"Mix ⏪Old and New⏩ Designs🔄" When stuck between Modern or Vintage home theme, why not choose them both?
Most of us inherited something old from a family or from a friend that we want to keep for having it's sentimental value. On the other hand living in this 21st century means adapting with the new philosophy finding designs that fit in to the trends.
Combining modern and vintage style that what makes our homes unique. There’s something special about a room that stimulates your nostalgic senses, but creating a balance so that the room looks elegant rather than untidy or a mishmash of junk can be challenging.

So it’s been a week since my concert series finished and I’ve enjoyed looking back and reflecting on what was a great experience. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone that came and heard this dazzling programme live and who have supported me on my social media and day to day efforts. My musical intentions when I was devising this programme was to showcase the different sides to three French composers and I felt this was definitely communicated across. I am also grateful to everyone who took the time to leave a comment at the end of the concerts. Your overwhelming support and positive feedback in this series will help inspire my next performance programme, the details of which I will be revealing soon...

🎹Today, let's give it up for these rural workhorses, the old piano. If you've never seen an abandoned piano it might strike you as strange, and even if you have seen an abandoned piano, it still might strike you as strange.
Across hundreds of locations I’ve found numerous pianos of varying quality, style, value, and condition in everything from old churches, to farm houses, to barns, and one case- inside an abandoned School Bus. These beautiful music machines at one time must have filled their environment with life and sound and warmth, only to be left behind in spaces where the silence is cold and almost deafening.
As sad as it may be, the reality is that pianos are heavy, cumbersome to move, and delicate too. When decisions have to be made about what to move, it seems the piano is often left off the list.
I know little to nothing about pianos other than to tell you that this one featured here is a Sterling Concert Grand. I first laid eyes upon it in 2011 and i’ve journeyed back to visit at least yearly ever since.
In that time the pews were taken from the building, more graffiti lined the walls, birds had claimed much of the building, and in 2017 a tornado hit that destroyed much of the rear wall of this church.
Who knows how much longer it will stand or if anyone will ever play the keys on this piano again. So let’s say thanks to this piano for sharing music, way back before YouTube and Spotify.
