outside, and it's where I learned the fundamentals I still use today since I haven't made it out to any art classes since then.
I still have my old sketchbooks and love looking through them to see what I came up with when I was really exploring art. I also find many of my old ideas inspirational, and am reminded how much I enjoyed mixed media and playing with texture. Looking forward to getting into that free creative space again soon!! #art#pencildrawing#sketchbooks#highschool#drawing#artclass#nostalgia#blastfromthepast#sketching#improvement#creativespaces
So this week I discovered @drawfeeshow and I've been binge watching these guys drawing for the past few days. Last night I decided to join them on the episode where they draw criminal portraits from only description. And yes I cheated because I was looking at the reference image but still was fun to "draw with other people" *sadness intensifies* :') Disclaimer: I am NOT a big fan of Arianna Grande and I think I have never heard one of her songs haha
