I’ve learned that making decisions for self can come across selfish at times , that turning your back on certain situations cans seem as if you don’t care, not that you’re simply focused on the goal, that not everyone will believe in that which you dream of and believe in. What I’ve also learned is that’s it’s okay to be misunderstood.
I like who I’m becoming. 😎
What a very special treat to explore Saint Martin and St. Bart’s with family!!! Everyone was super flexible bouncing from place to place on the sailboat to see what was to discover — parents favorite was Simpson Bay in Sint Marten (Dutch side) for the ease of walkability to lots of restaurants & bars, shopping & beach fun. The rest of us voted our favorite was Grand Case in Saint Martin (French side) for the simpler, one street of options vibe.
While the whole island is still in hurricane recovery mode, the restaurants that have gotten back in action were fabulous and the beaches were white sand and aqua water perfection!
In St. Bart’s we loved Anse Colombier which is simply idyllic! We also loved Shell Beach & Le Select, the oldest bar in St. Barts, where we happily spent our afternoons waiting for dinner time to roll around 🍹🍻🤪🍻🍹 :
Needless to say, having the sweetest 2 & 4 year olds with superfly cornrows aboard kept us smiling, despite a pesky 24 hour flu that worked its way through the boat. With their sweet voices no longer aboard, it is much too quiet 😕. :
As we sailed away from them, the gratitude we have for family and friends was immense and the longing for home settled over the 4 of us. This travel life has significant trade-offs and we are so grateful when what we miss most comes around to spend some time with us! :
It makes sense..
I want you to take some time and think about all that you’re grateful for, think about something really nice that happened recently, a trip or vacation you went on, for my Trinidad family, think about Carnival and how good it felt to let go and feel free for the moment. Well, after thinking about it all, think to yourself that it makes sense, that you deserve it, that it was meant to be that way, the feeling meant for you and much deserved . Too many times we overlook when good things are happening in our lives, don’t pay it enough attention or even acknowledge it but somehow tend to focus on the negative and bad experiences, sometimes for a really long time.
Moving forward anything good that happens to you, say this “it makes sense, I do deserve it.”.. It’s time to start acknowledging the good and find the time to live in the moment.
