  • A massive problem faced by African wildlife today is their complacency around humans due to increased exposure in game reserves 😬 Here you can see a young cheetah merely playing on a safari vehicle which is potentially very dangerous for the animals and people involved ⚠️ .

Reposted from @clrpirate - BEST.DAY.OF.MY.LIFE. Today was a fairytale...A cheetah jumped on our land cruiser today and then proceeded to nuzzle me, smell my hair, LICK my hair and then groom me with a tiny love bite. If you listen carefully, you can hear me say “this is the best day of my life” and “I love this” and finally tell her “I love you” 😍😍I have dreamed of this day and I know I am the luckiest girl in the world to have her choose me to kiss 😊here’s to always finding adventure wherever you are! THIS is why we travel. And THIS is why we travel to Africa😍❤️

  • The famous Ngorongoro Crater, one of the 7 natural wonders of Africa, was formed when a large volcano exploded and collapsed on itself. It is now around 100 square miles and about 2,000 feet deep. It's also teaming with wildlife...pretty amazing place.

  • Last week together with some friends from school we paid a visit to the ngorongoro crater✨ ...Mehn i used to see reviews that it is a pinnacle of beauty but standing there right in front of me i was utterly beguiled by it.😂.
And as we got to the bottom of the crater we saw lots of bird life and animals,an outstanding sight is when we saw two mighty male lions at a kill who were soon joined by vultures such as the lappet faced vulture and the griffon vulture as well as jackals and a number of spotted hyenas ❤. It was like watching a #davidattenborough documentary only this time i got front seats to it😁.
..
I urge y'all find time and pay a visit to this parks, reserves and conservation areas as i can promise it is an amazing experience 🇹🇿 🌍.

  • Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in Africa, making it one of the seven summits. It very popular with both experienced hikers and first time adventurers because it is considered to be the easiest of the seven summits. Scaling the mountain requires no technical skills or equipment, such as rope, harness, crampons or ice axe. It is a hiking peak, not mountaineering. Kilimanjaro is not only Africa’s tallest peak, but also the world’s tallest free standing mountain. The summit, named Uhuru Point, is 5,895 meters (19,341 feet) above sea level. While most high mountains are part of ranges, such as Mount Everest’s Himalayan Mountain Range, free standing mountains like Kilimanjaro are usually a result of volcanic activity. Kilimanjaro lies just 205 miles from the equator. The equator is an imaginary line that divides the Northern Hemisphere and Southern Hemisphere. When early explorers reported seeing glaciers on the top of Kilimanjaro, people did not believe them as they thought it was impossible for ice to form so close to the hot, equatorial sun. Scientists now believe that the glaciers shrink and then regrow during the planet’s ice age

  • King of the jungle; some of my favorite pictures of lions 🦁🦁🦁😍😍😍 Few interesting facts about African lions: *** We were lucky to watch a lioness hunt a baby giraffe (unsuccessful thankfully!). Giraffes may look peaceful, but they are not an easy prey. If a giraffe ends up kicking a lion, it can be severely injured or killed. So the attacks on a giraffe by a single lion are extremely rare. *** African lions are the most social of all big cats and live together in groups or “prides.” A pride consists of about 15 lions. *** Male lions defend the pride’s territory while females do most of the hunting. Despite this, the males eat first. *** A good gauge of a male lion’s age is the darkness of his mane. The darker the mane, the older the lion.
